"With attic dormers facing the sea, the whitewashed Applecross Inn is a quintessential Highland retreat—and an excellent spot for a meal throughout the day. Run by Applecross resident Judith Fish, the inn features seven well-appointed guest rooms but is best known for its restaurant, where guests can enjoy local seafood like prawns, crab, lobster, oysters, smoked salmon, and the specialty whitefish. The restaurant's focus on regional ingredients even extends to the ice cream, which comes from a nearby artisanal producer. Food is available from noon until 9 p.m., and guests can choose to eat either in the dining area, equipped with a peat-burning stove for colder months, or the outdoor beer garden in warmer weather."

It’s the only pub in the village and it shows. Not a lot of effort goes into seemingly anything. Booked a table months in advance because we were staying at the nearby campsite. Arrived in plenty of time to perhaps grab a drink before eating. Was told that we had to drink outside due to the lack of room which wasn’t an issue because the weather was fine although quite cold. It was over half an hour after our booking before we were allowed inside. Once seated on the stools we could thaw out and order. I had the scallops which were okay but under seasoned. My main was the monkfish, which came out looking like a kids meal of chicken nuggets. The fish was in very oily batter and the oil took away the taste of the fish. I guess the chef had a day off and the cleaner had a go at cooking. Certainly one of the poorer meals I’ve had in quite a while. The food truck outside which if I’d had known about it beforehand I wouldn’t have booked, smelled great and looked good too at a fraction of the price.

Wow! Whilst there isnt a lot of competition around given the remote location, this pub still clearly prides itself on making sure the service and quality it provides to its customers is still top notch! My husband and I ate here today and it was truly incredible. The service was instant, polite and welcoming, we didnt have to wait for anything despite them being quite busy and the food was sensational. The best sticky toffee pudding ive ever eaten (and I've had a fair few in my time!). Worth the money, worth the trip and worth a revisit! Dont miss this. The setting is also stunning looking out onto the sea and the staff ever helped us with recommendations on our route. Fabulous all round! Made our day!

Great and friendly staff. Food was nice a little pricey though. We had the prawns for starters, then lobster and crab risotto. It was all very nice. Great atmosphere and great beer.

Lovely spot very much worth a visit. Wry dog friendly too. There is also two vans outside one doing takeaways and ice creams the other bacon rolls first thing ! Very handy for the morning.

Really nice food! Came here a few nights ago on a rainy evening, the website said they were fully booked but the waitress sorted us out a table which was really nice. We got a fish and chips and a burger and it was all really fresh and nice, nicest fish I’ve had for a long time. Staff were lovely and the place itself is really cosy highly recommend if your passing☺️

Amazing place to stay. Beautiful views on edge of loch. Saw deer and pine martens next to hotel. Friendly service. Room dated but totally in keeping with an old traditional inn. Great pub. Lovely diner. Fantastic breakfast.

Second visit here during summertime and it was closed AGAIN! I don't understand Scotland sometimes. The country is buzzing with tourists and everything still has a closed day? Anywhere else in the world stays open over summer season/ holiday season. There was a bacon roll stall open from 9 to 11, not much use any other time of day.

Only ate lunch at the Inn and to be honest it was just ok. The soup starter that day was a potato leek and it was excellent but our main dishes were mediocre. I had the Thai curry and hubs had the smoked salmon sandwich. Not much to write home about, but our server was kind and friendly.

Yelp
Come here for the amazing seafood offerings. So much to choose from, but I went with the crab salad appetizer and the fish pie. The crab salad with mango was to DIE for. I'm not usually into mixing fruit with savory food, but they did it to perfection and I could have definitely eaten an entire bowl of just that mix for my entree. The fish pie was good as well, hearty and filling.. so many dishes I wanted to try! Staff was wonderful. Worth a detour for lunch.

Yelp
The food here is amazing, and if you sit outside the views of the Isle of Skye are unbelievable. The menu is on the wall inside, and on a crowded evening shouldering your way in and picking something off the menu can be frustrating. Once you place your order your worries will fade away though, as you enjoy the view and dine on stellar seafood. It's also fun to see all of the people who end up here--it's a stopover for a lot of folks on roadtrips--great people watching!

Yelp
This really is a fantastic Inn, it's rustic and real with phenomenal seafood locally caught and served simple, as it should be. Judith Fish is the owner and over the last 32 years she has built a fantastic team. Covid has really restricted the tables available so make sure you book well in advance. Not our first time there and it won't be our last. 5 star + all day long

Yelp
The Applecross Inn provided a welcome break after our brave/foolhardy adventure traversing the Applecross Pass in a motorhome. It's right on the seafront, and on a good day, it would have been an absolutely stunning setting. The day we were there, it was horizontal rain and blowing a gale, so we hurried inside. The inside is cosy and traditional, and we were given a warm welcome by the friendly bar tender. We'd only popped in for a drink, so I can't comment on the food, apart from saying that it smelt as though there may be a lot of seafood on the menu. The gin selection was impressive, and I happily chose a Gordon Castle, which you don't see in many places. And bonus - fee wi-fi! Having not had signal for hours, this was very welcome as we could upload photos, check online maps and such. I'd have worked my way through a few more of their gin selection, but we had places to get to, so off we went.

Yelp
Excellent food, amazing service. Try the mango crab salad appetizer. My first experience with Haggis was even delicious! The fish and chips are the best I've ever had and I have travelled all over the UK. Definitely recommend!!! Oh, also the BEST sticky toffee pudding and a new one for me-the Cranekin. Must try.

Yelp
A B&B located in beautiful Scottish highlands on Applecross bay and with views of Isle of Skye. We did not stay at the inn but had lunch here. The food and service was very good and pricing was moderate. The local lamb stew was excellent and homemade soup was as good. Homemade ice cream was outstanding. The selection of beers, wines and Scottish whiskies was excellent. Worth the hard drive to just to eat here. Next time we plan to stay at the inn.

Yelp
We had a lovely visit to Applecross and had our lunch at the Applecross Inn. It's an absolutely charming place and the food was SO delicious. One of our party had the langoustine lobster for lunch which is caught fresh by the proprietor of the Inn! Well worth a stop if you are lucky enough to find yourself in the Highlands!
