Been there for the first time. The place was cozy but atmosphere as really amazing. Its a small brewery but wonderful to have some chats with friends and drink. They have tasting beer and you can choose from different variants. And while they serve, they even let you the which one’s are the soft and hard with receipt of drinks simultaneously. The food runner ladies were very friendly. The view from the balcony is amazing, you can see the sunset. Overall my experience was wonderful. Might visit their very soon.

Been at the Manly Wharf location several times and the experience is always the same - brilliant! Known for their beers, of course, but come for the food as well! Had a superb burger with my daughter, best we've had for ages! It came a bit late, and we were given a free beer and a wine top up by a lovely staff member, Anna... Completely unnecessary, as the burger was excellent, but shows the care the team have for their product and name! Well done 4 Pines team, see you again soon!

We stumbled upon this brewery when leaving manly and oh so glad that we did. Now this place gets crowded but you can reserve a table, which I highly suggest. We didn’t have reservations but we’re able to snag a seat at a side table. We had the hazy pale ale and an amber, both weren’t bad but the star of the show was the fish and chips. The fish was fantastically prepared and my mouth is watering just thinking about it. It came with fries, pickles and tartar and everything on the plate was superb. Although the tartar was fantastic, the fish did not need it as it was crispy and flavorful. I’d 💯 go back just for the fish and chips

Booked a corporate lunch following the Spit to Manly walk and 4Pines was amazing at organising and catering our lunch. The food options were excellent. They accommodated our few Vegan/Veggie colleagues, and were easy and pleasant to deal with throughout. I would absolutely recommend 4Pines to anyone wanting to host a team event. The beers also just happened to be great. Of course.

Been here twice and happy to say that both experience has been enjoyable. Beers were stunning and good. With a couple special in house choices. Food were slightly expensive but they were good pub grubs to go with the equally good beers. You can get a paddle to try their selections before going in on a full pint when it's happy hour!!! That way u get to try more on a visit! Hehehe.

Absolutely fabulous! Awesome burgers and the best fish and chips ever! Great range of beers and the staff were super friendly and helpful. Super pub in a great location.

We had a great time here eating and . They are conveniently located right across from the Manly ferry station. I only wish their seating was a bit higher so you can see more of the water while you eat. It's a fast casual format, so you order and pay at the register, and then food is delivered to you. We thoroughly enjoyed everything we ordered. We tried the shepherds pie, steak and fries (medium rare cooked to perfection with just salt and pepper), and their fish and chips. The latter was fried perfectly, with the fish still very moist while the outside was crispy. I'm an IPA guy, but I understand that IPAs don't seem as big outside the area I live in. 4 Pines didn't have any true IPAs on tap that day, but honestly, I always drink IPAs, so it's probably good that I was "forced" to try something different. I enjoyed their flight of beers very much (Pale Ale, American Amber Ale, Hazy Pale Ale, Nitro Stout), though I have to say the PB&J wasn't for me. Fortunately, they gave me a tasting before I committed to this. That said, my brother in law loves their PB&J! I'm not a stout guy, but their stout was delicious, creamy, and smooth. I didn't love their American Amber Ale, but that's okay since everyone likes something different! All in all, a great place to hang out, grab a bite, and enjoy some brew!

Yummy beer and really good fish & chip! On our visit to Manly Beach, we decided to grab a quick bite here. Upon getting off the ferry from Circular Quay to Manly, we made a beeline for this brewery that's across the street from the ferry terminal. The brewery is located on the 2nd floor, with wooden interior, and a balcony overlooking the street and ferry terminal. You order at the bar, and they bring the drinks and food to your table. We came here during happy hour and enjoyed a few of the beers. All the beers we had were good. What we didn't expect, was how good the fish & chips was. Fresh, perfectly fried, we pretty much inhaled it. Even the chips were quite yummy. If you find yourself at Manly thirsty for some beer or food, 4 Pines is a solid choice! Pro-tip: In addition to Happy Hour beer prices (for select beers, just ask), there's also a special each day of the week. Check those out before placing your order!

