Most of the bread is usually sold out before closing time. When I visited just before 5 pm, there were only three cake options left. I decided to try the Mocha cake, which I had never tasted before. Despite expecting it to be among the cheapest options at $18, I was pleasantly surprised by its quality. Although I typically opt for chocolate, I thoroughly enjoyed the Mocha cake. I'll definitely be coming back for more soon! I like their non fried red bean bread. If you need to buy this red bean bread, it's better to go there before 10am.

I always buy the buns when I pass by that area because they are freshly made every day. 🥰 They sell out quite fast, especially on the weekends. They are perfect for breakfast and tea. Not only do they sell buns, but they also sell cake. My must-buy food is their cookie egg tarts, as I can't resist any egg tarts due to their crunchy crust. I also bought their garlic bun, curry chicken, and curry beef bun.😋

The egg tarts are perfect, but I also enjoy their more adventurous flavours, like the pineapple buns or Japanese cheesecake. The customer service is excellent, and they always make you feel like a valued customer. Can’t wait for my next visit!

Really love this bakery for fresh baked and delicious breads and sweets. Their fresh cream cakes are really nice, lot of icing but its not too sweet at all. The sizes are on the smaller size. I would recommend the mocha cake, coconut buns and tarts, and the coffee Swiss roll cake. Make sure to get there early and definitely check their times, things sell out really quickly. Also for all my muslims, the white bread and some other buns contain lard so if you can ask them before buying - shout out to the worker who told me, bummed out though because they used to not use it but after the owner changed they have.

Though quite unassuming, this place is an absolute gem. Everything is quite affordable, tastes great and comes with good service. We picked up 3 larger pastries and a flavoured roll cake for $11 flat. Be sure to try the raisin roll, the strawberry roll cake, the mango and coconut buns. Will have to try the mixed fruit cakes next time…

The prices are very good, everything is mostly under 2 dollars!!!! The shop has good customer service as they say hello and know about the sweets. They have a variety of buns from savoury to sweet, the buns are really soft especially if warmed up. The beef curry bun was delicious as it wasn’t too oily and had a crunchy texture on the outside, although it was less of a curry and more of a Jamaican beef patty filling taste. The mango bun was absolutely soft and had a nice smooth filling that satisfies the need for mango. The walnut bun was okay, the dough was sweet but not too sweet and the filling had walnut paste with a bit of walnut pieces, it is less sweet than the others. The Red bean SnowBall/ Mochi was delicious because it had the tasty desiccated coconut on top and was superrrrr soft (compared to other Mochi I have tried). The Red Bean paste inside isn’t too sweet but just the right touch. I’d complain however that the white surrounding part isn’t sweet at all so alone it feels like jello and no actual sweetness. I’d only complain that when I went there was for some reason very low stock on a lot and therefore I had few choices to select. Would come here again (THEY ALSO HAVE HUGEWE CUSTARD BUNS AND CHINESE PINEAPPLE BUNS)

Excellent customer service and variety of cakes and buns. Freshly made. Ordered the mix fruit cake which was exceptional. The cream used was light and fresh. Variety of bakery products in reasonable prices.

I travel from Milton just for this place! They’re the best! I always buy hot dog, ham/cheese, pineapple etc buns. Always fresh and yummy!!! I try to go early (at opening or before noon) and they normally sell out by mid afternoon. I appreciate the low price as well. Buns average from $1.50-$3.50 for trays. At the outlet that place charges over $3 for a bun… I recommend!!

I placed an order for a cake on a Thursday for pickup on the weekend. (I'm not sure if they have a website of all their cakes or not, but I did go in to scout their options ahead of time to see what they had). It was a seamless ordering process and the prices were great for a very yummy cake; my order was a 9" mango mousse cake for only $33! Cakes aside, they also had a variety of savoury and sweet buns and pastries. They were also constantly filling up their shelves with new fresh ones as each customer was buying so many things at a time.

