"Winding steps to Amoudi Bay Put on some comfortable shoes and get a serious leg workout on the 350 steps that connect the cliffside town of Oia to the port at the base of Amoudi Bay. Visitors can grab a drink or calamari at one of the tavernas while watching fishing boats bring in fresh catches. There is a small dirt path that leads around the bend to a beautiful rocky, swimming spot that some fans may recognize from the movie, "The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants."

Beautiful villa. Staff were lovely and helpful. Johnny assisted us greatly. |Breakfast each day was yum. |Rooms were small but fine. Balcony was lovely and the view from it was beautiful. |The hike up and down stairs to top of Oia was not overly fun but was good as a morning exercise. Also that’s not the villas fault haha. |

Our stay at Amoudi Villa was fantastic. The view from our room was stunning. The hotel was clean, well kept and comfortable. The concierge (Johnny) was brilliant, serving us a great breakfast spread, providing info on activities available (boat tours from the bay for example), bringing us drinks if we didn’t feel like walking the stairs into town and booking our transport as needed. Great guy. ||The location was perfect for us. Being so close to the water and tucked away in the bay was great. For some people, using the stairs to get from the villa to the main area in Oia might be a challenge - but I couldn’t recommend this place more.

I can’t rave enough about Amoudi villas!! It took us months to pick out a Santorini hotel. We wanted something near Oia, a sunset view but were also mindful of costs and loads of tourists. This place hit all criteria! I believe it is the only in Amoudi bay. This was amazing! Mornings and evenings were peaceful- we left our windows wide open each night to hear the waves. Waking up to the sound and sight of the sea was the incredible.||The inn keeper was so sincere and helpful! He met us upon our late arrival, and helped make any reservations we needed. He arranged taxis and assisted when we spilled a bottle in our room. You need to give him a 10 minute heads up before receiving breakfast to your balcony- which was lovely! The best breakfasts we had in Greece with the most terrific view. ||The location is at the bottom of the steps in Oia. Our original plan was to walk the steps each time to go up and down, but this would have been cumbersome, and we would have been sweaty for dinners. However, the location wasn’t a deterrent. Taxis into the top of Oia were $15E which we did twice, but we spent a decent amount of time in Amoudi bay as well, which was so peaceful and authentic. ||

Beautiful views from the room, right on the water. We slept with the windows open and the sounds of the bay were relaxing and serene. There are great restaurants down in Amoudi bay, but keep in mind that for any shops or limited night life you’ll need to go up to Oía, which is 300 stairs up the mountain side. As long as your knees can take it, it’s a fun twist that adds to the adventure. Johnny, the manager of the villas, was super helpful for anything we needed. He brought us water and wine for a reasonable price, scheduled taxis for us, and booked us a spot on a catamaran cruise (highly recommended). This was a unique, beautiful, romantic place to stay in Santorini, and is much more quiet and secluded than Oía.

We stayed in the honeymoon suite.||The service was great. Very good room with a spacious bath inside and a jacuzzi outside the room. Despite the jacuzzi being outside, we had curtains so after sundown we were able to enjoy the view and relax in the jacuzzi outside. Very good breakfast spread. Also much cheaper than other similar hotels in Santorini offering similar view. Definitely recommend.

First of all, the pros of this hotel: We're 2 friends who stayed in their 2-bedroom 2-bath family room with a balcony facing the incredible view of the ocean. The rooms are of decent sizes, one has a window facing the ocean and has a bathroom in it. Another is on the back and the bathroom is next to the room. The young guy (I forgot his name, sorry) who worked there was friendly and helpful, whom we really appreciated. Every morning he also brought our breakfast up to our balcony after we told him that we're ready for breakfast. Breakfast was excellent--we stayed there for 3 nights and the hotel staff managed to give us a bit variety every morning. Rooms are clean in general but we found some random ants crawling on the living room floor. It's not too bad since it's almost an open space from outside so it's kind of understandable that some insects would get in. Also since it's away from where the usual crowds were, I guess it's nice if you don't like tourists peeking into your balcony or windows. ||Now, the cons: This hotel situated in Amoudi Bay... for people like us who had never been to Santorini before, it's hard to understand how the roads and places were really located despite searching on Google map. It's because Santorini is pretty much a mountain, and all the hotels/restaurants scattered on the hill, and there's actually only one main road on top of the hill, with branches going down to each hotel/restaurant. So this hotel is just in front of the ocean, which means if you want to go to the main road, you have to climb ALL THE WAY UP, and there's ONLY ONE WAY up. You can see my pic of a postcard I got, the circled place is where the hotel is, and the red lines indicates where you need to go in order to get to Oia "downtown..." And yes, it's a not-so-easy way up since the steps are quite large, and it's a bit tilted, and when the sun hits the spot, it's very hot. Oh, and it's alsy a donky road so be aware of donky poo poo on the steps... ||My rating for location is "poor," but it's not really the hote's problem if you like to stay in this location. However, for us who disliked walking long distance to downtown everyday, it's a bit of a disaster for us.

Amoudi Villas are quite simply paradise. Johnny's service and smile and laugh made our trip perfect. Oia and Amoudi Port are a slice of paradise that words cannot describe and Jo and I thank you from the bottom of our hearts for making our stay so memorable. Thank you. We will be back Dan & Jo xxx

This would have been a five star review except for one experience we encountered. First of all, the view really is as amazing as everyone else has said and the hot tub at night was wonderful. We also enjoyed breakfast as well as the fact that the sunset cruises end up at Amoudi so you can be right at your hotel. The only issue we had was with feeling like we were attempted to be scammed by the property manager John. We sent messages trying to get information about COVID tests to re-enter the US before we arrived and we’re consistently told that we could figure it out when we arrived. Once we arrived he said that they only option was to take a cab across the island (30 minutes each way for 45 euros each way) and that once there we would get the COVID test for free. When we asked if there were any other options he said no. We were disappointed but figured it wasn’t a big deal until later on when walking up in Oía and finding two places within walking distance that did rapid COVID tests for 20 euros. When talking to the doctor he told me there is no where on the island that would do a COVID test for free and that he had no idea why our hotel manager would recommend spending 90 euros and a lot of time driving across the island when there were facilities in town. We felt like he was trying to scam us and hook us up with one of his local taxi friends to make some extra money. We also found his attitude and overall tone during the rest of the trip to change after we declined his service and told him we scheduled them ourselves in town.
