This isn’t your Uncle Tony's cheesesteak and the bartender was nice enough to point that out when we ordered. Marinated steak tips with grilled tomato, onions and swiss cheese on a baguette. Very tasty cheesesteak. The ingredients works very well together. The person making this meal cared about making a very nice meal. Very nice atmosphere. All things considered the $12 price tag may be appropriate but the Cheesesteak was pretty small. The $7 mad elf and $6 Boulevard Sourberry helped us dollar cost average down. Very good overall experience.

The cinnamon raisin French toast was absolutely delicious! I ate every bite. My cousin had the eggs Benedict w/ chicken & it was so good too. Don’t miss this hidden gem.

The BEST pancakes I’ve ever had. They were made by someone who loves and cares. I finished every last bite. It’s hard to choose what was better between the crispy cauliflower, vegan wings and vegan blue cheese stuffed green olives (breaded and deep fried my gawd) I can’t wait to come back!

Their chicken sandwich is amazing! One of the best I've had! Friendly bar staff as well! I'll definitely be back in whenever I'm in the area.

I was able to get a last minute reservation for Mother's Day Brunch. I called and could actually speak to someone! They suggested indoors since cold weather was expected. It wasn't too crowded when we got there at 11 but was picking up by the time we left. Our waiter John was very good. He came over to greeted us within a few minutes. He was personable and efficient. He was also happy to accommodate a special preset and bring extra whipped cream for my mom! The food was excellent! Three of us had the Lemon Ricotta French Toast. The French toast was creamy on the inside and nicely browned in the outside. It was not at all dry. It came with lemon ricotta in between the slices, whipped cream and strawberry preserves. The lemon ricotta and preserves had a lot of flavor. One person had the omelette with everything in it. It's $1/extra filling so that added up. Prices were reasonable-$7 for a mimosa! The entrees were a few dollars cheaper than comparable places but he food was still high quality. The place has a nice atmosphere. We were not at all rushed. Both the restaurant and bathrooms were clean.

I'm surprised that this place isn't as well known! Came across this by accident with a large group, and they were able to accommodate us right away. The food is amazing and affordable and the staff is friendly and attentive! I loved their mimosa towers. Space is clean.

Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, late night drinks - The Abbaye excels at all in simple yet unique fashion, as they have for more than 2 decades. Food is always excellent and the standby menu is frequently boosted by specials and small tweaks. The draft list is sure to have some go-to options and when you're feeling bored or adventurous, there's always a few new surprises to try out. Service is speedy and comes with a smile. They're always hosting fun events like quizzo or karaoke. A top 5 gastropub for me.

Can't wait to come back. The breakfast sandwich was simple and delicious, served with a fresh baguette. Was in a mood for nachos, ordered with steak. For dessert, ordered ice cream made with a seasonal cherry beer. Everything was great. Miriam was excellent.

Ive heard about the cheesesteak here in the past, but never thought about trying it until I was here for Quizzo on a Thursday. First thing to note, is that any sandwich with cheese can get vegan cheese on it instead. The cheesesteak with vegan cheese, mushrooms, and onions was one of the best that I've ever had! Also tried the buttermilk fried tenders, which might've become my favorite french fries and chicken tender menu item ever. There is a special on drinks on Thursday's, a shot and a beer, which I super appreciate! Other drinks are alright on price as well.

Stopped here with a friend, we were walking by trying to find a place to eat lunch and figured we try this place. Outdoor seating is nice and shaded. Once you are seated, there is a bar code you can scan on the table that will bring you to a website with their menu (I wish every restaurant did this) The server we had was quick and super friendly. All the food was great! We had vegan wings, regular wings, a quesadilla and burger. We couldn't eat everything because the servings are decent, but it was worth it.

