Cute place! All of the items that they sell is also cute but quite expensive. But their food is so good! We parked our stroller on the back so we will not be in the way since we sat at the front. Ordered tonkatsu bento, chicken karaage bento. Chicken Namban Bento. Chicken fingers with fries for the kids. First come first serve basis for the table. Order first then seat on the table

Cute bento boxes and the chicken was incredible. Juicy, flavorful. Not heavy at all and the mayo / sauce was great balance. Order at the front and seating behind the curtain. Just wish there was A/C and the indoor seating wasn’t so cramped and loud.

This place is delicious and has a super cute patio in the back. It was a little bit tricky with the stroller, but was able to find a good spot not in the way. I had a glass of sparkling wine, a miso soup, and the egg salad. It was the perfect lunch. They also have a little shop up front of Japanese goods which is super cute. You order at the front in the shop and then get a buzzer for collecting your food when it’s ready. Will definitely be back.

I’ve always loved ACRE. They seriously have one of the best French fries I have had in my life, the perfect crisp with the delicious yet subtle nori on top! And the tamogo sandwiches is also classic! They are very creative in innovation of classic believed Japanese cafe food.

Girlfriend and I came for lunch. It had stellar reviews as well as a very high price point so I had high expectations. The food was honestly pretty good. I got Karrage while she got Chicken Nanban. Both were very juicy and fresh. I am really not a sauce guy but the sauce was not overwhelming at all. The rice was a bit bland? For some reason I expected more flavor since it was a little colorful. The Brussel sprouts and vegetables/salad were decent, vibrant and refreshing. I was skeptical at the value but we honestly got pretty full. For reference ~23 dollars per bento set. I got exactly full and she couldn't even finish a little of her meal. I have to say though, this definitely would not do the job for someone who has an above average appetite so take that into consideration. (We eat less). My only issues were that the price was a bit high for, like others said, self service. For reference, it's similar to the situation in the KTOWN food court with the beeping devices. What I'm not understanding, on top of why the prices are high for self service, is why we can't sit in/dine in after ordering a online pickup order if there's no substantial indoor service for customers. The outside area was pretty cool and the bathroom was also really aesthetic, clean and sanitary. The front area also has a lot of cool antiques/items that add a nice touch. I would like to give a solid 4.5 stars but that's not an option; Definitely not 5 stars unfortunately.

This spot has bento boxes to die for. The food was so incredible that we visited twice during our stay in NYC. We tried the salmon bento and chicken nanban bento, and we’re still dreaming about their flavors. The food isn't the only highlight; they also sell beautiful cups and other charming items. Plus, the staff are exceptionally nice. If you’re searching for a place with delicious meals, definitely give this place a try. It’s worth every penny!

Someone told me this spot was overpriced and not worth the money, and it stopped me from going for several months! Decided to finally give it a try and form my own opinion and was pleasantly surprised. The karaage is lightly battered & fried, flavored perfectly with a chewy, mochi-like exterior. It was absolutely delicious. It was a perfectly balanced meal with the purple rice and salad. I also opted to add the miso soup for $4, which was definitely worth it - hearty, savory, and filled with an assortment of veggies. The matcha latte also seemed to be high quality and a great creamy/foamy texture. So yes, the price may feel a tad high (although that's just inflation now), but the quality of food is great. I would come back! Definitely a crowded/popular spot - all the indoor tables were filled but many may miss the back patio that is still completely covered and warm with heat lamps.

ACRE sits among the great businesses in Greenpoint's Little Japan neighborhood, appealing to those looking for home decor or a meal. When you step in you'll find yourself in their retail store, with shelves of ceramic bowls, plates, wooden utensils, kind of like a fancier Muji. They also have bottles of sake and some kitchen supplies like sauces for sale. Make your way to the back for their restaurant, and you'll see a generous amount of seating, probably enough for like 40 people or so. There's even a backyard with tables and chairs, a dining area that looks just as large as the one inside, though it was too cold for me to hang out back there. Inside, it's reminiscent of a nice cafeteria, and there's no table service, so I found the $25+ price tag for the lunch sets a bit high. The karaage set came with purple rice and a salad and was pretty tasty, as was the hojicha latte I got to wash it all down with. As charming as the place was, I don't think I'm running back. The portions were too small, but that might be my American appetite talking.

