"Chase Chocolate Clams with a Cold Beer Baja has a reputation for attracting folks who like to live off the grid, enjoying a laid-back lifestyle and creating their own eccentric businesses. One of those is Art & Beer. The name says it all, really; this spot is worth a stop for its art and its beer. But it's also worth a stop for its chocolate clams (guess that didn't fit it into the name of the business so well), raw clams marinated and served in a concoction of 17 different ingredients. Wash it down with a cold beer (preferably Pacifico since you're on the Pacific coast of Mexico )."

Wow! What an experience. The owners run this intersting place alone and do it very well. Stopped for a cocktail and a snack. We ordered 2 screwdrivers and guacamole. They were massive. Drinks were at least 20 ounces each, and the guac was piled on. It was way more than 2 ppl could eat as a snack, but it was delicious. And the art and atmosphere were mesmerizing. The pictures do not do it justice. It was an experience I'll never forget. Enchanting ✨️

Google
A must stop place full of art. The owners have put their hearts in the venue. Very warm service.

Google
What a cool, hippy place full of character and amazing art. Husband & wife run the place and have lived there for 28 years. They have several drink options to choose from including beer & wine. The mezcalita she made was unbelievable! All made with fresh fruit and booze - huge & delicious. We order the mixed ceviche. It was also huge, easily shared and ended up being our dinner. Amazing flavors, so fresh and the right amount of heat. They have 3 homemade salsas to choose from to add, although not needed the flavor was so good.

Google
What great little place just south of Todos Santos. The drinks are Huge! The art is fun and the walk is great. The breeze off the Ocean was great too!

Google
Very unique place. The more you walk around the more you realize the huge effort that went into building it and how large this place really is. Art store as you enter then you walk into a very old fashion bar the leads you to tables and walkways throughout. The GF loved it here. The margaritas are huge. Lots to drink and look at. Not a huge food menu. My GF is looking forward to going back here. We have driven by it 20 times. I am so glad we stopped in. PS ask for the garlic prawns. They are not on the menu. The owners made them special for us. Yummmmmm. I highly recommend. I just read a couple of the negative reviews and had a good laugh. With the huge effort that went into this place and how amazing it is, do not expect to walk in and walk around for free, have some respect. The husband and wife owners were amazing and treated us like gold. 100% will be back

Google
While reading some of the negative reviews, I have to say, is there another business with the same name? Holy cow! This place is super cool. The owners were amazing. The food was out of this world. The drinks are made with fresh squeezed juices and giant! We've been here a few days now in Cabo and have eaten at some nice places but this place was the best so far. Extremely intimate setting with the owners being so nice and pleasurable to visit with. These folks have hit the ball out of the park here. What an amazing visit! Oh, not to mention the prices were lower than anything we've spent on meals and drinks yet! This place is a must visit!

Google
ART & BEER. We Love this place!!! It's a Must for us everytime we travel to Cabo. We look forward to it!!! The Owners are Characters and make the Best Bloody Marys Ever!!! Fresh ingredients and beautiful presentation on ALL Drinks!!!! A quick Stop on the highway on your way to Todos Santos.

Google
Fun place with art installations and interesting beers. Proprietors are nice and arty types. Nice views of the ocean from a little rooftop terrace. This roadside attraction charmed me. Que chulo!

Yelp
Been coming here for over 15 years! It's a cool place to enjoy a drink and yummy snack or just explore the grounds art. The owners are artists that created this funky little roadside bar. They have the best ceviche and their drinks are very large and plentiful as is the Ceviche. Pictures don't do it any justice. If on the road to Cerritos Beach or to Todos Santos give it a try

Yelp
We love stopping by when we are in town. Our favorite stop for drinks, ceviche and shrimp cocktail. Art is cool and they sell some merch as well. A must stop!!!

Dominic F.