Located across the street from the Manly ferry station, this local craft brewery had great fish n chips and a delicious alcoholic ginger beer from Brookvale Union on tap.

Loved this brewery! Good food, good beer and they had live music with some very talented musicians. Come early to try to get a seat on the balcony!

I can't like this place enough! Located right across from the ferry, this brewpub has it all. First, they have lovely outdoor spaces - we ended up on the lower level (they call it the Keller) because the upper was packed. Second, they have beer. You can get a sampler, or try one of the dozen or so tap varieties. The Mister tried their award winning Schwartzbier - he said it was really good. Third, if you don't like beer they have a really good wine list for a beer place. A well poured glass of bubbly for $9 is what I'm talking about. If you're hungry, there is food. Staff was really friendly and so were the other patrons. We ended up chatting with folks and staying way longer than we'd intended but it's that kind of spot. And they're dog friendly too! If you like beer and nice people, 4 Pines is a must stop.

Really good nitro stout, super friendly staff, semi outdoor seating and good music (first time I'd heard Red Eyes - The War on Drugs in a long while). British immigrant voices discussing the Premier League give it that classic pub feel! Really happy I stopped by here, would highly recommend if you're in Manly.

Good location. Close to harbour. Lots of beers. Clean. Clean bathrooms. Bartenders are conscience! Seemed like the burger was the item to order. We ordered fish and chips. Nice lightly battered fish. $28. This is a good place to enjoy a beverage and a large bite!

4 Pines is definitely a highlight for the ferry ride to Manly. Convenient to the ferry terminal via a short walk, 4 Pines is Manly's own brewery and offers beer flights and individual glasses in three sizes. I ordered the Sunday special of roasted pork, served with vegetables, roasted potatoes and Yorkshire pudding. So tasty and juicy with a highly appealing presentation. Awesome beers and a warm setting and friendly servers. I want a 4 Pines in my hometown.

This food was so good. The servers friendly and location ideal being so close to the wharf. The only ding I have is the absence of customer WiFi and absence of cider on tap. Otherwise this was a winner.

4 Pines has been around since 2008 and it is still just as brilliant as it was when it opened. Great quality beer, higher end pub grub, good vibes, excellent location and views, and live music on many an occasion. Although they were recently acquired by AB Inbev they still have their local feel going on. I came back to Manly recently to visit and I knew I wanted to stop by 4 Pines. I managed to come twice, once with a friend and once with my parents. Both times we had a chat with nearby tables and generally a great experience. My favorite beer is the IPA but I also like the kolsch and summer pale ale. They have 6 packs/cases to take home and some cute merchandise including t-shirts, hoodies and trucker caps. I bought a trucker cap that I plan to rep in my current home of New York. It was decently priced a $15. Love this place, really cosy and familiar. Well worth the trip to Manly if you're thinking about it.

Luckily for me, I came to 4 Pines when they were having a burger and a beer special for $25. It's situated barely a block from the Ferry Terminal, making it very easy to find and get to, and it faces the water which allows for great views if you're on the patio. There was a good list of draught beers to choose from; however some where sold out. I'm assuming it's considerably busier later in the evening, because my wife and I were the only ones there around 5:30pm. I forgot the name of the beer I ordered, but I felt like a dark beer and this one fit the bill. As enjoyable as it was, it was very heavy and almost hard to finish the pint it was so rich. I ordered their Kimchi burger. The meat was pretty good quality, but had very little seasoning - even salt and pepper. The kimchi used was a bit toned down from more authentic kimchi, but was still pretty good and helped compensate for the relatively little seasoning in the patty. It was served with thick cut fries which seemed to be fresh cut. The beer is the star here for sure, but the food does the job too.