I love this place so much. First of all, their chicken sandwich is better than the one from Double Chicken Please. I said what I said, and I'll say it again. It was tender, the bread was soft but with a delicate crunch, and so so fresh. It has a refreshing crunch from the japanese slaw that's on it. I've also been back and gotten their bento and the ingredients are just good quality and paid attention to. The rice is fluffy and soft, the salad has a wonderful brightness to it (is that yuzu I taste?) The matcha I've had iced and hot, and it's good quality. I also liked their hojicha raspberry latte as well. The matcha cake was just okay, it was a bit stale, not sure if it was an off day, but everything else was so good I'll give this place a 5 stars still.

Perfect spot to pop by for a quick bite! Their chicken is cooked to perfection in terms of crispy and juiciness. Definitely sit outside if the weather permits, they have a beautiful back patio area to enjoy your meal at!

Nice and cozy Japanese cafe/bento spot in Greenpoint! The place looks so simple outside and chic inside. There is a cute shop placed in. We ordered delivery Pork Katsu bento and Chicken nanban with veg miso soups! Came hot and fresh. Quality is excellent Japanese bento box! ( sad happened with delivery for 4 states) will come back

ACRE is in the Greenpoint area in Brooklyn. It's a very cozy, welcoming Japanese cafe/bakery. There are GF options like Chicken kaarage and Sandos. There is seating outside that is very lovely. We got the aonori fries, bentos, and matcha latte with pistachio milk (My sister got hot chocolate with pistachio milk). The barista was very friendly and welcoming. The food was the best, the kaarage was scrumptious, everything was delicious, felt homey, I would have to say this was my favorite restaurant experience during our NY trip. For baked goods, there was lemon muffins, we got some to go to try later. Would definitely come back to try the chicken kaarage sando :D

Acre is one of those rare gems that I can't get enough of. The aesthetic is spot-on, from the cozy cafe up front to the sleek, serene restaurant in the back. And then there's the adorable backyard--it's like stumbling upon a hidden oasis in the middle of Greenpoint. The food? Absolutely sublime. Every Japanese dish is a masterclass in balance, cooked to perfection with flavors that linger. I got the chicken karaage bento box and the chicken was super moist on the inside with a delectable crust on the outside. The service is also impressively fast, making the whole experience feel seamless and easy. My only wish? A slight dip in price would make it even sweeter. But hey, we're in the heart of Greenpoint, so I guess it's all part of the package.

This shop is sooooo cute! Adorable, chic, and welcoming from the outsides. The inside is minimalistic and artsy. They have a lot of products for sell in the front of the cafe where the register is. Lots of the products are of good quality and made from sustainable materials and resources. Staff were very friendly and patient. Line wasn't long when I was there but the wait took a little longer than expected. The bento style when the foods were served, made the concept of this place very cool and unique. Food was flavorful and tasty. It didn't come out as hot as I was hoping, so that's a bit disappointing. I really like the Nanban and how unique the combination of the chicken with the sauce and the eggs were! Very flavorful and the chicken was sooo juicy! I would get it again for sure. Overall, I have to admit that the food was good but in my opinion, nothing special that blows the taste profile out of the water. I'm glad I got to experience this place and will have to say that it's definitely worth trying once!!!

I keep giving ACRE second chances because I want to understand the hype, but I think I just need to admit that it's not for me. The ambiance and backyard are certainly beautiful, and the nanban bento I got was okay too, though on the pricey side given the tiny portion. My biggest gripe is their drinks which I find to be waaay too sweet. I've tried their matcha and hojicha lattes and couldn't taste the tea in either of them, just milk and syrup. It makes me wonder what the quality of the powder they're using is. Overall my experiences didn't live up to the standard that I would expect given their price and advertised authenticity.

