Google
The coffee and location are good. My only knock is the service. We arrived five minutes after our order was set to be ready. There were no customers in the store and it took a few minutes for the workers to acknowledge us. We ordered three drinks but they forgot one of them. Odd. But the coffee is good.

To Good To Go Review: Note on item purchased: Coffee was great, not acidic at all. I received 4 baked goods and a burrito. Everything was tasty! Good product great amount of food. The staff was great and there was seating outside that was shaded, which allowed me to enjoy a pastry and my cofee.

Google
The best Alfred store in the Valley! Such a good vibe inside the store, plus the outdoor seating and cute shops nearby. Coffee service is always quick and high quality, super friendly and personalble staff, everyone is really kind behind the counter. I'm from overseas and this is the closest I can find to a smooth European style cafe latte. Thank you Alfred!!

People in here are very nice and friendly! I came here a lot while I’m visiting:)

Google
The employees are kinda rude lol. Didn’t make any eye contact just seemed distracted with their own convo and just finish making the drink. It was also not busy and I felt so awkward. Drinks are good tho

Google
It's rare to find a coffee shop that can make a good cortado, the shots were pulled excellently and they didn't let them die. I'd recommend!

Camila Solito

Google
I loved the service especially I think the girl name was jasmine she helped me pick my drink for me and my bf since it was our first time there !☺️

Veronica Hart

Google
I really enjoy the dairy free and vegan options ! Really nice location to get my morning coffee at. I get my drinks half sweet to avoid an overly sweet drink.

Venetzy M.

Yelp
10/10 recommend Lavender latte - my go to. It's so delicious and their bagels are so good, you can taste the freshness.

Dan Bi W.

Yelp
The coffee is very mediocre for the price. The matcha was straight up just milk. I tried the burrito and it was super salty and not great at all. To be fair though, I waited to try it so it got a bit cold. The only thing I like is that they have convenient mobile ordering and that they are open before 7.

D K.

Yelp
The staff here are so rude, slow and just gossip all day. Why would anyone ever tip them?? I just left this place and the barista and the girl who was passing off drinks did not seem to care that they had prepared all their drinks and didn't bother to announce any names. And every customer who went up to ask had to double check their order because she was too lazy to check order and items. Be better.

Yelp
I discovered Alfred Coffee after finding them on TooGoodToGo, which I highly recommend checking out if you would like a cheap alternative to trying their pastries while minimizing food waste. Parking is a bit of a hassle, and there is metered parkin on the street, though a tad difficult during the brunch and afternoon hours. The nearby neighborhoods have free 2-hour parking if you don't mind walking a block or two. My go-to here has since been their iced lattes, which are DELICIOUS. They are best fresh and are the perfect blend of a bold flavor balanced with sweet whole milk. The staff here are always friendly and inviting and ready to answer questions. I enjoyed learning about two additional locations being open soon, one also in Studio City and the other in Encino. All in all, the small walk is definitely worth giving the food and coffee at Alfred Coffee a try. I used to think that it was all a trend / hype, but after trying it for myself, I'm glad that they do live up to the hype. And the best part? There's also free Wi-Fi! No indoor seating, though, so plan accordingly, especially if you need power outlets.

Alison D.

Yelp
I love alfreds, so lucky to live super close to one. I usually order their lattes but today I got a peach tea so delicious. And i got a raspberry matcha muffin, everything from alfreds is so good. I always prefer coming here compared to other chain coffee shops. The woman taking my order was so sweet, i didn't get her name but i wanted to say she deserves accolades for her excellent customer service.

Yelp
If it's Sunday and you're at Studio City Farmer's Market, you're likely to walk by or stop in at Alfred Coffee. It's a pretty popular cafe that gets a lot of foot traffic with a diverse crowd. You'll see different types of people from all backgrounds and ages all dressed comfortably for one thing -- coffee. When my wife and I had gone recently, it wasn't too busy and there was only a minor wait for our order. The staff working were all friendly and our drinks tasted perfect, shout out to Paul!

Breanna A.

