"This spellbinding, Cirque du Soleil–style production at Ho Chi Minh City’s Municipal Theater, also known as the Opera House, turns to rural Vietnam for its inspiration. Mixing muscular acrobatics, visual artistry, juggling, and modern dance, the show employs the materials commonly found in villages as the basis for its routines. Recurring motifs include the bowl-shaped coracle-style boats still widely used in the country, and bamboo poles (used for balancing and as tracks during one particularly confounding, Rube Goldberg–style, conveyor-belt-type passage). As memorable as the nonstop action on stage is the live music, dominated by the haunting sounds of the dan bau, or gourd lute."

The first time I went to see a show with so many emotions. The show is about rural life, old fishing villages of Vietnam. The way of joking, tumbling is skillful. Especially the actors. You did a great job. Many people think the ticket price is quite high. But trust me, it's worth seeing. Try it once.

If you are in Ho Chi Minh, then you should definitely watch this show. They gave you welcome drinks and a short tour of the Opera House’s history. We had a great time experiencing the arts of what Vietnam had to offer. Overall, it was a great evening.

This is a great show if you're a tourist. Think of it as an adaptation of cirque du soleil- but Vietnamese. Lots of talented acrobats. It tells a beautiful story with lots of old fashion styles and time. The actors are very interactive with the guests. Tons of laughter throughout. Would recommend seeing once to know. It's also in a beautiful theatre. I recommend buying tickets online beforehand. Afterwards, you can get photos with the cast!

This is a MUST SEE every time you come to Saigon! My first time in Vietnam since I was adopted from here when I was 18 months old. I came back to experience my culture and the orphanage I came from. This A O show was amazing and perfectly demonstrated the Vietnamese circus art. It was really meaningful to me considering I do acrobatic arts myself. I was truly amazed at the difference between American circus arts vs strictly Vietnamese arts. Coming from San Diego, California I will definitely be coming back again and make these A O shows my tradition. It’s definitely a one of a kind experience and not your ordinary circus. I truly enjoyed every single individual and their talents.

A O Show in Saigon Opera House was such a fantastic way to fill your bucket list when in HCM. You can tell by the performers how much they have worked for the show to become successful. You will find many aspects of Vietnam in the production and also the acrobatic side, songs, instruments and etc. You cannot miss this! Thank you to all who made this production possible for tourists and even locals to enjoy.

I Was unable to take pictures in the show, they were very strict about it which is fair enough. The show had great production value, it was funny, chaotic and showed aspects of Vietnam life it was well choreographed. There were a few key scenes where one or two performers showcased amazing individual ability. We got the cheap seats and they were fine, but a few rows back from the front. However it was less acrobatic and athletic than I was led to believe. We've seen shows in Cambodia with none of the fancy stages but way more raw athleticism. You will definitely enjoy it, just set your expectations accordingly.

I thought the show was beautifully scripted. The opening music, with classic Vietnamese singing, was heartfelt and nostalgic. Overall, I loved the play and went back the second time with my family.