Can't believe I've been sleeping on this place. Line was long when I visited around lunchtime on a Sunday but it was definitely worth the wait. There are also plenty of cool items to look at in the store while you're on line. Japanese fried chicken karaage bento box and iced hojicha latte with oat milk were both fantastic, and the backyard seating was very serene. Need to try the sandwich, fries and pastries next time! And I want a bag of their homemade granola.

Met up with a group of friends here at ACRE and was pleasantly surprised at how spacious this cafe was! When you first walk in, you are met with an area where you can shop Japanese home goods and snacks. In same area, you can line up and place your order. Once you've ordered, you are given a buzzer and you can go to the back to find a seat. There's a good amount of seating indoors and there's also a backyard garden with some seats as well. We opted to sit inside as it was a little warm but I'd love to come back and hang out in the garden when it gets cooler. All of us opted for a bento box and a drink. I ended up getting the Chicken Karaage bento box with an iced hojicha latte with pistachio milk. The total was $31 not including tip. The bento box includes the protein of choice, a side salad, purple rice, some brussel sprouts, and pickled radish. Everything paired very well together. I particularly liked the yuzu dressing that they mixed in with the salad. The chicken was crispy, juicy and flavored well (it did have a little too much breading for my liking though). The hojicha latte was pleasantly nutty and and earthy. Overall, it's a great option if you're seeking a casual place for lunch. The warm and grounding ambiance makes for a good place to come solo or with a group of friends.

I feel like I should've known about ACRE sooner. ACRE is the kind of place you almost don't want to tell too many people about. It's a Japanese inspired restaurant that is both a café and a restaurant. Everything from the interior to the food and the products they offer seem to have an air of elegance to it and seem to be very specially curated. The ingredients are fresh, and top quality, and it feels like a spot clean pop girls would come to. The interior is a minimalist yet warm design with light accents and plenty of naturally lighting. The space feels intimate without being too cramped. The store is decorated with wood accents and soft lighting to create a relaxing, bright, healing atmosphere. While the space feels simple, it also feels luxury. The food at ACRE is also great! They seem to focus on seasonal ingredients and Japanese-inspired dishes balancing both freshness, quality and flavor profiles! Everything just feels so thoughtfully prepared. Each dish is simple but so well seasoned and so well balanced. One thing i would note though is that ACRE is a bit pricey. However, the quality of the ingredients and the care that goes into each dish makes it worth it for me. It's a great place to come to have lunch with friends, chat and yap while taking in the sunlight. TLDR; great food, great ambiance, pricey. Feels simple yet elegant, everything from the food to the interior is very well balanced.

Absolutely love the back covered garden! I didn't know it existed. Stopped by for a quick lunch before an appointment nearby. I ordered the Japanese egg salad sandwich + bacon and a hojicha oat latte. Both were delicious! I want to come back to try the bento boxes and other dishes. I've only enjoyed the front area in the past, but since I was ordering food this time, I was able to dine in the back area and spotted the backyard. On a Friday afternoon, it wasn't too crowded but I'm also impressed with how much space ACRE has. The bathrooms were clean - always a plus.

Japanese-Brooklyn cool and delicious. Wonderful egg salad sandwich and chicken karaage. Interior was spacious and felt Japanese - clean, minimal, easy background noise. A bit of a walk/subway trip from Financial District but worth the experience.

Great place to get authentic Japanese meal. I got the Chicken Katzu bento and it was moist on the inside, crispy on the outside with some mayo sauce on it. It was balanced with clean tasting purple rice and salad. Come early on the weekend or risk waiting on a long line. They are strict about ordering first before grabbing seats. Despite me holding a child on one hand and two bags on a another with my second child with me, they had no sympathy to allow me to settle in first before ordering. They have backyard seating as well as inside seating. Bathrooms were pretty clean.

Acre is a unique place to grab coffee, grab a Japanese styled bento meal, and also shop for trinkets! I came here with a friend on a random weekday afternoon. We got some coffee and a Chicken Karaage bento box to snack on. Service was pick up your order when your buzzer buzzes. Coffee and bites were delicious. We also sat in their backyard patio for the vibes. Would come back!