My friend came all the way from Australia to visit Me, but was only able to be in Philly for one day. She is also a vegan, so I hyped up the Abbaye saying she could have the worlds best vegan cheesesteak, only to find they were closed for a private event which they did not make known to the public. We went completely out of the way to come here because they advertised being open. It's hard enough after covid finding a place open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and now you are this lazy you can't even tell people what your hours will be. I won't be back again because chances are you won't even be open. It's ashame to, I have been coming here off and on for years...not anymore. You have no one to blame but yourselves

Liquor drinks are absurdly expensive for the neighborhood. Better dive bars with better vibes all over the neighborhood

I read about their unbelievable vegan wings online that claimed to be THE BEST in the city...so obviously I had to check them out. The wings were okay and the best part of my meal for sure (ordered the vegan meatball sub, we will get to that next). They were pure quality seitan hunks of fake meat and fried well. My two gripes with the wings that stopped them from being THE BEST (shoutout to Bourban Branch for still wearing that crown) was the hot sauce and their condiment options. The wings were covered in hot sauce which I am not a fan of, I would've definitely preferred a dry rub. Their condiments were blue-cheese, ranch and veganaise. I find it very odd that two of the 3 pairings for vegan wings were not vegan... The Abbaye should try a little harder. The meatball sub lacked all flavor. I was dreaming about Blackbird Pizzerias sub while eating this. To be fair, I probably didn't order the fan favorites or their specialities but what I did order I wouldn't get again. I'd consider giving this another try but it's hard when other places right around it do it so much better. The customer service was on point though! Shoutout to the servers working today!

It seems like a nice lil spot, especially for good drinks. I went here on a Thursday during the holiday season so it wasn't too packed, which was actually what we were looking for. We only wanted appetizers and drinks. The drinks were really good! I had the Bulletproof Manhattan which was perfect for a cold evening. The French Pear Martini was quite tasty. We paired it with Korean Fried cauliflower and chicken wings. We definitely didn't explore the menu tot he fullest, but I would be willing to give it another try to see how the rest of the food tastes.

Gotta throw some good vibes out into the universe.... long live the Abbaye. Solid local mainstay since my in the biz days.

I ordered food from DoorDash, so my review is strictly for the food! I loved this vegetarian cheesesteak! It usually comes with tomatoes, which I thought was a bit strange, but I ordered it without and it came perfectly. I ordered the food towards the end of the day and the bread was still soft and fresh tasting. I was pleasantly surprised by that, because good bread can make or break a cheesesteak. The fake meat was flavored deliciously and paired well with onions and cheese. To my amazement, the fries were still crispy by the time they made it to me. I was prepared to receive soggy french fries, as typically happens with delivery, but nope!! The vegetarian hot wings also tasted yummy. They're a bit "meatier" than most place we've received from but I actually enjoyed that. My only complaint is I wish the outside was a bit crispier, but maybe that was because of delivery.

Delicious, great atmosphere and our waitress HD was phenomenal. Highly recommend.

The Abbaye has a great atmosphere, great draft beer list and delicious food! I got the turkey burger with brie (yum) and my boyfriend got the shrimp po boy. Both were delicious although the po boy could have used more shrimp. The fries were excellent and so was the sauce they came with! The outdoor seating was nice as well.

Really happy with my recent visit at The Abbaye. Came here on a Saturday around 1 and had no problem grabbing a table. As soon as we sat ourselves pretty much every table filled up after that. Our waiter was nice and checked on us repeatedly. They serve brunch till 3PM so that is the only menu they have offer till then. The Abbaye also offers $5 Bloodys and Mimosas. We ordered two Bloodys and they were perfect. Came topped with an olive, celery, and a pickle. H e a v e n. For entrees my girlfriend ordered an omelette and I ordered the veggie burger. Her meal looked awesome. My veggie burger was really good. I topped it with avocado and they provided a sauce as well. The burger was massive I could only eat a fraction of it. The fries that came with it were really, really great as well. For the two of us, with two entrees and two drinks our check was only $30. Pretty decent! I would definitely come back here when brunching in the NL area again.

I came to The Abbaye mostly to try their vegan wings and fries. I'm not generally into faux meat and wanted to make sure I went somewhere that did it well, and The Abbaye came up multiple times in my online searches for best wings in the city. While I don't have a large enough sample size to confirm or deny the claim, it was definitely exactly what I was looking for, and I'd say they did a really nice job. My SO and I went at around 8pm on a weekend. I was worried that, because it's a bar on a Saturday, it might be crowded or loud, but it was actually pretty quiet when we went. In fact, there are two distinct rooms, one with the bar and a few tables surrounding it, and another room just for dining, so I can't imagine it ever gets too loud. We started off with a beer and a sangria, and ordered a salad and fries to share, seitan wings, and a black bean burger (which apparently comes with fries...oops!) The seitan wings were GREAT and the burger was really solid as well. I really liked that while they call them "wings," they aren't going for an exact replica (which never works and just makes the duplicate look bad in comparison). The "wings" stand really well on their own, and I'd recommend them whether you're a meat eater or not. It's a heavier meal so I probably won't be back for a while, but I will definitely be back!