We have been going to Akko for Chinese buns and pastries for years. We have tried almost all their Chinese buns, a few of their Cakes, and even their Japanese Cheesecake. The buns are always fresh and if you arrive at the right time, they are still hot out of the oven. They have a large selection of the typical buns offered at other Chinese bakeries such as BBQ Pork, Beef, Curry, Egg and Ham, and Coconut (I don't want to list them all). We usually come on the weekends, which is busy, but they constantly re-stock the supply of buns. We have purchased their cakes from time to time for special occasions, which are also good and fresh. The selection is typical for what you find in most Chinese bakeries. It is difficult to describe, but Chinese cakes are a bit different than the European and North American cakes as they are usually topped with fruit, tend to be less sweet, and the icing, although creamy, is also less sweet. This is not a bad thing, just a general difference in Chinese vs Western style cakes. The service is quick and efficient. Even when the place is busy, we are never waiting in like to pay for more than a few minutes. I highly recommend this bakery for good fresh Chinese buns, pastries, and cakes. Tip: This a cash only place.

My boyfriend took me to this place, he had placed an order for a cake, for a friend's birthday. I would never have known the bakery have been there, I've been to the plaza many times before, it is very hidden away. As you open the door, you are hit with such a beautiful aroma of fresh baked goods. I literally drooled and tried to hold myself together. Staff are friendly and extremely happy, they are so welcoming. They are reasonably priced, I find the baked goods are a little smaller than most bakeries. I ordered with my eyes and my nose. I couldn't help myself. But it is worth it. Definitely would come back.

Love almost all the baked goods especially the Chinese cupcakes they make on Saturday and Sunday. I'm a mini coconut bun lover and have to attest they make a pretty tasty mini coconut tray especially when it's nice and warm. The open until 5pm bit be forewarned that they are out of most baked goods by 1:30-2:00. We also love their fruit cake (birthday cake). Very fresh and not too sweet.

The only bad thing about this place is that they run out of stuff fast. It's a testament to how good everything is.

Ok why haven't I come here before! This is a tiny cake house in a plaza by the Erindale go station. We stopped here after having dinner. We went in 30 mins before closing so a lot of the stuff was already sold out. We picked up a few items that were there - coconut tart, mini custard bun, butter roll, chocolate mousse, mango mousse, sponge cake. They actually give you 13% off if you get 6 or more items. Every pastry we tried was simply amazing. The sponge cake was my favourite- it was so moist and fluffy and amazing. I would love to come back in the morning when there is a full stock and try more items!!

VEGAN OPTIONS - I don't remember seeing any I came here on a mission for coconut buns, and this place did NOT disappoint! They have individual buns. They have trays of buns. They have bags of buns. They have the buns! I got a mango bun that was more bun, less filling. The pineapple custard bun was ok. But the coconut buns that I came for - they were *satisfying*!!! The filling was a great texture and was spread evenly allll the way through! Sometimes coconut buns only have a small amount of filling right in the middle, but the buns here had filling in every bite from end to end. The woman working the counter gave me great tips for freezing and reheating. I wanted to try the Japanese cake that everyone raves about, but they only sell it as a whole cake, and it was too much for me to take at that time. I will try it next time I come back though. And I will definitely be back for the coconut buns again!

This review is for their Japanese cheesecake. We came in at 8:30 AM just as soon as the Japanese cheesecakes were ready and fresh. We ordered 3 cheesecakes. Each is only $7. The cheesecake is delicious and not too sweet. Not as sweet as Uncle Tetsu. It is very rich and really filling. If I am craving Uncle Tetsu's would definitely just go here instead. I recommend trying out their japanese cheesecakes. This is a much cheaper alternative and bonus: you can get as many as you want! Review 29 of 100

***This review is primarily for Akko's version of Japanese cheesecake, made popular by places like Uncle Tetsu/Love Me Sweet.*** I've gone here for decades, but less often in the recent years well, because...eating sweet breads ain't the best for my waistline. Once in a while though, for breakfast/snack, it's ok! Anyway, based on a recommendation of a friend/Yelp reviews, I found out that Akko makes Japanese cheesecakes as well. A coupla weeks ago, I tried Love Me Sweet's (Markham) version. And I have had a piece of Uncle Tetsu's cheesecake months ago. Honestly, there wasn't much difference between Tetsu's Vs. LMS ($11, no limit). Both were light, fluffy, slightly cheesy. Tetsu has at least 2 flavours, while LMS has a coupla too, but the day/time I visited, there was only Original left. I don't know how much Tetsu's is 'cause I refuse to stand in that crazyass line, then be limited as to the number of cakes I can buy. All marketing hype, methinks, similar to when they pull out that velvet rope, and have some intimidating security guard outside a club! Akko's version? Only $7, no line whatsoever, although if they sell out, you may hafta wait for the second batch (what happened to me), only 1 flavour, same light 'n fluffy texture, BUT less sugary/cheesy. I actually didn't taste any/much cheesy. So the version you prefer really depends on your palate. Honestly, I think this is more than a solid replacement if you can't, or like me, refuse to jump through hoops to experience Uncle Tetsu's! Bakery seems to be family-run, only Chinese ladies are always replenishing the buns with hot ones, so why not support local?