The perfect mix of Japan and Brooklyn! My bf and I came here for lunch today. It was very relaxed. We ordered an iced oat milk latte, ume sparkling soda, karaage bento box with miso, hijiki, and an egg salad sandwich. The karaage chicken is some of the best I've had in NYC. The bento box came with a little taste of the Brussel sprouts and I wish we would have ordered that as a side. The hijiki was amazing and I haven't seen it at too many places in the US (at least on the east coast). My least favorite was the egg salad sandwich but it was still amazing. The food was maybe a tad pricey but once I tasted everything I realized it is because they really put a lot of time and effort into the food they serve. The overall atmosphere is very laid back. They sell ceramics in the entrance to the shop. I loved my experience here and will definitely be back.

Oh my lawdddddd. One of the best coffee shops I've ever been to. It has a very relaxed and easy going feel and the coffee/food doesn't miss either. I love the Japanese vibe, the service, and the crafts that are on display and on sale at this quaint little shop. The black coffee was fruity and delicious, the cappuccino was nicely made and had a nice design on it. The real star of the show though was the scallion and cheese scone, it was moist and crusty and savory in all the best ways. This is a place that I'll definitely come back and visit again.

Food? Yes, great though a bit on the pricier side. Ambiance? Yes. Love the cafe vibes - and have even journaled here to pass time. Unfortunately, for matcha or houjicha lattes - I've tried a few times - and you are better off making the walk to Kettl (the source of the teas) for the latte. They'll do latte art, it won't be gritty, for the same price. A bit disappointed with Acre on their drinks.

This review is rather incomplete, because I haven't tried their food or matcha, and I almost certainly will be back to try those. As for their coffee, it wasn't anything spectacular. I got a cortado, and it had a really dark bitter taste; really felt like burnt beans. The cortado itself was made pretty well and had good balance of richness, but couldn't shake the bitterness. The ambience of the place is great; lots of cool Japanese inspired art, kitchenware, foods, etc., with good amount of seating for dine-in. Again, will be back to try the other options, just not the coffee specifically!

Been wanting to try ACRE for a while, and we finally got the chance to when we were visiting Greenpoint on a cold Saturday in March! We came here for an early lunch around 11am, and it was busy, but there was still seating available (there's also tables outside in front of the restaurant and in the back). I liked the way the space was decorated. It was also pretty open / had nice lighting. The line moved pretty quickly to order (order first at the counter, and then go to find a table). They give you a buzzer so you know when to pick it up from the counter in the back. We ordered two bento boxes: Chicken Karaage and Chicken Curry, which were ready in about 10 minutes after getting a buzzer. We sat at the counter (three seats available), and it was neat seeing one of the folks working there assemble the bento boxes in mass. The Chicken Curry was unique -- it had chickpeas and was super flavorful (they likely used more curry blocks to get a stronger taste) and it had a kick to it. The Karaage was very crispy. The portion size was pretty good! I also liked the brussel sprouts which came with my curry bento box, although there wasn't that much. I'm not sure the bento boxes were worth the price, but the food was decent!

I can't believe I waited 45 minutes standing in line...for a very subpar hojicha latte. It was so grainy, each sip was choking down granules and coughing up dust. Didn't order food, but I hope it's better than their drinks. Added a star because their matcha cake was moist and not sweet, service was friendly. Wanted to like this place but I can't believe a standard drink like a hojicha latte was so bad. I'm really sad I had to go to a different spot to get a different drink to wash down the attack on my throat.

Love this spot! Between the beautiful cermaics for sale up front to the open kitchen where they prepare your food in front of the indoor eating area, as well as the back patio where you can comfortably sip on your matcha latte. My favs here are the chicken karage sandwhich which highlights a the perfect bun with shredded cabbage, juicy seasoned chicken, and that addictive sauce to top it off. Prices are on the expensive side as expected in Williamsburg. But hey, they offer free glasses of water :) I will be back to try the bento boxes and some of their other featured drinks.