I can't believe I have not reviewed the Abbaye! The food here is outstanding and very vegan friendly. I always end up trying their seasonal homemade veggie burger. I've tried a bunch of things on the menu, like the seitan wings and seitan cheesesteak and they're both delicious. The bar itself is pretty plain, maybe even a bit divey with the crazy chalkboard beer menus. I have to give the Abbaye a lot of credit for always having an assortment of different beers so everyone will be able to find something that they like. It's a relatively small venue but it's not usually overcrowded. It's a great place to go with a small group of friends and just hang out. Check the website because they frequently do different events. My favorite is U Buy the Pint Night! On the third Wednesday of the month (usually) from 7-9 a brewery comes in. For $15 you get unlimited pours and some raffles for really awesome swag. It's definitely a deal. Look out for during Philly Beer week. For the past two years they've done Buy the Pint nights everyday.

I have been frequenting The Abbaye for well over the last two years and have deemed it my local watering hole. The service at the bar is always top notch and the food is pretty consistent. Some of my favorites on the menu are the cheese steak, chicken wings, and quesadilla. The cheese steak is one of the best in the city and is a hidden treasure of North Philly. They also change up the specials quite often to keep things fresh. There are usually eleven beers on tap, with something for everyone, as well as a plethora of mixed drink options. They host an abundant of events which are always an enjoyable time. My favorite are the "buy the pint" nights held on Wednesdays about once a month. The Abbaye also hosts quizzo on Thursdays, Two Wheel Tuesdays, and karaoke on Sundays! Though I find myself here every week, there are a few points where this hot spot of Northern Liberties can fall flat. The kitchen can disappoint every once in a while. Things like soggy fries or under-seasoned chicken tenders can be an occasional occurrence. Another low point could be the TVs. They are sub-par if you're looking to catch the Eagles game for the evening. Overall, if you're looking for a hidden gem in North Philly to grab a beer and a bite, this is a great option to consider.

Went to eat at this restaurant called @Abbaye in Northen Liberties. We were seated fairly quickly outside, but the service was horrible. We literally sat for over an hour and was never served our food. People that was seated at the same time as us ate their food, left and new people sat down. When we asked the waiter what the ETA was on our food he kept telling us a few minutes. By then the ice had already melted in our already watered down drinks. It wasn't lost on us that we were the only African Americans I'm attendance. I have no clue how long it takes for a burger and chicken fingers, but surely it doesn't take an hour or more. We eventually just got up and left, but how disappointing is it to still be treated black I'm 2022? The only reason I didn't act a fool out there is because I knew it wouldn't have made a difference. Now I'm sitting in McDonalds drive thru because we never got to eat.

We came here on a Friday as soon as they opened at 11:30 AM. We were their first customers but the restaurant and bar quickly filled up by noon. The hummus plate was $10 and came out with warm grilled pita, crumbled feta & olives and a piece of roasted pepper. Delicious! I saw pictures of the Abbaye Cheesesteak online and decided this is the one I wanted - mainly because the bread. It isn't your typical soft long roll bread. It's hard and does not get soggy quickly. The steak was a bit chewy but the sandwich as a whole was good. The fries that came with the dish was so nice and crispy. Perfect to dip with the garlic aioli sauce or hummus.

Walking into the Abbaye at 7pm on a Thursday night it was quite quiet inside. The bar seemed empty, but I wasn't alarmed as I found out every Thursday they host quizzos (beginning at 9). I ordered a glass of Pinot to drink and the fried cauliflower as an appetizer. It has an asian twist to it. unique and tasty. For dinner I decided to go with the grilled cheese (sub tomato soup) for dinner. The grilled cheese was made on thick cut pieces of Texas toast. I personally didn't care for the bread to cheese ratio. It's hard to screw up grilled cheese. I give it a 3.5/5. Abbaye is obviously a beer establishment and since I don't drink beer I can't comment on that, but I will say they have a lot of choices and options. It definitely looked like a beer lovers heaven. I will note by the time dinner was done and I was ready to go the place filled up in preparation for quizzo night! I can tell it's definitely a neighborhood favorite.