I'd have to agree that this place is pricier than other Chinese bakeries in the GTA, but the straight-out-of-the-oven freshness of the pastries and buns make up for it. Be warned that it isn't a large bakery (selection is smaller than average), but what they do, they do decently. I've visited this place many times growing up, and they're always quite busy, especially on the weekends. My most recent visit was on a Saturday afternoon, and they had just restocked shelves of pastries that emptied out by lunchtime. I picked up a tray of warm coconut buns (soft and deliciously chewy) and a couple of large almond cookies ($1.00 each). They also have an assortment of other pastries that include chinese donuts, Japanese cheesecakes, egg tarts, fruit cakes, butter cookies, and a selection of buns. Overall, the selection is average, and presentation isn't the most organized, but whatever they do have is nice and fresh. Not a bad option for Chinese pastries and buns in Mississauga (close to Square One, and right beside Erindale GO station). There's ample parking, as it's located in a large plaza.

We used to live in Mississauga & went to this bakery very often for their swiss rolls & their coconut buns. They were the best we have ever had. We now live on PEI & miss this bakery so much! Can't wait to do a road trip!

It was better in the past. The cakes are lack of substance recently and the buns are not as good as before. The little cupcakes used to be my favourite, but they are not that attractive anymore. I was told that the bakery has changed hand and the baker is not the same as the original one. Maybe this is the reason. Will go there again to see if there is any improvement. Even not, the quality is not bad - at least the location is convenient.

BEWARE when you buy swiss rolls! Bought a coffee+vanilla swiss cake roll... Some issues I found: 1) the coffee section of the roll was so dense 2) the cake was definitely NOT fresh. *Also, the Napoleon cake roll was NOT fresh-tasting. Who knows how long that has been sitting there. It was dense + not crispy at all. They should have known better than to sell this cake roll. Dishonest. I think they should be transparent about when the cake was made by stamping on the ACTUAL date the cake was created on the box, otherwise no one would know how MANY DAYS the CAKE ROLL has been sitting there. Never will I go there again to buy cake rolls. Get them from TNT SUPERMARKET - 6 minute drive away.

One of many Chinese bakeries in Mississauga, but perhaps the oldest one. Regulars flock here to get quality buns and cakes. It's consistently good and reliable. Only wished they were opened later and better stocked later.

Picked a variety of baked goodies both savoury and sweet. As a quick little snack you cant go wrong with the hotdog bun, was decent, it hit the spot. We also picked up some egg tarts, pineapple buns and coconut peanut butter pastry. All were decent but not out of this world. Your average asian bakery, decently priced. We also ordered an assorted fruit birthday cake for my bfs sisters birthday. No issues, the cake was great and everyone enjoyed it. The family has ordered cakes from here before and have had good experiences.

Probably the best Chinese bakery in Mississauga! I remember coming to get freshly baked coconut buns with my mom when I was young and till this day, they are still tasty and the same as before. Come on the weekends for the yummy raisin buns and remember to try their fresh mango cake in the summer. I really enjoy their chestnut cake and this is one of the few bakeries that have chestnut buns. They also other buns and items that you don't often see, walnut bun and small egg tarts. I really love this bakery since everything is sooo fresh and the quality is still the same and consistent. Definitely recommend this to those who haven't tried this Sauga gem!!

