A Casa das Janelas Com Vista

We loved our stay. Property is very comfortable. The common area in basement is a lovely spacious place to sit and read, rest, and the coffee tea service is wonderful throughout the day. Rooms are small, but very comfortable, great bathroom, great water pressure for shower. The breakfast was the best we had on our two week trek through Portugal, plentiful and varied. Staff was helpful and pleasant. We loved the neighbourhood where it is located in Barrio Alto. A busy neighborhood but where the home is was very quiet, but close to everything. Could walk to heart of Chiado in 10 minutes. We loved the stay and would 100% stay again when in Lisboa.

So much attention and love for the details - we really enjoyed our stay here. Beautiful rooms, best possible reception and breakfast area you can imagine! Just important to note: there is no elevator in the building, so might be an issue for some people to come upstairs. Other than that, highly recommended

Based on a colleague’s previous positive impressions I went ahead and booked a 5 night stay in November, and generally everything was great. Service, breakfast, amenities, location. It’s all good. So what more could you want? I think during summertime, it must be absolutely in order, and you could enjoy a cool room after a day of exploring. During my stay in Lisbon in November I experienced a sudden temperature drop from about 20 degrees Celsius to perhaps 13 and even colder at night. This got me sick, because not only did the outside temperature drop, so did the room temperature and I think the AC couldn’t compensate for it either because it had the wrong setting or it simply didn’t work. I tried to adjust it, but to no avail. I went around and saw all windows and doors were closed, so I am suspecting a possible leak somewhere – where cold winds on the outside can just slip right in. I had to take a warm shower when I came back one day, to get warmed up. But after 10 minutes the room felt super cold again. I am almost certain the room (the superior double at the top) was much colder than in any other places in the building, because you could sit in a t-shirt in the reception area, but back in the room I had to wear two jackets when sitting by the table. Made me regret I forgot my insulated coat. Back in my own country, where November is much harsher, I feel warmer inside. But it’s because we have proper heating with radiators. I understand radiators are probably not needed as much in Portugal as in my home country, but I would want to know that rooms can actually have comfortable and stable temperatures if the temperature should drop as much as they did, when I went to Lisbon, before considering booking a stay at this place again in the month of November. However I would have no doubts if coming back during summertime!

I loved my stay at Casa das Janelas! It’s a charming hotel with friendly staff. The location is great. You can walk to a lot of restaurants and to Rossio Square–just be prepared to walk on a lot of steep hills with narrow cobblestone streets. I would definitely stay here again!

This is a lovely small hotel that is conveniently close to things in Lisbon, but is on a quiet street for restful sleep. The staff were helpful and took care of our requests promptly. The breakfast was great, rooms clean, and the overall experience very positive. I would highly recommend this hotel to family and friends.

loved this hotel- the rooms were super clean and the beds were comfy, the service was great- they addressed any issues we had super quickly, were helpful in showing us cool bars and restaurants to go to, and the location was absolutely perfect for exploring all of lisbon. the breakfast was also amazing and the hotel has a really cool vibe! definitely recommend staying here

An unusual setup for a hotel leaning more towards a family atmosphere with a fabulous service, beating most of your expectations. Location is right behind the famous spots in a secluded street, peaceful and quiet. A must to experience in Lisbon!