Hands down this was our favorite place in Sydney. Highly recommend the ferry ride to Manly where the scenery combines all my favorite things as a California girl who lived in Colorado for 8 years. Beaches & pine trees & great beer! The Australian craft beer scene is a few years behind what we have going on in the US (as we learned on a Sydney pub tour), but you wouldn't know that if you spent the trip drinking 4 Pines! By far the best pale ales and IPAs you'll find in Australia! Highly recommend this place for the beer but you'll also see they have some delicious fish & chips as well!

A Destination When Visiting Manly. 4.5 Stars. 4 Pines Brewing was on my must-visit list while in Sydney on business. Was offered a complimentary 10 min tour by Patrick including history of its start up, and origin of the name. Amazing what they produce in a small area. Located upstairs and across the street from the Ferry Wharf Lunch was tasty & fresh Fish & Chips and two Pale Ales for $37 AUD without tip. Friendly staff. Delightful Pale Ale brewskies. Tip I: Dine outdoors weather permitting. Tip II: Flyer obtained from Manly Visitors Center offers free small beer with main entrée before 5 pm...I forgot to apply it to my bill.

Wow! Great beer, good food, and fun atmosphere. What a great stop before heading back to Sydney after a morning walking around Manly and enjoying the beach. The bar upstairs is very comfortable. We ordered a paddle of beer and some chips and sat down. All five beers we sampled were tasty! We liked them so much, we ordered another paddle along with a delicious brownie that was served on yoghurt with salted caramel. It went extremely well with their stout beer! The bartenders were friendly and knowledgeable. It was just a comfortable place to sit and relax before catching the ferry back to Sydney. I'd say Four Pines is one of the best I have been to anywhere. I'll be back next time I'm in Manly.

Ok so I yelped this place and was super pumped to come here for the beers and food and when we got here there was a little confusion. We walked down stairs but also figured there was a upstairs by the look of things but didn't know how to get up there or where to get the food. Asked the friendly bartender what the deal was being our first time and he told us to order food and beers from him and to take a seat he'll bring food to us! Awesome but the menu downstairs was nothing like I saw on yelp!?!? I wanted a burger and all I saw I this menu was small plates kinda different stuff like pawns, broccoli with anchovies on top, bread plate with hummus? Ahhhh where's the flippin burgers and fish and chips?!?!? the friendly bartender told us get 3 small plates for 20 Australia dollars during happy hours so we picked prawns, broccoli, and bread hummus plate. As he brought the food out I said to him hey did you guys change your menu? Where's the burgers? He politely said upstairs has all the pub food we got the small plates and craft beers down here. Wish he would have said that in the beginning because we where hungry and almost left but didn't and glad we stayed! We ordered a 2nd round of what we got instead of going upstairs for the pub food it was so good! He said downstairs has only be open for a few months maybe they want people to try it before going upstairs don't no but glad it happened this way! Also get the Schwarzbier A light "DARK" beer not to hoppy if you're into that sort of thing! Would give it 5 stars but the confusion of the upstairs VS the downstairs information should be more clear.

Great place to stop while visiting Manly. We shared a beer flight and ordered the burger and salmon salad. Outdoor seating was nice on a beautiful day. Highly recommend!

What a happening place !! ...... if you like their beer then you should pop in and experience the whole 4 Pines way of doing things. The food compliments their entire range of beers and if unsure a long tasting paddle should help narrow down your taste buds. It's normally pretty busy around lunchtime and especially on hot days when the allure of an ice cold beer is just too tempting. I highly recommend you pop in if in the area and enjoy a fun lunch and drinkies with friends.

Great variety of house made craft beers. Vegetarian friendly menu. Friendly staff and a nice outside seating balcony. Defiantly worth it especially for the veggie tacos and a fresh pint.

Great brew pub. Super crowded. I didn't particularly like the lack of table/waiter service but it worked out. While I ordered my mate snagged a table near the open windows. Food and beer were excellent! And what a nice ferry ride over and back from Sydney harbor!