Yelp
Amazing drinks, when I came they had very good energy welcoming us here and then provided us with amazing drinks and chips that were bomb. Definitely would recommend

Yelp
This is an eclectic experience. You're not coming here for classical fine art, or for the most hip cocktail of your life. But it is something you can't find everywhere. They have a minimum per person spend of 60 pesos. You can get a soda for that price if you want to get something for the entrance fee. The mojitos and margaritas are HUGE and take a while to finish so if you get one the value is there. I think my mojito was 30+ oz. The owners start working on your elaborate drinks while you stroll the property, they have decking that winds through the sculpture garden. There are cactus all over. The bathroom is a hut. Yep the saloon doors don't quite close. But you're at a roadside bar. The staff brought us chips with pineapple on top which was a better combo than I anticipated. The whole place is a fun curiosity.

Yelp
Wow, the owner provides my wife a so-so mojito which she doesn't finish. He then tells her he will only provide her a coke the next time she comes in and he was very serious. Sorry but while the art is cool the lack of care for customers and drink quality doesn't fly with me.

Yelp
Highly recommend avoiding, ESPECIALLY for a solo female traveler (or even a few women traveling alone). The owner is inappropriate - by global standards - and stopping here is not worth the headache or the inflated price point. Also be aware - there is one bathroom which does NOT have a locking or closing door and has many viewing points from outside which the owner can access. Be careful.

Yelp
Stoped here on my way to Todos and so happy we did. Over the years it's become a staple for travelers making their way up and down the coast. Same owners and same smiles. Drinks are on point, served with a smile and it never hurts to have a beer to go
google avatar

Lynn S.

Yelp
What can I say about this place.... interesting! All my friends were drinking, I was not, so entry fee for me was 60 pecos. Yet I wasn't offered a water
google avatar

Kera M.

Yelp
A unique great experience. Drinks are fresh and huge from scratch. Awesome spot. Welcoming hosts made our visit great. One of a kind experience. Reasonable price - definitely worth a stop. Only closed on Mondays. Make it a deestination!!

Yelp
Great place to stop on the way from Cabo to La Paz. Fabulous fresh drinks! Service always friendly and always offer a "road beer". If you don't stop here, you are missing out on a great experience!

Yelp
Stopped by on a holiday weekend during COVID. Drinks are HUGE! My delicious blueberry mojito was the equivalent of 5 drinks. My husband ordered a pina colada which was served in half a pineapple and the owner came by to continually refill his pineapple, she literally was serving him an entire pitcher of pina colada. Not bad for $10 USD at all! Very interesting art, you can tell everything here is a labor of love from a couple who is warm and hospitable to people they like, and probably don't give two fucks for the people who they don't want to have at their establishment (I read some of the negative reviews and found them hilarious). Highly recommend in route to Todos Santos if you're looking for an interesting diversion and have an hour or so to enjoy a delicious drink. Don't come here if you are in a rush, can't hold your alcohol or are cheap. PS. we also got a FREE plate of delish ceviche and chips!

Peggy H.

Yelp
Absolutely amazing find!!! The artwork and natural design is so inspirational. The owners made our experience so wonderful! The margaritas and sangria were delicious! We were also surprised by a crab appetizer that was really great! Be sure to walk the entire path to experience the total beauty!!

Yelp
Pina mojito the size of Rhode Island. $100 peso beers. It says Art & Beer. Sinatra and Buble playing on the sound system. That's the story. Thanks to the great staff here for the fresh & delicious courtesy clams!! You have to like large installation eco-art to "get" this place, and we are happy we stopped. NB: cash only, 60 peso minimum per person.

Yelp
The only thing inviting is the sign. The proprietor was rude and unfriendly. Don't bother.
google avatar

Nicole M.

Yelp
Was apprehensive after reading reviews but this place was great. Owners were both kind and hospitable, drinks were good. Overall a hidden gem. Yes, they do have a minimum purchase per person but reasonable considering the uniqueness of it. Four of us all enjoyed it.

Jeremy J.

Yelp
Must visit when in the area. Mojito and ceviche are highly recommended. The owners will always treat you well.

