"Ah Cacao If you’re looking for the perfect coffee shop to do some people-watching and savor local flavors, Ah Cacao has three open-air locations along Playa’s bustling 5th Avenue. Each venue offers outdoor seating where you can sip Mexican hot chocolate and sample delicious desserts alongside a shop selling a variety of artisanal chocolate items. Thanks to its innovative recipes, great locations, and comfortable, relaxed setting, the brand has become a popular meeting spot for locals. The products served and sold at Ah Cacao are made right in the city, with ingredients grown on nearby plantations."

This place is a gem. The chocolate drinks are rich and smooth, the coffee is strong, and everything feels fresh. I had the chocolate frappe and a brownie—both were amazing. You can taste the quality in every bite. The vibe is chill and the staff is super friendly. I came back three times in one week. Definitely a must-visit spot if you’re in Playa!

I tried the Chocolate Frio and the Chocolate Tamale. Both were excellent; the drink was light but flavourful with no bitterness whatsoever. They did not overdo it with the sugar which was much appreciated. The tamale was dry but the great cacao flavour made up for it, I expect it is supposed to be consumed with a coffee. Will come again to purchase some products to bring back with me to Canada!

Ah Cacao is a Mexican chain of very nice cafes offering amazing hot cocoa (or cold if you prefer). They of course have other drinks to offer - coffees or teas, and also, you can find here various cakes to choose from to accompany your drink. I especially recommend the brownies. You can also buy here souvenirs - like hand made chocolates or coffee beans. Very cosy place which I recommend to visit.

We stop for coffee before our ferry to Cozumel, delicious and great service.

Better coffee than at the Hilton 5* Hotel. Also, one of the only places around where you can get coconut milk. I recommend this place for all Hilton guests who need decent coffee in the morning as the closest and best option. I tried them all.

Wow, the ice coffee and hot chocolate was fire! It was great. And we also bought candy bars for us and to share. The barista made a teddy bear for the wife’s coffee. Great place.

This café is part of a local chain selling cakes, chocolate, coffee and limonade. We ordered both coffee, chokolade, limonade and cakes. The coffee is only a bit over average regarding taste, but the chocolate tastes great. The cakes and cookies are also quite delicious and the limonade was just okay. Prices are average, the service adequate and the atmosphere is quite nice. I recommend this café for its cakes and chocolate. The coffee you can get better elsewhere.

After 2.5 months, I finally treated myself to a decadent Mayan Chocolate Frappe at Ah Cacao Café. The chocolate was rich with a hint of spicy 🌶️ chili and not overly sweet. I ordered mine with Coconut 🥥 milk and it was a perfect tropical treat. I sat inside which was wonderfully cool.