Yelp
Came in this weekend since I was in the area and have always wanted to try Alfred coffee. I'm not much of a coffee drinker but everyone raves about it and saw their iced vanilla latte was popular so decided I had to try. Very cute interior, a small covered patio with seating, and friendly quick service. There is metered street parking available all around and seems like cars are constantly coming and going so shouldn't be too difficult to find parking during the day. Coffee was great! Not too sweet or too strong but just right. I wish I was more of a coffee lover but I would definitely return and try more of their drinks and pastries.

Ezra Ann Grace S.

Yelp
Kinda pricy but cute looking, good quality. I like that it comes unsweetened, there's options for flavors to be added. It's nice there's one in the valley now.

Yelp
Loved my iced coffee with honey and oat milk from here. Service is really fast and the farmer's market is right outside. Grab you a coffee and go shop and explore the unique and delicious local offerings.

Raya M.

Yelp
If only you knew how often I get this drink, I would say minimum twice a week. The drink is consistent and amazing every time and so is the service. It's always a nice and pleasant feeling to walk in and grab my order. My favorite drink is the iced matcha lavender latte w/oat milk. My favorite matcha drink!!

Krista C.

Yelp
We tried the world famous vanilla latte. Definitely a good choice. The shop is super cute and cozy. This location has street parking options. I would definitely suggest checking it out. Love this area.

Jenny A.

Yelp
Great spot for coffee and a pastry! Got the vanilla latte and it was delicious! Recommend checking this place out!

Alya L.

Yelp
If you like to drink cereal milk with a whisper of coffee flavor, then Mr. Alfred will serve you well. For being such a hyped up place, the vanilla latte was a mad let down. it straight up tasted like sweet milk. highly wouldn't recommend. philz is down the street, save your bucks for something better. i just paid $8 fucking dollars for milk when philz is $5 and is WAY better.

Janet K.

Yelp
Great ambiance and quick service. Nothing extraordinary but always a good spot to grab coffee. I choose Alfred over Starbucks when I'm in la or oc

Melissa W.

Yelp
BUT FIRST, COFFEE....TRULY! Since opening on Melrose Place in 2013, Alfred has made waves with sleek decors, killer customer service, and innovative coffee and tea drinks. I frequently go to the Studio City location and I am very excited they will have one walking distance from me in Sherman Oaks. They have your usual coffee and tea drinks but also some unique beverages/food/merch. What I especially like about them is all the partnerships they have and that they make fun drink sleeves to show the collaborations. I went today since they had a collab with CBS TV/Star Trek Picard for the Emmy FYC season and were giving out Earl Gray Tea, which could be made however you liked. This had to have been the best drink I have had!!! I ordered it so that it was like a London Fog Tea Latte (NF Milk and extra sweet). I also went a few days ago for their collab with CBC TV/ Colbert Report and got an Iced Coffee. They made it exactly how I like it. Whatever is in their simple sysyruprip is like magic. If you want to try a new coffee shop, please do give them a try!

MJ J.

Yelp
LA prices but the old famous vanilla latte was really good. I got the 12 oz but really appreciate they have the smaller 8oz. I felt like all I really needed was the 8oz because it still has the same amount of espresso in it.

Ingrid H.

Yelp
Great coffee and great service. Parking is a bit of a challenge, but that is to be expected in Studio City off of Ventura Boulevard. I see that there are other locations, so I definitely plan to add Alfred Coffee as one of my go to spots when I'm in a city where they're located.

Sara J.

Yelp
If you feel like spending $7+ on a coffee, go across the street to Blue Bottle instead because you'll actually get your money's worth. This is now my third time at this location & each time I'm greeted by the rudest staff members who treat you like it's your fault they have to work. Service is so unbearably slow, and the taste of the coffee is not worth the wait.

Kislev A.

Yelp
I'm not sure why my reviews won't stick. Been here often enough to try several items: GIBRALTAR - freaking awesome. Real shot of adrenaline. HOT LATTE - the espresso was strong, the milk was teamed to the perfect temperature. HOT MATCHA LATTE - the matcha does not taste like dirt. Read: good quality matcha tea. Outdoor seating only. I keep forgetting how different the vibe is here. It sounds like a lot of people use this coffee shop as a meeting venue. Parking is street parking only and there is a time of the day when they all suddenly disappear. Service is quick.