Yelp
Net of the situation is this place sucks and it's expensive...read more for the blow by blow review below However, If you truly want to drink a beer at a reasonable price and watch the ocean then walk across the road and buy a six pack at the store which is literally 20 yards away and owned by a very kind local family. Walk down the little sand road to the beach. Once there I encourage you to promptly throw 4 of 6 beers away and consume the final two. You will actually BE on the ocean side and spend less money per beer than at Art and Beer...oh yeah Art and Beer is probably 600/800 yards from the water. On a Tuesday afternoon I visited Art and Beer for the first time to meet a friend and was roaming in the front section of the establishment looking at the art while I wait for my buddy. The bartender highlighted the drink menu and asked what I wanted. I declined her invitation for a drink and then I saw my buddy in the restaurant section as he waived me back. I began walking toward him and, Incredibly, the host jumped in front of the door and demanded I leave. I was confused as to what was going on and the bartender stated i am required to buy a drink or pay a 60 peso cover charge. Now even more confused as to who in the world would pay a cover charge to see mediocre art on a Tuesday afternoon in a not-so-remarkable restaurant. I explained I am simply greeting my friend and will leave in a second. The bartender said "no, you need to leave now and we will tell him to meet you outside". I was still confused and restated I am staying for a few seconds to which they replied the same thing: "you need to leave now!" Huh? What? Did I just get reprimanded by my 2nd grade teacher from catholic school? Do these people think it's the Louvre with centuries-old paintings and sculptures? Is there a Michelin-rated chef serving up beautiful entrees? Did the bartender do what bartenders do...chat people up and serve something interesting ? No, no and no. Reality check, it's a little place, weeds all over, expensive beers with what looks to be 1 single artist's work that wasn't interesting. There are so many good restaurants and places to see local art. Skip this one on the fact the owners are rude AF!

Yelp
This place is really relaxing. Drinks are huge! All fresh. I was thinking at first there was very little liquor in them, but man it sneaks up on you. The staff and owners are very accommodating. Very unique stop!

Yelp
Amazing time at Art & Beer! Relaxing with a world famous Bloody Mary and fresh marlin & shrimp cerviche.

Yelp
Sign out from says closed till October. We turned around and went back to Cabo. No Art and Beer tequila this year.

Ronaelle P.

Yelp
A wonderful experience! Clam ceviche was amazing. Huge, delicious drinks with excellent service. We loved the eclectic feel of the place, views of the ocean, looking at the art sculptures and listening to live music. We can't wait to go back!
google avatar

Yelp
Blow your mind drinks and beautiful outdoor area in the most serene surroundings ever. A must stop when heading into town.

Tony C.

Yelp
This is got to be Cabo's best kept secret! The food and drinks are amazing!! A must to stop by!

Jill D.

Yelp
Quirky, special, worth a stop. Go for sunset and ask about the art. It's a bit rough around the edges and a little uncertain but it is unique and the drinks are huge.
google avatar

Michael M.

Yelp
This place is fantastic if you enjoy lame music and worse margaritas. The most overpriced and watered down margs in Baja. The overinflated sense of importance from the owner and irritable attitude to go along combine to create an ambiance of regurgitated guacamole. My amigo looks forward to opening his place across the highway called, mejor arte y más cerveza

Karen H.

Yelp
Fresh everything, drinks and food! This is 1970s hippies doing it right, living off the the land and using existing local vegetation and farmers. With the artful dodger garden. I love drinking on the bridge and relaxing, as one of the owners (husband) plays the organ.

Gail E.

Yelp
The owner was hostile to us, plain and simple. We just had a large lunch in Todos Santos and wasn't sure we all wanted another beer for 60 pesos so when we questioned him he started shouting at us about how expensive beers with a view of the ocean was. We left, and won't try it again.
google avatar

Leslie R.

Yelp
Very little art, very expensive drinks. 3$ waters. Would never return here. The keyboard music was atrocious.

Tom W.

Yelp
Read the reviews before stopping and after being there we were surprised at the negative ones. Of course everyone's experiences and expectations are different, but we found the owners to be welcoming and enjoyable. Maybe some past patrons don't understand a bit of sarcastic humor. But the friendliness of the owners and the customers caused us to hang out a bit longer than planned..... the margaritas are LARGE and hand crafted. Worth having a few along with ensuring there is a sacrificial DD. Anyway, it is a great place to visit. Enjoy the charm.