*Bar review* Great ambiance, really friendly bartenders and a solid selection. Prices are also fantastic, and they had some fun beers on tap. Great spot for a date or hanging out with friends - low-key, but still nice. *Quizzo Review* Easily the WORST Quizzo I've ever been to in my life. Apparently the guy's been doing it for 20 years and I have NO IDEA HOW!!! His questions made no sense and he just rambled through all of them, making what he was asking really unclear. Honestly, the guy just talked to whole time and said nothing of substance whatsoever. There was also a round where he decided to make us guess songs not by playing them, but by humming or singing. In conclusion, I'd recommend going every night but Thursday :)

I can't believe it took us this long to actually eat at The Abbaye especially because my husband is the property manager for it and this entire block in fact. We came on a Friday at 7pm and snagged the last table outside. Man, I love dining al fresco in this town and at the corner of 3rd and Fairmount, it's just a lovely, different change of pace from dining in center city. We were greeted very warmly by both the bartender inside when we went in for a table and from the waiter as well. The drinks we had were both delish. They have about a dozen rotating beers of all sorts on tap ranging from $6-$7, listed on a chalkboard. Some true gems thrown in there. We went with the Duck Rabbit Milk Stout ($6) and the cucumber margarita ($6) which was recommended by a friend. The marg on the rocks was very refreshing, cool and crisp. Not super strong, but just enough and exclusive what I want looking for. The stout was unique and definitely worth trying for any fan of "milkier" beers. We probably ordered one dish too many for our table of 4 but there were some many veg friendly options we just had to try them: Hummus ($8) A fairly big portion for an app! Creamy, delicious hummus and perfectly toasted pita. Some pitted olives and a small bit of salad. Yum! Kiddos tore this apart and still had leftovers! Mac and cheese ($5) The kiddos didn't like it so much and they are HUGE fans of Mac and cheese. Hmm. There was an extra square layer of cheese on top which turned them off a bit and they said it was "spicy" aka peppery, but hubs said it was really very great and old school, homemade tasting. Seitan cheesesteak ($13) diced which is new to me. It does come with cheese but can easily be made without which is how hubs and I ordered it. The seitan was very tasty and juicy, but the roll was a bit tough. The "meat' itself was flavorful but overall, just pretty good, not wonderful. Not enough to really take out of the roll which is how I usually eat it. The Pomme fries which came with it were oh so, so good however! Getting a side order of these to share for the table may be a good idea next time! Vegan wings ($10) SOOOOO GOOOOOD!! I've heard a lot of rave reviews about the vegan wings here and they're worth the hype. They were my favorite dish we had! Perfectly meaty and perfectly spicy. Yum! My only (minor) complaint would be to offer more than just Veganaise (vegan mayo) for the wings. It's not hard to whip up a vegan aioli or even grab a vegan ranch, but they're were so delicious I didn't really care that much. They didn't really need anything. Meat eating hubs loved these as well! Highly recommend these to any fan of wings, vegan or not! The food came out fast. Waters were refilled without asking. Prices were very reasonable. The vibe is super casual and laid back. The menu is a tad smaller, but there's something for everyone including vegans and they do have some very enticing daily specials! We would absolutely eat here again. I want to try that Korean cauliflower I keep seeing! Those wings alone are worthy of another visit. Craving them now in fact. YUM!! Quizzo on Thursdays. Karaoke on Sunday's.

This is my Cheers. Best service, food, and friendly atmosphere. You can always count on a great selection of craft beers on tap and freshly made good food. The owners, Mark and Meagan are constantly doing whatever they can to improve your overall experience at the Abbaye. It is a very relaxed atmosphere. Very welcoming to small groups, children and those that prefer a no nonsense approach to great service. The Abbaye is clean and comfortable. Great bartenders/servers, Marc, Dave, Ryan and Alice. They are all knowledgeable on the bar and food menu. More importantly, they are very good at making you feel comfortable, just like you were having food and drinks with them personally. Check the Abbaye out! Great food specials that you will love! I am here often, so if you see me, say hello.