The bakery food here is just off the hook. This place has been around for some time. They were doing Japanese cheese cake for a while now. Way before uncle tetsu came along. I actually prefer to get my japanese cheese cake fix here. No need to wait 2 hours and i prefer this one better. I also love their coconut riceballs with redbean inside! This place is just steps from my school. Decided to give it a try one day as I was craving carbs, and I couldn't be happier for doing so! The hotdog buns are off the chain! I got them warm and fresh, and they taste as good as they smell and look! Looks like I'll be going here every day on my break now!

Not much of any baked goods left at 1:00pm on Monday. If they are closed at 5pm. how much available baked goods were actually made that day????

The bakery is pretty typical to your average Asian bakery. Personally I have not really tried their breads, so I can't comment on anything in particular. I do, however, go for their freshly baked cheesecake - no it's not the creamy ones you get at restaurants... it's more like Japanese cheesecake or the pound cakes you bake at home. It has the appearance of a pound cake, feels light like angel food cake, spongy fluffy texture, and has that nice egg-y smell/taste to it. They usually have it baked for the afternoon - it's best to get it asap as on busy days they sell out of the cake and it tastes even more amazing when it's warm! Not too expensive either, around $7ish for an 8" size.

Great bakery!! Coconut buns here are the best. Been getting birthday cakes here since I was a kid. The downside, they're closed on Tuesdays and their inventory of baked goods disappears quick. After 6pm there's usually hardly anything left. So come early if you can.

The reasoning behind my 1 star for this bakery is because they refused to serve me. I came in to order a hot milk tea since it was a cold day for walking and I heard they have good milk tea, but because I was a lone customer and only wanted to purchase one milk tea they said they couldn't make it. How low can you be? Serious? You wouldn't make one milk tea just because I didn't want to order a bucket load? Never in my life have I been refused service because of pure laziness.

I went here for the Japanese cheesecake based on previous reviews. I was not disappointed! The cheesecake was moist and delicious. I paid $7.50 for the cheesecake so the price has gone up a bit since the previous reviews. They had many other desserts as well including coconut and egg tarts and a variety of buns. I haven't tried the other desserts yet but I will be sure to do so the next time I'm here. A gem of a find!

Their Japanese Cheesecake is the real deal!! For $7 for a whole cake it can't be beat. So airy and filling at the same time, not too sweet and not too cheesy either!

Japanese cheese cake, mango mouse cake, cocnut buns, almond cookies. This place it so underrated! My family and I go here to get out birthday cakes cause they make them so well (especially the mango mouse cake). Their Japanese cheese cake is really so good! It's light and fluffy and not too much cheese! Kind glad not a lot of people know about it, cause then other wise it will turn into an Uncle Tetsu with a long line outside! I love this place, its a hidden jem asian bakery.

The whole year around I used to get make Birthday cakes from here only. Light and yummy we always had fun and felt happy Akko cakes.

I was craving Chinese hot dogs buns, so I went and got some here.. and now I hate my life. But I love me some Chinese hot dog buns! They have a good variety of Chinese pastries that are baked fresh every day. The coconut buns, red bean buns, and ham & cheese buns are among my favourite and they're reasonably priced. Cash only.

This bakery has a very nice boss; she is kind and respects her works and every customer with care. The breads, cakes, cookies and everything are fresh made. The cheese are delightful. The prices are reasonable and adorable.

This is one of only a few good Chinese bakeries in Mississauga. On a Saturday morning the place is pretty busy. Get your fresh baking early or you may face an empty shelf! My favourites are the coconut buns, crispy flakey egg tarts, the filled cake rolls, and the Japanese cheese cake. Give it a try and pick up your groceries at the No Frills next door while you're at it or have a delicious bowl of wonton soup for lunch from Wonton Chai in the same plaza!

Definitely one of the best Chinese bakeries in Mississauga (Oriental Bakery comes close as second). Their pastries and cakes are fine. Had their tiramisu cake as my birthday cake for two occasions. Highly recommend it! Not too sweet but it still hits the spot!

Best Chinese bakery! Best part is the coconut buns that sell out daily by noon. Cost wise, everything is great pricing. Very nice to see that it's about quality of the bakery goods then just a name that's saturated like most Chinese bakeries. Highly recommended!

A little bit pricey compared to other locations in Mississauga however, well worth the money. Great bbq pork buns, fruit cakes, Egg tarts. Not a great selection if you dont come in early and they do cash only so make sure you've got the money!
