Atlantis Submarines

During our 10-day stay in Barbados, we got to enjoy this exciting submarine trip from Atlantis! All of the crew members were extremely helpful, ensuring we had all of  the information we needed to stay safe and enjoy the trip. The captain shook my hand, thanking me personally for coming being part of this experience. During the underwater voyage, I really enjoyed the captain calling out scenery along the trip. It was very exciting to watch the schools of fish swimming by the portholes on the sub. It was also very enjoyable to learn about the coral, at the bottom of the ocean. I would highly recommend the services of Atlantis to anyone who wants to experience a submarine trip!

What an amazing once in a lifetime experience. to go down into a submarine!! We managed 132feet and then steadied off near coral at around 50-56feet. It’s luck of the draw what fish you will see but we saw some lovely ones. We just missed a turtle swimming off in the distance. Also just spotted a lion fish trying to blend in with the coral. An amazing morning, organised very well, staff were great, can not fault it at all. I love how staff are very friendly and fun, with clear instructions.

It was a lovely experience of being on a submarine. All of the crew carried out all of the necessary safety procedures to a high standard. The commentary was informative and humorous in equal measure. Seeing the sealife in their natural habitat at 135 feet plus was very special 🐟🐠

The experience of going in a submarine for the first time was exciting. It doesn't matter how old you are - if you've never done it before, then it is good fun. Interesting too. The crew were brilliant - funny, health and safety briefing was just right and with a jovial soundtrack playing for most of the voyage. To get to the submarine, you travel on a catamaran. Again, if not done before, quite interesting. (If you are doing excursions in the Caribbean, it probably won't be the only time you go on a catamaran). Watching the submarine rise from under the water is in itself a sight. Getting inside was easy - as long as you are not physically impaired - and again the staff were helpful. Inside the tub, you can see a gauge showing how deep you are going. It is serene and a privilege. We saw lots and lots of coral. Then more coral. The occasional fish swam by a port-hole and occasionally we saw the odd small shoal of fish. The 2 posters on the inside of the sub showing the sea life that you could possibly see, were faded and optimistic to put it mildly. In all honesty, we didn't see a lot. In fact, we saw more sea life on the Sting-Ray excursion a few days later (with snorkels provided). The biggest shoal of fish we saw was when walking along the jetty from the sub to the meeting point. Pleasant staff in the small expensive shop too. There is an earlier model of submarine on display in the grounds. I am looking at the other posted photos of sea life - maybe it is a seasonal thing - but we saw nothing like the images shown :-( All -in - all, an enjoyable experience. Worth the money? You only live once - and if you don't have great expectations of what you are going to see, then yes (just).

This was one of the highlights of our cruise. The team provided a great exploration and was quite funny! This tour exceeded my expectations. I would recommend waiting to board lastly and try to sit by the captain. I highly recommend this tour!

Great experience if you’re visiting Barbados, lots of sea life to be seen but didn’t seen any turtles on my occasion, others didn’t either. I expect it depends on the season. Fully recommend either way. The captain and crew are excellent. Very knowledgeable.

What an absolutely awesome trip.! Staff was excellent and we had an amazing time and make awesome memories.!!!

Went here with a party of 7. The staff were accommodating, the captain was knowledgeable and the ride was great. I'd recommend going during the day instead of the night.