Quaint no frills japanese lunch spot with a small gift shop in the front with the cafe. Seating is first come first serve and the restaurant asks you order before claiming a spot. Turnover for seats is quick and can accommodate parties of 2 or 4, maybe 6 if you're able to nab one of the tables along the wall and combine table. I got the chicken kaarage and it was very flavorful and juicy. The dish was surprisingly filling and cost about $22.

Stumbled upon Acre when I was in the neighborhood offloading clothes at a thrift shop. The front of the shop has some interesting knick knacks and tchotchkes and the line builds up quick. There is a dining area in the back which was pretty full, but people were coming and going quickly so you should be able to fairly easily snag a spot. The chicken sandwich was delicious! Crispy, juicy, saucy.. everything you could want in a chicken sandwich. I ordered it with the side salad which was tasty and refreshing as well. Almost wished I got the bento box but everything tasted great so I didn't have any complaints. It's a little pricey at around $18 for a fast casual place, but the quality of the food is so good that I'd say it's worth it.

Super spacious cafe with a backyard, which js great bc the line can get long! The iced soba and iced tea drinks were flavorful and very refreshing. Got the Japanese egg salad sandwich and the chicken nanban bento box (fried chicken, salad, and purple rice). I really liked how they gave purple rice! The chicken was pretty tender and very saucy. The Japanese egg salad was just ok - a little bland.

Such a cute spot with outdoor seating in the front and a large patio in the back. We got the chicken karaage sandwich, which was delicious and so flavorful and juicy. The only downside is it's a bit hard to eat! The shape of the chicken doesn't make for a clean sandwich -- we both ended up eating it deconstructed. Still a good meal, just a bit of a messy one.

I love this place! First of all, it always smells good here. Food is so tasty. The chicken karaage sandwich or box tastes amazing! I don't like chicken sandwiches much but this is my fave. The pieces of chicken are fried but light. The brioche bun paired with the chicken and sauce are perfect together. The pork katsu bento box is also great choice. I love their brussel sprouts, rice and salad. Even their egg salad is good. It doesn't have too much mayo. It is well balanced ratio of egg to mayo. Their coffee and other beverages are well made too. I'm a huge fan of their raspberry hojicha latte. Trust me!! Everyone likes matcha but hojicha is a nice alternative. I've tried hojicha lattes at other places and this one is still the best in my opinion. The raspberry mixed with the hojicha is a perfect combo. They also sell bottled beer and wine, which is nice if you come later and don't want to drink coffee. Good spot, crowded on weekends, worth going out of your way to try! Honorable mention, their bathrooms are always clean. They even have their own Acre hand soap. Bonus mention, you can buy other stuff like tea, pottery, incense, soap, etc. This is a hidden gem.

I came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch and it was relatively slow. The inside is very cute and they have a separate shopping and eating area. I got a chicken karaage sandwich and it was HUGE! I liked how the chicken karaage wasn't too fried and there was a lot of sauce on it. Knocking down a star because $14 for a sandwich is overpriced.

This place is just too cute cute cute! This restaurant uses Japanese methods of cooking, in which their menu offers salads and soups, bento boxes, and sandwiches; they also serve coffee, tea, and pastries. Unfortunately, we came a little bit too early for their lunch menu, but we had a great time perusing their little shop of cups and plates and other gift-worthy items. Staff here are super friendly, welcoming, and kind! I'd love to return to try out their lunch menu. +has a gift shop! +friendly and kind staff!

A cool Japanese inspired shop with aesthetic ceramic bowls/small trays selling in the front. It's completely self service, and you need to order before getting a seat in the back. They serve Sey coffee, which generally goes better with pourovers due to the lighter flavors. But the coffee is reasonably priced, so can't complain there. The bentos are definitely priced at a premium. The food comes in compostable containers and I believe Kinto brand trays. I had the tonkatsu bento, which was a good sized portion to leave satisfied. The meat quality is also juicy, lean, and decently crispy. Definitely want to come back to try others. The vibes of the place are great in front, but the line gets super long during peak hours and it becomes impossible to browse the ceramics.