What a place to come across on our visit to Manly! After doing my research on Yelp (obviously) I added this to my list of things to do, and took my ever-willing parents along. We found it easily enough, tucked away from the main shopping area and up some steps, it felt secluded enough to retain its 'local' feel but still have plenty of hustle and bustle from tourists. The microbrewery inside was great to see, and I loved the set up - I felt right at home and the whole place wouldn't look out of place in the Northern Quarter of Manchester! Not a beer drinker, I had a few ciders, while the parents had the sampler, before moving on to their favourites. The selection isn't exactly vast, but they appear to have a wide variety of both dark and light brews, plus their changing Keller Door option, which is much more of a mystery. 4 stars purely for the fact it doesn't have much of a view; if only it could be on the other side! If you're a beer lover and want something other than lager, this is the place to be - it's right off the ferry and can ease any sea legs you may have!

3 minute walk from the ferry terminal. Loved this place! Only wish was that it had an ocean view. I had a beer flight consisting of Hef, Kolsch, Pale Ale, ESB, Stout and added a taster of their seasonal Maple Pumpkin Ale. Also had the chorizo and shrimp hot pot which was a fairly small portion but had great flavor and a spicy kick. All yum!

Came here after a long hike to and from North Head. Husband said this was one of the best hefeweizens he's ever had. I had a tasting rack for $18 which is quite a steal when you see the size of the tasters. Quick, friendly service and delicious beer.

We caught a ferry to Manly to try out this little brewery by the wharf. It was during an autumn sunset and the place was brimming with people. We couldn't get a seat by the balcony so we went inside. They have a great selection of European style beer. I tried the Belgium beer (it starts with H and ends in N ... but it's not Heineken) and it was pretty good. The guy at the bar recommended that we match the beer with their sticky date pudding. I thought it was a strange combo at the time, but I was proven wrong. The beer and the caramel sauce dessert went really well together. The ambience was great with the growing crowd and the live band playing in the background. Next time if we get a better seat, we might try the meals too.

Open air, big selection of decent beers and a laid back atmosphere make for a great spot for a drink on your way to or from the beach. It's right near the ferry terminal and about 5 to 10 minutes from the beach.

Great beer. Great food. Great location. Great brewery. Just simply great. Whenever i catch up with anyone in Manly this is my first thought of where to go. The beers made by the 4 Pines boys are top notch - and they taste even better when poured straight from the keg here- which isn't surprising considering they're made on the spot. They have the full 4 Pines range on tap as well as rotating seasonal beers on the 'Kegger Door'- 10 points if you try them all! The place has a really great atmosphere which probably has something to do with the view of the water, the live music, and the general comradery which comes about when you put a bunch of good people drinking good beer in a room together. The staff are all friendly and its just a great place to be. If you can get here midweek it is definitely worth it. Specifically because Tuesday is $25 pint and curry night and Wednesday is $25 pint and ribs night! That's right! You get a pint and a massive plate of 'step over your own mother' tasting ribs for $25! Don't go to ribs and rumps- come here on a Wednesday and enjoy the great ribs for cheaper and with better beer. Whilst I am a big fan of all the beers here- I must also make a special mention of the Ginger Beer they have on tap.The Brookvale Union Ginger Beer is definitely worth a try. This beer actually got some bad press for its label which was seen to be slandering Ganesh and the Hindu religion about a year ago, but its clearly blown over as it hasn't changed. My guess is that once they tried this amazing brew- all was forgiven. It is by far the best ginger beer I've ever tasted and I've had a few. Whenever I come here this is the one pint I always make sure I get. Do yourself a favour and drop in to the 4 Pines and say hi to glory that is this mighty place.

If you go to Manly Beach (which should be on your short list), stop by this awesome brewery for a taster or a pint and a bite to eat. It was a little confusing to find the entrance to the pub which is upstairs- and has a different vibe and menu than the room that is just a bit below the sidewalk level. We sat on the balcony and enjoyed the great weather while trying quite a few of the beers on tap. We actually liked almost every one we tried- with each having a distinctive flavor and style. In addition to the core beers- they have small batch brews that knock your socks off. I was lucky to try a Scandinavian ale as well as a cask ale that I loved. Delicious beer and an amazing giant warm, but-filled brownie- served on a bed of fresh yogurt and a swirl and drizzle of the most rich amazing caramel sauce. Get the beer, get the brownie. You will love it- I promise!