Alex J.

Yelp
I didn't have a great experience during my first visit, simply due to a drink issue with the iced vanilla latte. I decided to give Alfred another try and yes, this place is so 100% worth it. The vanilla latte is definitely the best I've had in LA. Great coffee paired with slightly sweet but super flavorful and strong vanilla that blends so well with the coffee. It's still refreshing without being overpowering. I'll definitely return for this over and over again

Courtney D.

Yelp
I got the opportunity to try Alfred's once again. Their customer service is great! I tried the Lavender Matcha iced latte this time around with whole milk. It was a very pleasant drink and no clumps. I often have clumps of matcha whenever I visit other cafe's. I'm glad I gave this establishment another try and will probably try their coffee next time.

Fatima S.

Yelp
Such a cute spot and their drinks are so well made! I've shown up early and their baristas are always extremely kind! I tried the Chagaccino for the first time and it was delicious!

Yelp
This is hands down the best Alfred. May has single handedly impacted not only my life and well being but I'm positive, so many others. Since she's come on board (way back when - this update is so long overdue). May built rapport with me and others from literally one week to the next. She knew me by face, name (spelled correctly which everyone always butchers) and order. She brightens everyone's day and whatever she's being paid deserves it 10x over. May makes your coffee and tea experience the type that impacts your overall day/life. She's really just the absolute best. This Alfred has always managed to hire great folks but May is so deserving of a little Yelp review recognition for her service. All in all, everything about this Alfred is 5 STAR. I visit quite often. My current fav drinks are their iced oat matchas with simple syrup, or the Oatnog holiday latte. Their 8oz vanilla or oat latte are my other cold day go to's and iced oat lattes on warmer sun shiny days. I order via mobile app a majority of the time but sometimes order in store. Drinks are almost always ready on arrival, if they aren't and May is there her demeanor and kindness make the most impatient person in the world (me!) feel at ease with waiting a few more minutes. It's truly miraculous the vibe and aura she gives off to the community. Fantastic Alfred! Highly recommend tossing into your coffee or tea rotation if you're in the area. I always walk here from home on my neighborhood walk but there is metered parking out front. Thank you May and Alfred Studio City, extremely grateful for you.

Yelp
This is a brand new coffee shop in the outdoor mall on Ventura Blvd. at Coldwater Canyon. We took our daily 3 mile walk and decided to stop here as we hadn't seen it before. My wife got an iced mocha with oat milk and I got a chocolate chunk cookie, both of wish were delish. The server, Alfred R on the receipt, was friendly, helpful and we had a fun conversation. This is definitely a place to go for coffee if you live in the Sherman Oaks/Studio City and there is parking in the back and below.

Giselle C.

Yelp
Good coffee (love the matcha latte) and I like the location since it's right off Laurel Canyon Blvd. However, it can sometimes feel too L.A. scene-y and depending on the barista, they'll be snobby if you don't fit into that hipster aesthetic

Adam K.

Yelp
I don't get it. Okay? I'm not a coffee snob, I'm not a hipster, so I just don't "get" Alfred coffee. I mean, it's good... But it isn't SPECTACULAR. It seems like good cup of coffee (or whatever drink you're getting) for double the price of what you would pay somewhere else. There's also very little seating (I don't think there's any inside). I understand that most people are coming in, grabbing a coffee, and then heading out, but if I'm going to a coffee shop like Alfred's I want to sit down. If I'm just "on the go" I bring my coffee from home. This is also a very confusing geographical location to review. It's a nightmare to drive to, there's very limited parking anywhere close by (you can park in the Vons lot and walk over), but on the other hand it's very walkable, which is nice. So I guess it all comes out in the wash? "Hip" people love this place. I just must not be "hip". It's good.

Luisa P.

Yelp
I was working an event here and tried their ice coconut caramel matcha latte and The Rico burrito with their spicy sauces. I was so upset when I got too full to eat because it was so good. Not only was it delicious, but the staff here are so sweet and accommodating. I wish I lived nearby this location because the vibes were so welcoming and energetic. I will definitely be coming back to Alfred's whenever I get the chance

Joshua E.

