Al Bustan Palace, a Ritz-Carlton Hotel

The hotel restaurant was fantastic, offering a wide selection of dishes ranging from local specialties to European and international cuisine. The staff were very kind and accommodating. The beach, pool, and towel service were excellent. They catered to all our needs and were very attentive. Unfortunately, cleanliness in the rooms was a major issue. We were a group of eight people, staying in three rooms for eight days. Upon arrival, the room was dirty, with a noticeable layer of dust. After five days, we found a dead cockroach on the floor, which we understand can happen in this climate, but it was still unpleasant. During cleaning, the staff swept a razor from under a cabinet and placed it on the shelf as if it were ours, which it certainly was not. In the adjacent room, my relatives found a tampon under the bed. Additionally, we had to remind the staff three times to restock toilet paper, which ran out every two days because we were only given two rolls for three people. This should be automatic, and we shouldn’t have to keep asking. Furthermore, the spa, located next to the fitness center, did not meet the standards of a five-star hotel. Both the sauna and steam room were in very poor condition, showing significant wear and lacking proper cleanliness.

The Ritz-Carlton is a beautiful hotel with a stunning interior and very friendly staff. They go out of their way to make your stay comfortable, and the overall atmosphere is truly luxurious. That said, I was really disappointed with their transportation service. They don’t allow third-party taxis, which makes things very inconvenient. Instead, they use their own cars, which are five times more expensive than a regular taxi—and the cars aren’t even good quality. For a hotel of this standard, I expected much better. When you’re paying such a high price to stay at the Ritz-Carlton, you expect everything to match that level of quality, including transportation. Sadly, this wasn’t the case, and it took away from what could have been a perfect experience. I hope they improve this in the future.

This is a stunning resort nestled in the mountains of Muscat near the Parliament building.||||There is a building is striking and there is a one kilometre long beach with attractive water of the Gulf of Oman in front. There is a lobby is breathtaking - a soaring ceiling with chandeliers and comfortable seating.||||There is a rooms are well sized with all necessary amenities and decent balcony areas.||||There are multiple restaurants on site, several swimming pools including dedicated kids’ pool, a great spa and fitness centre and more. There is also an extensive shopping area on the ground level.||||The staff were very good and arranged taxis as we required.||||We had a great stay.

Rooms are a bit old and staff take very long time to answer any request. I went to the reception to ask for something and they said they will bring it to the room then I had to call them for a couple of times for like 2 hours and I never received it… and the rooms are so small. Also you are forced to take the hotel cab, you’re not allowed to order a cab and it costs x10 the price The only nice thing is the views and the breakfast. As a convoy member who travels a lot, the value for money is not worth it.

From the moment we stepped into Al Bustan Palace, we were transported into a world of luxury reminiscent of a grand palace. The massive lobby, adorned with exquisite Omani-inspired architecture, and elegant chandeliers, beautifully reflects the rich cultural heritage of Oman, setting a regal tone for our entire stay. We had the pleasure of staying in a lagoon room, which provided a tranquil retreat. The room was spacious and beautifully appointed, offering stunning views that enhanced our relaxation experience. I would like to extend a special thanks to Ruwan, our housekeeping attendant, for his attentive service, and to Decz, who expertly assisted us with our floating breakfast experience. Both went above and beyond to ensure our stay was seamless and enjoyable. The breakfast selection was impressive, featuring a delightful array of options, and dining on the outdoor terrace overlooking the picturesque swimming pool added to the charm of our meals. The serene atmosphere, with the backdrop of the beautiful sea, made it a perfect spot for unwinding. Overall, Al Bustan Palace is a stunning hotel that combines luxury with exceptional hospitality, accentuated by its unique Omani touch in every detail. It’s a haven for relaxation, and we are already looking forward to our next visit. Highly recommended!

I have been coming to the Al Bustan Palace for years now enjoying the afternoon tea. The service, ambience and food is simply wonderful. Thank you to the entire team for their attentiveness and care. You make each visit special. Always worth a trip.

Had very high expectations for this property. The grounds are beautiful, and the breakfast also great. Service was a little lacking for this type property, as were some of the common areas. There’s really not much to do at the hotel. It’s a bit of a snooze fest. If you’re comfortable with only relaxing / sleeping, then this might be a good fit. For as far as this property is from the city center, it was easy to get bored quite often. No programs or things to do hosted by the resort

As we returned a week ago from our 6th stay at this exceptional hotel, I was thinking about what I could possibly say in my review that might add to my comments about “our home in Muscat” of May 25, 2024. Not much really. Everything I said then still applies: upon our arrival we stepped into a cocoon of friendliness combined with top-class service, being welcomed back on our first day by so many employees, each with a warm smile and cordial greetings. ||All was the same as last time. The stunning architecture, the beautifully appointed rooms, the scent of frankincense everywhere you go. Every morning Ali and Najma pampered us in the Al Khiran restaurant, increasing our great enjoyment of the superb breakfast buffet (compliments once more to the pastry chef: your filled cubed croissants are simply out of this world!). Then, during the day at the beach, there was our dear Blu Bar Team again, taking care of our every wish. Our heartfelt thanks, as usual, to Ganesh, Pradeep, Nasser, Bandana and Seda, now supported by their new colleagues Altynai and Utsav. We do so enjoy our many conversations with you! Not to forget, of course, the inimitable Khalid together with Khem and Firoz in the Beach & Garden area, making sure we have everything we need at all times. We even ran into our room attendant from last time, Mohammed Riyadh, now responsible for evening turndown, who spoiled us with flowers and chocolate – so kind of you! Thanks, too, to Ciloni and Valeria at Reception, who made check-in so pleasant, and to Maria, as well, during check-out, who eased our sadness at having to leave!||All these people - yes, the soul of any hotel. But we have realized there is another reason why we love Al Bustan Palace – it’s because it remains a haven of continuity in terms of beauty and service. It doesn’t stand still, but it also doesn’t unnecessarily change things that have made guests feel comfortable in the past. This balancing act is certainly a great achievement in today’s world of conflicting interests and economic constraints, and is surely only possible through a combination of wise management and a deep commitment to excellence on the part of the staff. Enough reason for us to keep coming back!