Awesome beer selection and lots of veggie options? This place had my name on it from the start. Both the food menu and beer selection is on point, they've got something for everyone here. The Korean fried cauliflower is a must try, it's the perfect appetizer. Shareable, with a super flavorful sauce but also light enough that it won't fill you up before your main meal. Veggie cheesesteak was good, but the double open face thin baguette made it very hard to keep everything together. Reassembly required. Utensils will be necessary. Ask for extra napkins. Atmosphere is nothing out of this world, but the service was! Very laid back and down-to-earth staff, but they were professional and helpful as well. Altogether an easy 5 stars in my book. It's worth the 5 minutes you spend looking for parking.

Omggggg the best place ever ! There lemonade is so good and it taste like beer. The chicken fingers are to die for and so are the salads

Fun little neighborhood bar. Tons of events here, and the bartenders and wait staff are always super nice, and usually super quick. Crowd varies a lot, I've seen it packed to the gills or almost empty on the same nights. The food never disappoints as well, and is a welcome diversion from the basics, with lots of vegan/vegetarian options including their seitan wings which are delicious. The huge plate of nachos are also a crowd pleaser, me and my friends often can barely finish them. Great area, pretty close to spring garden for the L or the 43 line if you're taking public transportation, parking doesn't look great but probably wouldn't be impossible to find a spot at the right time or if you were dedicated enough. Pretty solid draft list usually, not just the same old boring light beers. A lot of local stuff too. If you're into trying several different styles come to the once-a-month "you buy the glass night" for some shenanigans.

I ate outside, possibly on the hottest day this week (90+). They allow dogs outside which is why we were eating outside, otherwise, the inside looked lovely and air conditioned. The food was delicious and give you a lot. The cauliflower was amazing. The turkey burger and black bean burger was good, along with the french fries. I wish it wasn't so hot, but that's not the restaurants fault. They also suggested pineapple beer as they were out of cider and it was possibly even better than cider If you want a quick, good place to eat, check this place out in northern liberties.

The environment was nice so a couple of my friends and I decided to check this place out. In terms of the service, it could be improved, we got a little sas from our waitress. Food wise, the vegan wings were delicious paired along with Veganaise and veggie sticks. The fried cauliflower is pretty good having the right crunch and texture. Hummus plate was also good but the salad and feta that came with it was not a favorite. Lastly, we tried the Mac & Cheese and we weren't a fan. I felt the texture was off but, to others it may be great. To each his own right?

I've been a couple times now during covid, and each time I end up liking this place even more! The owner and waiters have been really great, and the food is as well, with plenty of vegan and vegetarian options. They have outdoor heaters and overhead cover. I read a review in which someone said the home fries were the best they'd ever had, and admittedly thought it was a strange statement, because, come on, they're just home fries... but then I had them and oh my goodness, they are quite literally the best I've ever had!! Crispy, perfect seasoning, crunchy onion... incredible. They were the side on a Texas Benedict with biscuits, egg, bacon, and gravy that was outstanding, and they have a veggie Benedict option too! I hope they expand brunch to not just weekend mornings!! I really enjoy the dinner options too. The fried cauliflower is another must get. Entree wise the chicken tenders and fries are my go to, but I do plan on branching out one day :) Highly recommend!