Davia W.

Yelp
I was so sad to revisit Art&Beer as I have done for over 10 years..bragging to my guests that they were in for a treat. The owners could not have been more hostile and the drinks were not huge and amazing ...just in big glasses. We were ignored. No tapas were offered, when requested something it was ignored and when I paid and was confronted regarding my tip (I explained my position on the service and experience) and the owner went even meaner. I am a huge proponent of small and quaint and fun experiences but sadly I can no longer refer people to this one time gem. The special experience is not there anymore and the price cannot be justified! I am just so sad as I own a business and would hate to upset a customer and I am still upset and I just wish Art&Beer would be how it used to be.

Yelp
Wow! Unbalanced owners. Stopped in to check it out and have a drink. The Proprietors, an older man and woman basically took $ 13 from us told us to leave and threatened to call police because we asked for no ice in the $ 11 dollar drink. Had to wait through a minute of verbal abuse before I got change back from the extortion money we payed. I have given this place a new name "F Art and Beer". I highly recommend you avoid this place! The rest of our 6 days was wonderful and the locals were very nice.

Yelp
The absolute Go-To place in Baja for an ultimate beach experience near Cabo San Lucas. Fabulously inventive outdoor art 'gallery' drawn out along rustic walkways to tour the art, interspersed with mini-tiki huts for families or couples to enjoy the marvelous fresh ceviche and some of the best cocktails in Baja. Coupled with an amazing selection of the best craft beers in the area (along with the largest selection of Mexican chemical beers you have ever seen, if that is your thing), this is a Baja experience not to be missed. This place is very easy to find once you have identified that you are at Cerritos Beach. Possibly less so at night, if that is important? For some reason I wasnt able to figure out someone in the local government put a 4 lane highway along this part of the country along exceptionally beautiful scenery so there is an extraordinary 40 minute drive from Cabos with no traffic which entertains you with sweeping curves and broad views of dramatic mountains and the sea; letting this drive rival the 17 mile drive around Monterrey, which is a destination in itself! But at the end, you will find the mysterious fake Do-Not-Enter signs at Art and Beer which show you before you even enter that the proprietors are fun people who know what they are doing and have a wry sense of humour. And fun artists. Do not leave without sampling the wildest toilet you have ever seen, the tower look-outs and perusing at some of the most beautiful oneofakind artistic t-shirts you have ever seen. All this without the fancy prices you would expect. Just make sure you leave time to go to the pool at the Surf Colony by the beach (or, - even better, - take a surf lesson) afterwards!

Yelp
We brought a party of 9 guests as my husband had 2 previously good experiences at Art & Beer. I had read many negative reviews, but assumed the people reviewing were the problem. Boy was I wrong! Lourdes, the owner yelled at us as we walked in because I needed to use the restroom before being seated. My husband told her to calm down, not to worry as he was ordering a drink for me. 8 of us ordered drinks and my husband just wanted a sip of mine as he was doing the driving. They had a huge problem with that. The owner came over and handed my husband a charge slip of 60 pesos to sit down. He told my husband that he was trespassing if he didn't order his own drink or pay 60 pesos to sit down. Seriously? If it weren't for my husband we would not have even stopped there. The two of us got up and walked out. Then the owner even followed us out to the car and pretended to write down our license plate. What was he going to do, call the police because my husband opted out of staying for this man's rudeness? Horrible people and horrible experience. Let's just say that our 7 friends quickly drank their drinks and walked out. They didn't order food because the owners were so rude and everyone got out of there ASAP. No tip, and no return. Sad thing is, the owners don't care about service. It's a shame. These people are scary. Maybe they are off their meds?

Yelp
I had the pleasure of spending some time here and highly recommend stoping in,the drinks are incredible and the atmosphere is wonderfull and relaxing, and the roof top dining gives a great view of the ocean..

J K.

Yelp
This has been a regular stop for us over the past 9 years. Our vacation to the Baja would not be complete without Art & Beer!

Stacey H.

Yelp
I love this place. The monitors are amazing. The atmosphere is very eclectic and unique. You should check it out!