4 Pines...you're a lifesaver! After a few days in Sydney, I was so disappointed in the food I've tried, but this place hit the spot!! First of all, I loved the look and feel of the restaurant. It reminded me of being back in California. There is a balcony area and plenty of seating inside. Loved the decor and the servers were awesome! Beer tasting- Came with 5 small cups of beer. I had my server choose the 5 he recommended. My favorite was the pale ale...so delicious. Fish & Chips- Was cooked perfectly, crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. Came with crispy fries and a fresh salad. Couldn't have asked for a better meal! Creme Brulee- Another hit! It is cooked with their cider. Would have loved to have done the beer tour, as they brew their own beer here. They only offer it once a day.

As a Californian with a intensely high standard in beer these days given all the crap upstarts, I expected little from this tourist trap location. Boy was I surprised. I sampled a number of their beers on their cool wine barrel glass holder. Each not only met the expectations of their beer type, but many were awesome. They had an ale that was so creamy and perfectly balanced, it made me rethink what I am drinking these days. I went from their lager thru stout and IPA. The ESB and Amber were probably the best, but all were good. Apparently this beer has been to space. Sadly I didn't write down what I had or I would be more helpful here. Key to my post is to inspire you to give it a go if you are like me and initially wrote it off (until some rain) as a unlikely spot for good craft beer.

I have to say, my initial impression of the 4 Pines brewpub was not good. It was a Saturday night, 6:30, and about half of the seating was reserved. It is already a poorly laid out space, and for a seat-yourself, order-at-the-bar joint, I thought it a bit weird that so much of the restaurant had been cordoned off. So we didn't have dinner at 4 Pines, deciding to return later for what we had really come for anyway--the beer, which is among the best I've had anywhere. Upon our return, reinvigorated by thai food and less irritable, my girlfriend and I were stoked to try 4 Pines on tap. An aside: we both love beer, and since 4 Pines is one of the only craft breweries we've found in Oz, we decided to spend our anniversary there. Anyway, we didn't regret it. I had two of the Keller Door offerings, holdovers from St. Patty's Day: Irish Cream Red and Black Forest Stout. First of all, these were the two best, most flavorful dark beers I can remember having, although notably on par with 4 Pines normal stout offering. The Black Forest stout tasted uncannily like cherries and dark chocolate, and the Irish red--more black/burgundy than red--was reminiscent of actual Irish cream with its beautiful head and initial mouth feel, although it tasted a bit like wine. Of course, the beers my girlfriend ordered--the standard hefeweizen and Casual Golden Ale--were superb, too. So yeah, overall: 4 Pines = 4 stars.

Enjoyed a nice flight of beer with my cousin. Across from the Manly Wharf makes for a convenient location to relax, take in bay, and share time with friends and family over some excellent beer.

Amazing atmosphere! We sat outside for lunch with a great view and close to the warf. Highly recommend the manly burger if you're hungry. We also had the chicken pot pie which was huge! You won't leave starving! If you're thirsty, try the beer flight! We did have a chance to do this but saw a few around us and it looked awesome! Great brewery and awesome times!

It was the best fish chips I had have for a long time, it is very flavour and crispy. Really yummy :-)

Cool little spot with local beer right outside the Manly Wharf. Took the ferry over from Circular Quay and after a few hours at the beach needed a beer. I ordered the Manly Mega Burger which was, well Manly! Double burger, double cheese, DOUBLE MESSY! The burger instantly fell apart which was a shame because it was so pretty! I completely demolished it when I cut it in half. It was quite tasty but such a mess. Too much mayo (for my liking!) It was a huge, beautiful tasty burger but not the best burger I've ever had. The beer was delish! I had the 4 Pines Hefeweizen, but there were a lot of options. My husband had the Chicken Parm which was possibly one of the biggest pieces of chicken parm I've ever seen. And it was served over a heaping pile of french fries. The size of the portions explained the higher than average price tags as well. I just wish the bar was on the beach instead of overlooking the lovely construction site being built by the ferry station!