Yelp
I often order caramel cappuccino from you, whether hot or cold, and it's usually delicious. However, today I had an extremely unpleasant experience. My drink was incredibly bitter, with no trace of the caramel syrup I expected. When I asked to have it made as delicious and balanced as usual, they added so much syrup that it became unbearable to drink. Unfortunately, I had to throw the coffee away. I can confidently say that I've never had such an experience here before. I'm very disappointed with the service this time. Why turn a perfectly good coffee into trash when you could have just made it as delicious as usual? Or is it your policy to ruin the drink if a customer isn't satisfied? Do you spit in the food if something doesn't meet their expectations?

Patricia D.

Yelp
After brunch we walked over to grab some caffeine from the well talked about Alfred Coffee in Studio City. The outside is beautiful, a white brick shop with vines growing over it and the Alfred's sign. Staff was very kind, helpful and positive. I ordered a hot matcha latte, EXTRA matcha, half sweet with honey (the do not have agave) and my friend ordered an iced dirty chi latte. We took a few sips and were amazed at how horrible it tasted. We tossed out the entire drink. Matcha latte even though ordered extra matcha barley had any flavor. And half sweet with honey somehow over powered the matcha. So the end result was a weird honey flavored watered down matcha. Dirty chi latte was so watered down with barley any chi flavor. I spent $21 on coffee just to dump it out. If you like watered down, no flavor, overpriced coffee, this is the spot.

Nik F.

Yelp
I showed up 10 minutes before you were closing and walked into a lively conversation between a, shorter, 20-year-old guy with brown, longish hair at the register and a guy in his 30s in yellow with a brown beard behind him. The guy at the register gave me the stink guy, and I thought, "what the hell".I always come here. I've never gotten weird vibes from anybody. It was so bad. I just walked out. Anyways I thought Manager might like to know the Studio City store does not feel comfortable. Bad vibes and stink eyes.

Diana N.

Yelp
I Love their food and World famous vanilla latte. BUT the person who takes the orders constantly confuses something and because of this I have to wait longer for my order. Recently they gave my order to someone else and because of this mistake I had to wait 15 minutes longer for my order. They also gave me a free drink card after this situation. Atmosphere is so so, design could be better. But still : Vanilla Latte and Rico burrito is my favorite

Maria D.

Yelp
Even though I always get perfect coffee at Alfred's, but today's was a little disappointing. My first sip, which I expected to be sweet and full of vanilla was bitter. I saw that the vanilla syrup was sitting at the bottom, unstirred. I've prepared lattes before and was taught to pour the milk and then to add the flavors and espresso last. Maybe I should order that was next time. I was a bit disappointed but... BUT the banana walnut bread definitely compensated. It was so chewy and spongy and full of chocolate chips with the taste of fresh bananas. I'll be back soon with higher hopes! Thank you guys

Kylie H.

Yelp
My favorite iced coffee and cortado also the matcha is amazing. I'm not a huge fan on sweeteners so I get matcha plain and still love the taste. They're always super friendly at this location. Love it!

Courtney S.

Yelp
Nothing but great things to say about this location. Staff here are wonderful, drinks are consistent. I highly suggest their vanilla syrup in the matcha, heaven!

Trismegistus _.

Yelp
I just paid $9 for a coffee and they have no bathrooms. I feel like it should be standard for a coffee shop to have a bathroom. If you're gonna charge more than Starbucks you have to compete on a basic level..IMO!

Johana H.

Yelp
Overpriced and watery drinks. I got the iced vanilla latte with Madagascar milk and it was so watered down. $7 I also got a decaf iced vanilla latte with Oatmilk also pretty plane Jane. But I thought maybe cause it's decaf but no. The one I got with caffeine was probably even worse. Also parking isn't that convenient. Don't think I'll be coming back to this location but maybe another one cause everyone hypes it up but I still don't see why.

Shilpa D.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of their homemade flavors syrups in an oat milk latte! Just got their homemade lavender latte and it was great - not too sweet. Their breakfast burrito on the other hand tasted like a microwaved burrito you would get at a fast food place (except that it's $12). Definitely will not be getting this again. It had a little avocado, egg, cheese, not tasty hash browns and was definitely microwaved cuz it had some thick rubbery parts as a result. But I'll be back for a latte for sure!