Great corner bar/restaurant! Service was fine, not great, but not terrible. Interesting layout, but I really like it as you enter on the bar side, with the bar on the right and tables lined around the windows on the left. You go to the back, turn the corner, and there's a quieter dining nook that has ample seating. NoLibs is becoming famous for their veg-friendly options and the Abbaye is no different. I am also on a mission to eat veggie wings from as many places as I can! For apps, we ordered: Veggie wings - delicious! Probably the best veggie wings I've had so far in Philly. They're not chewy and the texture is just right. I wish there was more sauce, but I always do. Each bite had a similar consistency of flavor and tenderness. They weren't too spicy either. Fried cauliflower - this was on their specials menu, but fantastic. Love fried breaded things and love cauliflower. The sauce they used was awesome. For dinner, I split two sandwiches: Veggie meatball sandwich - got it with provolone and it was super tasty. The veggie meatballs had a lot of flavor and spice to it - they were good on their own! The sandwich is large and the bread is nicely toasted. It's simple but it's perfect. Seitan cheesesteak - this was okay. A lot messier than the veggie meatball sandwich, but had a nice spicy kick. It was a bit dry and you definitely need ketchup or some other sauce. The onions peppers and seitan pieces do get all over the place as you're eating it. The sandwiches come with shoestring fries. Not the greatest, but they're lighter than normal fries. Overall, a great spot and I'll definitely be back often to eat the wings and veggie meatball sandwich. It has a neighborhood vibe to it, as do most places in the area.

Tats. Every single person in here has tats, just...like...me. The food was deelish. The music was even better: Punk, SKA, UK Anarchist ish. The vodka sodas were the tits and cheap AF. This is a spot to hit up if you wanna get away from the masses of western PA tourists. The Korean fried cauliflower was sick AF. You gotta order this thang. This place seems to be pretentious in terms of pseudo-supporitng vegan nonsense, but I ate the cheese steak anyway, in front of everyone's mugs and I yummed it up. F U. Murrica eats meat.

This place is unexpectedly amazing. Great staff. Great beer. $6 margaritas (strawberry, cucumber, and watermelon). Really good wings. I am very excited to go back. There is outdoor seating for a maximum of 4 per table (they will get fined if there are 5 or more because the seats hang too far out on to the side walk) and a surprisingly spacious interior. The bathrooms are gender neutral and there are little quarter candy machines for added nostalgia. Our waiter told us brunch isn't crazy busy until 12:30, so go early!

I have not been here for many years. Always loved the beer and mussels. Just went for brunch here with a friend while looking for a café in Northern Liberties. Great cafés now in this neighborhood but this is amazing, both quality and price. My friend is having a Texas Benedict (with fried chicken tenders and bacon) for $10 and my veggie Benedict with roasted tomatoes and spinach is superlative at $9. Huge portion too. Both over a tasty buttermilk biscuit with the best crunchy home fries I've had (seriously!). My buddy's coffee is great and I have a Founder's Breakfast Stout for $5 (beers, cocktails, Mimosas and Bloody Marys are at Happy Hour prices). Playing great New Wave which we missed at Ruba Club dance party last night. Getting it now though, lol! Try The Abbaye it for brunch!

Just moved in the neighborhood and this was my first bar/restaurant! I love the quizzo here on Thursdays, very fun and interactive. The drinks and food here are great as well as they are well priced. All the vegetarians should love this place as well; lots of veggie options.

The Abbaye is easily one of my favorite spots in the entire city. I've made so many new friends here and have had so many thought provoking conversations with people. I don't know what I would have done if I didn't find the Abbaye! More and more people are discovering Abbaye and making it a meeting spot for bar hoping in No Libs. Funny thing though is that most end up staying the whole night because they feel so comfortable here. The amazing food doesn't hurt either! Best chicken tenders in the city. One of the best burgers. The grilled cheese with tomato soup is to die for! Be sure to check the specials board!

The Abbaye has been in my top 5 go-to spots for relaxing with a good beer and some satisfying food for years. They have a pretty solid tap list that's generally seasonal, and offer up some creative and tasty pub fare, especially the rotating specials. The chefs always have a good variety of vegan/veg items on the menu, even for brunch. Bonus points for having Yard's ESA on handpump. The Abbaye has a decent-sized bar, and a fairly generous dining area. You'll feel comfortable at a table for 2, but they'll also accomodate fairly large crowds. I've been here with parties of 6-8 on a few occasions with no issues. They also have outdoor seating in the warmer months. I've always found the staff--bar tenders and servers--generally pleasant and attentive. PS: People, stop bringing babies/kids here (or any other bar). We all hate you. Also, actually, don't bring your dog. It's obnoxious. You're synonymous with the guy/girl at the coffee shop with your MacBook Pro. I understand you need attention, but do it somewhere else.

