Our first stop in Queenstown and it was a beautiful, sunny afternoon, making the gorgeous patio of Atlas Beer Cafe an optimal place to be. We wanted to go to fergburger, but was recommended that this place was actually better. After tasting both, I don’t quite agree with that take, but Atlas was still darn good, and there were places to sit, relax, and enjoy the day, which is a way better vibe Fergburger.
Pork belly: a glutinous app that is definitely only for those who like high amounts of fat. The fat section was more than typical and had a great jello-esque texture with a crispy outside, perfect for pork belly. The sauce was also nicely sweet and sticky, just adding to the whole texture of the dish. Again this dish is not for those who are just wanting to “try” pork belly.
Grilled Cheeseburger: The burger was great, no doubt about it. Double patty, double cheese, caramelized onions, just a classic combo done well. If you’re looking for a great burger with a great view, come here, and grab a beer to pair along with it! All that being said, the meat was just not as seasoned and the depth of flavors weren’t quite there compared to Fergburger. If you were forced to go to only one of these places, I would still try Fergburger.F
