Album Studios: Geary

Album Studios on Geary Ave is a gem for photographers. The well-equipped and spacious studio provides a comfortable setting for shoots. The designated changing and makeup areas are thoughtful additions. It’s easily one of my favorite studios in the city. They also offer excellent studio rentals with a variety of spaces to accommodate different creative needs. A top choice for any photographer or creative professional!

Lyza and the Album Studios team made my dream wedding come true! My husband and I got engaged in May of this year and quickly started looking for a place to host our wedding. We visited a couple of places, but none of them felt like us. That is until we came across Album Studios. As soon as we stepped inside, we knew it was the place. Lyza's charming personality only further convinced us that we were in the right place and pretty much sealed the deal! Working with Lyza has been an absolute pleasure. Since the very beginning she was incredibly helpful and I could tell she was genuinely invested in giving us the best possible experience. To say that we made a lot of changes is an understatement, but through it all Lyza was incredibly gracious. Anytime we had any questions she was quick to answer and to help with anything we needed. As much as you try to plan, things will unavoidably go wrong on your wedding day. However I had absolutely no idea. Lyza and her team did an incredible job making sure I never knew anything was wrong and I am so thankful to them. I am a very anxious person and no doubt knowing any of this might have sent me over the edge on an already very stressful, but wonderful day. I later found out how the rental company I had hired (separately) had done a terrible job of delivering the items we asked for. However Lyza and her team made it so that no one could even tell something was wrong! I can only imagine the stress they underwent, but even then, their main priority was making sure the bride was having a good time. I am so thankful Lyza was there to make sure our wedding ran smoothly and on schedule. It was a beautiful night and I received endless compliments about Lyza, her staff and the venue. It is truly a night we will never forget.

My now husband and I held our small wedding ceremony and reception at Album Studios and the experience working with Album and event staff was nothing but exceptional. Their organization and orderliness and being able to deliver a seamless experience to us and our guests while being relaxed and composed and constantly reassuring was a master class in event planning. The space is bright and beautiful and we couldn’t have asked for a better place to work with. I highly recommend having your small wedding here, you would be placed in such good hands.

Great rental studio that feels like an art gallery when you walk in and then pleasantly surprises and opens up into 3 seperate studio spaces. Fun place to shoot editorials and corporate content+. Bonus, they have an in-house /next door prop house which is very convenient when filming there!

If you're looking for an affordable studio with proffesional gear and amazing service, this is the right place for you. The place offeres few space options, and the one we got was great, with lots of natural light and access to amenities like fully equipped kitchen, makeup table, washrooms and a coffee bar. As we arrived the staff welcomed us with freshly baked bread and jam as well as a selection of hot and cold beverages. Theres a loading zone and reserved parking at the back of the studio. Will definitely come back for more shoots.

we had our wedding reception here - about 45 people - and it was everything we could've asked for lyza was AMAZING and with us every step of the way. her and the team took the stressful parts off of us and made the planning so easy, and the setup was executed beautifully! the space was perfect for our size and our guests commented on it all night but again i want to thank lyza - we appreciate you so much, you are very passionate about your work and it showed through the whole process. your help at the end of the night saved us too!! 100% recommend for an intimate event. i'm hoping we can come up with an excuse to have another one here in a few years 🫶

We have hosted our annual fundraiser with Album Studios for two years in a row and both years have been great experiences! Studio A and Studio D are great both spaces to have an event. The Album Studios team was professional and very helpful when planning and setting up for our event. The space is beautiful and in a great location. Our events included a band and an SOP bar, and both Studios were equipped to make these parts of the event go off without a hitch! Would highly recommend Album Studios for your next event. We will definitely be back.

My friend held his wedding ceremony here and at first I was confused how it could be done in a photography studio, but it was so gorgeous and chic! Great natural lighting that shines through the full length window from terrace outside. Terrace is also a lovely spot for outdoor pictures as it has a full living garden wall backdrop. Is a smaller venue however so only good for smaller parties.

We did our July 2014 wedding in Studio A and couldn't have been happier with the outcome. Album's awesome staff helped us navigate everything from the timing we would need for set-up and cleaning to event insurance and the Special Occasions Permit. We loved the unique atmosphere of the indoor/outdoor space and so did our guests. They even provided us with a bartender for a very reasonable cost. Having a wedding in a non-traditional place also requires a bit more 'leg-work' but in the end it was entirely worth it and Album made it as easy as possible. Highly recommend for events.

I was looking for a space to have my birthday bash and stumbled upon Album Studio Rentals this month. It was a very last minute decision but the price was decent and the staff presented very competent of their abilities to meet my needs at first however; I was warned of the staff an their in-competencies by another friend of mine who used them for her photography sessions but I didn't know it was going to be this bad. I was in constant correspondence with 1 lead staff member but she was only available on weekdays. I was not able to come on weekdays so I had booked an appointment with weekend staff on Saturday to come in and see the space before I committed. I had booked to get a tour with 1 female staff on the phone for an 8pm booking and it was confirmed that a staff member would be there. Commuting for 2 hours to see this space is not easy in Toronto traffic but I did so and when I got there, Album Studio was in complete darkness. I had left 5 voicemails and stayed there for 30 minutes to realize nobody was coming to meet me. I had left a note on the entrance door in hopes that someone would return my call and explain the no-show on their part but no call was made. I happened to make the return on Sunday to follow up and not one staff knew of the note I left or any idea of the booking I had the night before. This incident was passed onto the lead staff I was in contact with and for my inconveniences, I was compensated for $200 off my contracted price. As scheduled, I had my party on the night I asked for with a cleaning fee of $150 waived because I assured that I would be able to clean the space and put it back the way I found it and a fee waived for holding space for extra table and chairs i had rented. The space was rented until 3am. Due to the fact that I had cleared all my guests out by 3am and was ensuring that everything was cleaned and put back as found and confirmed by the staff onsite, I had left the space at 3:30am, the lead staff decided to tack on $150/hr onto my contract. I contested this fee as my party ended at 3am, all guests were out, I cleaned up to the point of perfection and confirmed with staff that the space was sufficient as found and I was not inconveniencing anyone after that time to say that anyone needed that space for that time and despite of the discount I got, the staff insisted that any time even as little as 5min after 3am would have warranted $150/hr. These people are not only sloppy and incompetent when it comes to communications between each other but now they are simply greedy for money. They provided such a "huge" discount that reflected their mistake and now grabbed a part of that very discount of $200 which makes no sense. I was even trying to negotiate to be fair as it is simply business but to pro-rate it to $75 to be technical and they insisted it is $150 which makes no sense as everyone was out as part of my guestlist and even the security guard was gone by 3am. This will be my first and last time EVER using this space. HIGHLY not recommended unless you want to donate free money to them as they are tremendously hungry for it.