Really cute spot in Greenpoint that serves bento boxes for around $15 each. You are required to order at the counter, which you will then get a buzzer and you can sit at your table until your food is ready to be picked up. The food is really good and the scene/vibes are really cute (think of it as a great place to use your laptop and enjoy a nice coffee or lunch). The prices are a little more expensive than I'd like but hey it's 2023. The food is really good, I enjoyed everything I ordered, the veg katsu (fried potato) was very crispy, the brussel sprouts were very tasty and the fries that my friend got were delicious as well. A side of brussel sprouts, veg bento box and a water (bottled not free) will run you around $34.

ACRE!! I love Acre so much. BEST MATCHA IN GREENPOINT. The matcha is smooth and perfect. Little tip ask for a dash of vanilla, just adds some extra sweetness with almond milk. The matcha cake loaf is also super tasty and delectable. I also really enjoyed their bento boxes. It's on the more expensive side around $25 + but it's worth it. Super flavorful and really nicely portioned out. I really wish Acre was open in the evening because I'd come here for dinner all the time. Highly recommend if you like authentic Asian cuisine and bento boxes!

Yum!! What a cute Japanese style bento box restaurant! Perfect stop in greenpoint for lunch. We loved all three bento boxes, chicken karaage, chicken nanban and chicken curry. The only diff between the chicken karaage and chicken nanban is the sauce. Chicken karaage has a mustardy horseradish sauce while the chicken nanban has a mayoey, eggy cream sauce with a sweet vinegary glaze on the chicken. I enjoyed both! Curry chicken had chickpeas and tasted unique from the traditional Japanese curry that I am used to. The service was nice and the wait took around 10-15 mins on a Sunday afternoon.

The service here was great! Every staff member I talked to was very friendly and helpful. They have a small shop in the front where you take your order before sitting down. It has small trinkets, clothes, and homeware. The seating area is cafeteria-style, so you can sit at any open table and you have a buzzer to let you know when your food is ready to be picked up at the counter. * Karaage Bento Box - 10/10 - The Karaage was perfectly crispy and there was a good meat to batter ratio. Also, the mustard sauce on the karaage was delicious. * Pork Katsu Bento Box - 10/10 - The pork was a thick cut pork chop, so it didn't feel like you were just eating fried breadcrumbs. It was also juicy still. The pickled radish and sour salad dressing on both bento boxes helped balance out the fried meats. * Matcha Cake - 7/10 - The matcha flavor is strong, but the loaf was very dry, so would recommend drinking it with coffee or tea. * Scallion Parmesan Scone - 8/10 - They recommend heating it up which melts the cheese slightly and this was definitely the way to eat it. The scallion flavor with the saltiness of the Parmesan is a bit addicting. * Coffee Jello - 8.5/10 - I've never had a dish like this before. The coffee jello had a strong espresso taste and the panna cotta layer on top added a smooth sweetness to balance out the bitterness of the coffee. * Hojicha Latte - 8/10 - If you like matcha lattes, I recommend trying this drink because it elevates the green tea flavor and adds another layer of dimension to the flavors. Overall, I really enjoyed my meal here and I would come back to try their other bento boxes and sandwiches. It was pricey, but I think it was the perfect amount of food to satiate, but not overly stuff me.

Probably one of the best chicken karaage I've had! The $13 side had big, generous chunks with shatteringly crunchy breading and I loved the shoyu koji mayo on top that was slightly acidic and not too thick, drizzable! There were some gelatinous gummy bits from the starch coating being so thick, but in turn you get so many ballous crunchy fried pockets (almost like tapioca pearls) to contrast the tender, well marinated meat. The small side of brussels with a soy sesame sauce were perfect too, fried but not greasy, soft on the inside. Could have had more crispiness but I like a good soggy crunchy moment. The yuzu slice and coffee were less memorable. The cake was quite crumbly and fluffy compared to regular lemon pound cake, but you could definitely taste the yuzu flavor! You do seat yourself in the communal seating area, which was pretty packed when we got there in the afternoon but tables emptied quickly. I originally came to browse the ceramics but I'd come just for the fried chicken!!

