"Rustic luxury is the vibe at Amansala, where all accommodations are cabana-style. How rustic? Well, lights go out at 11 each night, after which time candles provide illumination. Ocean breezes do the work that is relegated to air-conditioners at less eco-conscious hotels. Rooms are decorated with locally sourced materials, including driftwood and stones. Candles and incense are in-room amenities. The idea, says owner Melissa Perlman, is for guests to feel that they're staying at a friend's home rather than an anonymous hotel where they're just a room number. The hotel also hosts yoga retreats several times throughout the year, as well as detox cleanse packages and “Bikini Bootcamp” intensives for guests who want to get in shape."

Such an amazing eco friendly resort. The staff is so attentive. Amazing fresh excellent food for your body. And the crashing waves for the soul. A truly awesome experience. And the onsite dogs are a bonus. Relaxing massages. Such and beautiful way to slow down and recharge in this crazy busy world.

Amansala is an amazing resort situated in the heart of Tulum Hotel Zone. I was there for a yoga retreat and I had a wonderful time. The rooms were amazing and we had a view of both the pool and ocean, the staff was very friendly and accommodating and the food was wonderful. I loved the various spaces for yoga classes, they were all unique. They also offer various activities such as cacao sound bath and a temazcal ceremony. The ocean was unfortunately still overtaken with sargassum so not the crystal clear water I was hoping for but the onsite pools were really nice. I especially liked the pool at Chica, their sister resort just a couple minute walk down the beach.

We came here for a yoga retreat hosted by the wonderful Marcia Hoffheins! The staff is so sweet and accommodating. We did a workout and ice bath with Ryan and he is so gifted at the work he does here. The yoga accommodations are beautiful - overlooking the ocean. We also did a cacao ceremony and Mayan clay ceremony with Darleen and she was amazing as well. From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed by everyone. Fabian is so warm and welcoming as well — he handles the front area for transportation and baggage … what a great man! We will be back!

What a sad day. I have lived here for 5 years and Amansala is where I would bring huge groups of people to spend a ton of money. It’s where I spent Christmas Last year. I noticed the change last year, as I waited for my food to arrive I sat on a bean bag chair and they came and yelled at me for not buying a day pass. Today I went down to eat at the on the beach. As I waited for my server to bring the menu(i checked in at the front), I sat on my own towel on the ground. The staff came and said I’m not allowed without a day pass. It’s shocking because there are so many amazing places with great food like Sana, Delek etc but I thought I would go back and support amansala since I’ve been spending so much time Elsewhere. I will no longer be bringing my friends down to support this place. It’s such a shame. I have had some of my best memories here. Here are some photos from old times at Amansala before they became incredibly rude and unfair to loyal customers.

Amansala Yoga Resort is pure magic. Waking up to the sound of the ocean, rolling right into inspiring yoga classes, and refueling with fresh, delicious meals felt like a full reset for mind and body. The vibe is relaxed and welcoming—eco-chic without being fussy—and the staff genuinely goes above and beyond. My room was airy and spotless, the beach is steps away, and there are tons of thoughtful touches (cozy lounge spots and hammocks) that make it easy to unwind between yoga, beach walks, and spa time. I left stronger, calmer, and already planning my return. If you’re craving movement, community, and oceanfront serenity, this is the spot.

Amansala as an organization is admirable. Our visit was not only amazing but very welcoming. You can tell the staff actually values connecting with visitors. Yolanda, the yoga instructor was so so so helpful! We had great conversations & learned actionable skills within the yoga & wellness realm. Kitchen staff was also great, sharing conversation with us & checking up with us even on the deck when we weren’t eating. We were just in Hawaii & this place was twice as better.

My time at the Amansala was truly transformative. From the moment I arrived, I felt surrounded by magic — the ocean, the energy, and the people all created something unforgettable. This retreat brought together the most inspiring team of trainers: Ryan, Kun, Fernando, Sergio, and Yolanda (to name a few favourites) Each of them brought their own passion, wisdom, and heart to every session. Booking a Mayan healing massage with Maria Luisa is a must! Her energy and guidance left a lasting impact. Very grateful for this experience. Leaving with real friendships, powerful self-discovery, and a heart completely full🤍
