"Angler is a Michelin-starred restaurant by Joshua Skenes located in the Beverly Center, known for its high-quality dining experience despite challenges posed by the pandemic." - Matthew Kang
"Chef Paul Chung’s fondest childhood memories with his mother, Gyeong-Hui Chung, involve farming, foraging, and fishing in Virginia. “Cooking together was our shared love language, and she has had such an incredible impact on my cooking style,” says Chung. His mother, who hails from Busan, South Korea, requests the same meal for every Mother’s Day and birthday: abalone rice porridge and Kentucky Fried Chicken. When Angler LA reopened in February, Chung, the culinary director of Saison Hospitality and the driving force behind the restaurant’s menu, created a dish that combines his mother’s longtime favorites. For the capon wing, abalone liver is incorporated into short grain rice and stuffed into a deboned wing, which crisps over fire and is served with a liver-fortified sauce." - Jean Trinh
"Angler, located at the Beverly Center, offers a menu focused on wood-grilled dishes like swordfish skewers, caviar-topped rice bowls, and hot chicken-fried sea bass collar. The restaurant has an energetic atmosphere." - Eater Staff
"After closing temporarily last summer, Angler is open again on the bottom floor of Beverly Center. The menu at this upscale seafood spot features a short list of raw dishes, grilled seafood, and some over-the-top cocktails that rely heavily on theatrics. As soon as you walk through the door, you'll be transported to what feels like a fishing lodge that just got a fancy revamp. There's taxidermy bass mounted on the walls, murky glass aquarium tanks dotted around the dining room, and a sleek open kitchen with a wood-burning hearth. While some dishes were great, others were underseasoned which, combined with the offbeat setting, made dinner at Angler confusing as it was enjoyable." - Nikko Duren
"On February 1, after months of retouching the dining room and overhauling its menu, Angler returned to LA." - Eater Staff