Searching for a dog-friendly place to grab a couple beers and some bites with friends? Look no further. Abbaye checks all the boxes. I liked my recent visit here but wasn't blown away. Service was really good. Very attentive to us and our 4 legged friends. He set out water for the dogs and made sure that our beers were always full. Sitting outside was nice but also a little annoying. The inability to see the beer list from where we were sitting and the lack of a printed version meant that we had to get up to look at the menu anytime we wanted to order another. I just let the server pick and then stuck with that. The beer was good though I can't tell you about the beer list, since I never saw it but I'd imagine it is good since few restaurants in NoLibs can survive without a decent one. We ordered the nachos to share. They were pretty standard. I had higher hopes for the food based on reviews and the opinion of a member of my party who loved the nachos on previous visits here. Pretty standard beer bar IMO. Worth a try if you're in the area but I wouldn't go out of my way to go there again.

The Abbaye is definitely in my top 5 places to go in Northern Liberties. My favorite thing about this place is the people who work here. Not only are the servers/bartenders here kind, but you can really tell that these people work hard. They make sure that your glass is always full, and that you have just what you need at your table. They are also great because they are always willing to work with you if you come with a group. On more than one occasion they have moved tables out of their normal position to accommodate my group, and I really appreciate that because many places will not do that. While the menu is a bit small for my liking, everything on it is a good choice. I've had the wings, mussels, crabcake sandwich, Mac and cheese , and a few other things from the specials menu here, and I've always been impressed. Last but not least, this place is affordable. Their happy hour is awesome (although I wish it was 5-7 rather than 4-6) and their features brewery pint nights are also a great deal. I like that the Abbaye is a tad out of the way of the Piazza-goers so it can still be somewhat of a hidden gem for neighborhood folks only!

A great brunch spot in Northern Liberties. The food was delicious and great bloody Mary's ! The prices were reasonable and a very friendly staff ! Would definitely go back.

My "Cheers", neighborhood gem where you can grab a great beer, the list is always changing. Food is farm to table fresh. The menu changes occasionally to reflect the seasons. Great bartenders and servers. I really miss this place!!! Great vibes good prices.

Came here by accident for lunch today and wasn't disappointed! The waitress was really friendly and it wasn't too crowded for a Sunday. I had the Mac and cheese and was pleasantly surprised to find that it was a baked version (my only complaint is that it wasn't made in a deeper dish) otherwise it was great, super cheesy. The hummus platter was good also. My boyfriend had the veggie wings and vegan meatball sub. The portions were nice sized and he enjoyed everything ! He also had the "tanq dog" which was nicely mixed. definitely a spot we'll return to!

I came back to the Abbaye with 2 friends and Dining Partner on a Saturday around 10:30. We were the first to walk into the place, but it started getting busier once we sat. I took advantage of the $4 Bloody Mary special to find out if I like Bloody Mary's. Turns out, I do not. I drank the entire thing just to make sure. I ordered the sausage gravy biscuit to accompany my liquid experiment and my friends ordered the challah french toast, Texas Benedict, and an omelet. Rave reviews were given to the french toast and Texas Benedict. The omelet guy was satisfied with his choice. The best part of my dish was the homemade biscuit. I think next time I'll go back to my favorite Texas Benedict or try the french toast. Service was good, as always.

This place looks like a little small dive bar, but their food is amazing. Me and my friend shared the mussels and vegan wings then got the vegan meatball sub and it was terrific! You'd love the vegan options even if you aren't vegan; but overall the service was good and food was great!!

Legitimately the best cheesesteak in Philly- I sh*t you, not. Get extra aoili for your fries that come with it also- but seriously you should be thinking about this cheesesteak RIGHT NOW. Then try anything else on the menu because it's far above normal bar food. I can't wait until I can go there again, but in the meantime takeout that cheesesteak!!

Great craft beer selection. Nice atmosphere friendly staff and patrons . Good times. Second time here for lunch OMG had the brisket special. Slow cooked braised brisket with a slightly spicy sauce that is not BBQ. Fried shallots and asiago cheese grated and left to melt as I ate. The fried shallots ( as opposed to onion rings) topped it off nicely as well as the calla bum. Well played. I give it 3 eye rolls ( an orgasm is three as well so no sex needed tonight !!)