Got a pastry and a chai, both were delicious. I went there to work on my laptop but then found out there was no wifi after I arrived which was a bummer. Pretty crowded, clearly people like it!

Chicken Nanban Bento Box was filled with flavor. The chicken was soft and marinated nicely with the amazing tartar sauce brought the dish together. Edamame with the salad plus some sort of yuzu dressing. Not the biggest fan of purple rice but it was decent with the chicken. The Aonori French fries was mediocre. Not soft nor crunchy. Very subtle seaweed flavor. Also ordered a Hojicha Latte which was pretty good. I went on a Sunday and it was crowded the entire afternoon. It was food court seating where you find a seat yourself.

Run to this place NOW. Really amazing food with service to match. Everything from the indoor/outdoor setup to the ambient music was meticulously designed to enhance your food experience. My egg salad sandwich was perfectly balanced, as was the chicken karaage bento box - even the seaweed seasoning on the fries! We had a hearty meal without the guilt of feeling too full or greasy. My only tip is to eat indoors. The outdoor seating is great for socializing but I saw a few mosquitoes out there before deciding to stay inside. Keep up the great work. - AT

Delicious Japanese eatery with nice bento boxes and cafe offerings. My partner and I decided to try their karage and vegetarian katsu bento boxes. Both were delicious but at the pricing of $20+ a box, we felt that it was a bit overpriced. Thus, I would give ACRE a 4/5. Recommend the food, but cautious on the pricing.

We ordered the yuzu vanilla cake with iced americano and cold brew. The yuzu vanilla cake was a bit dry and wasn't very moist. The Salmon Katsu bento box was pretty mid. Salmon did not taste too fresh and was very dry. The salmon was priced on the higher end of $24. The pork Katsu on the other hand was delicious and juicy. The pork Katsu was in thicker cuts and juicy on the inside. I would suggest getting this as your protein at this location. The pork Katsu is priced at $21. We came around 12:15pm on a Saturday and it was quite busy. 12-2pm is rush hour. Overall the food was enjoyable!

4.5 stars -.5 due to the line Loved the Japanese ceramics and products on the way in and however while being greeted with a huge line up. That makes sense considering how popular it is, but it would have been nice to have a separate line if you're just dining in vs. taking out. The space is large, bright and well lit. I felt welcomed and cozy on a bright sunny Brooklyn day. I met my friend there and we both ordered Hojicha lattes from their cafe menu and I ordered their popular chicken karage sandwich and my friend ordered their nanban chicken bento box. Surprisingly, the chicken was juicy, well-seasoned and crispy and the same time! My friend enjoyed her bento box a lot too because it also came with rice, potato salad and some other greens. It was her first well-portioned out meal in the whole week. Since the day was nice, we enjoyed sitting in the patio although there was also plenty of space in the dining room. Note: their branded hand wash in the bathroom was also incredibly aromatic, loved the scent.

Had my eye on ACRE for a while and happy to say I've finally crossed it off my list! Visited on a Sunday around 3 pm. Though the kitchen closes at 4, the cafe/seating area is open until 5 so no need to feel rushed. I opted for a vanilla latte as my beverage, sampled a friend's scallion Parmesan scone, and did the chicken nanban bento with a side of aonori fries. the scone was fine (as my friend mentioned, would have been better toasted). I asked for my latte to be on the less sweet side with only a splash of syrup but it was very sweet so would maybe opt for a standard latte next time. The aonori fries were delish! they were salted just enough and had some truffle oil or other in there as well. nice and crispy and freshly fried, would definitely recommend. the nanban bento was definitely the showstopper here. every item in the bento was perfectly flavored- crispy chicken in a tangy sweet/sour sauce, great yuzu dressing on the salad, high quality rice, and my favorite was the little sampling of brussel sprouts. might have to get just a side order of the brussel sprouts next time! it initially seemed a bit pricey (paid $45 for 3 items with tip) but honestly its a lot of food and such high quality so i find it to be a good deal. I plan to be a regular here!