Love H.

Yelp
The worst breakfast burrito I've ever had. The whole thing was slimy and the ingredients were disgusting and tasted old, the avocado was fake and hard .

Francesca C.

Yelp
Love this place! Great friendly staff and fast service!!! Best coffee I've had in a while.

Mitra A.

Yelp
Wonderful spot. Great service. Great drinks. Lovely neighborhood. I love the hot vanilla late with whole milk.

Philip M.

Yelp
First time coming to this place and I was satisfied. Ordered a vanilla latte that was pretty good compared to others I've had. There was also a food truck that happened to be there so that was good. The Yeastie Boys, Bagels food.

Lea P.

Yelp
This past week, I went in to get a cold brew and was helped by a young lady named Jasmine. She was a super cool barista with an incredibly funny vibe and amazing coffee knowledge. She even recommended a completely different drink! Thank you, Jasmine, for taking the time to share and connect. I'll be back!

Robert H.

Yelp
Walked in and was greeted by a very polite and beautiful lady Named Gabriella who took our order and was suggesting to try out the Matcha! To my amazement it was very good! Love supporting this Spot. Keep up the amazing service!

John Michael C.

Yelp
I lost a pair of eyeglasses in my neighborhood in Studio City a couple of years ago. I assumed they were lost for good, and bought a replacement pair. Weeks went by and I'd nearly forgotten about the old lost glasses until one day they suddenly appeared placed on a small brick wall next to Alfred Coffee--a coffee shop just around the corner from my apartment. "What great luck!", I thought to myself. I took the glasses home immediately, washed them off, and wore them that very night. A few days went by and all was fine until one night I was abruptly awakened at 3am to the sound of someone knocking urgently at my door. I refused to open it assuming it was just a lost/confused person at the wrong apartment, but after the knocking continued much longer I got closer to the door and realized that they were saying something. I leaned in and put my ear close to the door--the sound of the knocking nearly deafening--and heard them say "Please open up, please! Please, it's your optometrist! It's an emergency!". There's no way this could actually be my optometrist, and what sort of optometrist knocks on someone's door at 3am, I thought to myself. But, just to make sure, I yelled out, "if you're really my optometrist, you would know my prescription! What is my prescription?" A moment of silence went by, and all of a sudden I heard a low voice say "right eye negative 2.25, left eye negative 2.25". Shocked by the accuracy of the voice's answer, I scrambled to unlock the door. The door swung open and to my surprise, absolutely no one was there! I was a bit confused to say the least, but after a few minutes I decided to just lock the door and go back to bed. Hours of tossing and turning went by, and I eventually checked the time; it was nearly 6am, so I got up and got ready for the day. Cold brew coffee was on my mind. Still groggy from the rough night of sleep, I walked around the corner to Alfred and ordered a large cold brew. The service was impeccable, and I had a very nice time sitting on the patio enjoying the delicious 24oz drink. It was exactly what I needed after such a weird night. With only ice left in the cup, I stood up to throw it away and head out, but was surprised to see something written on the side of the clear cup in black ink which was previously masked by the color of the dark cold brew. I took a closer look and saw that handwritten on the side of the cup was "R -2.25, L -2.25". What? How? Why?! I was totally impressed. The level of service and attention to detail, not to mention the absolutely delicious cold brew coffee, made for an all around positive experience. I've been coming back here nearly every day since!

Mailani S.

Yelp
I am only giving this a four because the espresso is very strong. I love lattes, especially vanilla and lavender lattes. They always taste good, but to me, whenever I mix the milk and coffee from Alfred's it is always extremely strong. Otherwise I love it!

Gustavo M.

Yelp
Alfred's coffee is a must-visit! The coffee is top-notch, and the atmosphere is both trendy and welcoming. A perfect spot for caffeine enthusiasts.

Ashley Y.

Yelp
Over hyped. It's not that good and they don't have any house made almond milk. If they get house made almond milk then I will try it again.

Jay R.

Yelp
Went on a holiday morning with some family. The place had a good vibe, great customer service, coffees came out immediately, and everything we ordered was tasty. Would recommend!