Had lunch off the beaten path of the wharf after arriving to Manly via the ferry from Taronga Zoo. Food was really good, atmosphere was nice, and the views were pretty even though there wasn't much water to be seen from this place. Great for people watching. Food was good. I had the manly burger which was huge and juicy. Fries were also really good. Can't say I've had a bad fry since I've been in Australia actually. Would eat here again. Everyone enjoyed their meal and their beer. Nice big selection.

Nestled off Manly Beach's beaten path sits an innocent little microbrewery. Unassuming and simple in decor, this place has one serious little secret. It produces some of the best beer in Australia. Located above the Manly Cinemas, 4 Pines is a great place to chill out and escape the "scene." Grab yourself a spot at one of their communal wooden tables or cozy with the locals on their outside wrap-around bench. Just whatever you do, make sure you try a few different beers. If you're like me, you will fall in love over and over and over ("I know I said I was yours, Pale Ale, but the Hefeweizen has stolen my heart."). With regular beers at $6.5 and pints a $9.5, you can probably afford to sample a few. If you have a favourite, however, grab yourself a 4 Pines growler and fill it for only $20. This is ideal if you're heading to a BBQ or picnic and want to overshadow the dude that brought the sixer of Pure Blonde. Also ideal if you've looking to get twisted on your own and don't want to bother with removing beer caps every 10 minutes. I'm not saying I condone this, but hey, I certainly wouldn't judge you either.

Had the American IPA, so good x2. Expertly balanced use of hops with all the rich flavor but not the excessive bitterness found in most American IPAs. As of this writing, Google Maps has the pin location wrong. It's actually around the corner on E. Esplanade.

Australia isn't quite Portland when it comes to craft beers, but it's definitely a stealth competitor on views, and you really can't beat grabbing a pint or a tasting flight after a day hiking in Manly and staring out onto the wharf. Overall, the beer is tasty, if not the most avant-garde, the food is pretty good, and the atmosphere is fantastic. Not to mention they play an excellent soundtrack. Definitely a place for beer lovers visiting Sydney to go, and I imagine a place I'd frequent often if I lived nearby.

I was going to be funny and give them 4 stars because they're 4 pines but they deserve 5 stars. The beer is amazing and the food is great. The service and the vibe is great!

Took the fast ferry to Manly and came here for dinner and drinks. It was a Wed evening and they were doing Ribs and a pint of beer for $25. What else could you ask for? Very busy and friendly staff. Great evening!

Searching online for Manly Brewery could be an interesting experience I'm sure. But finding a brewery in Manly Australia is definitely worth it. We went looking for a pint. Got a flight. Loved every beer. Ended up getting lunch here too. The fish and chips were tasty and fresh. And then there was the Hot Pot. Mmmmm, the hot pot. If you're not an aussie it might sound odd but give it a shot. Tiger prawns, smoked chorizo, and an amazing base. We could not have found a better place. Just walk 100 metres from the ferry and grab a great brew and some glorious grub. Oh, and they have growlers, which seems really hard to find in Oz (I'm from the US where every brewery has a growler fill available).

Yo dude this place is poppin. Burgers at level 1000 and beers are pretty good and pints flowing like niagara. Come on down because Texas supports this place and that means a lot AYEEEEE

Beer was terrific! Food was great! Lively place and friendly atmosphere. Visited from Nevada and was not disappointed! Gotta try it, it is well worth it !!!

What I love about this place is its commitment to not only their beer but their food as well. It's definitely not a "pub" but rather a pretty nice restaurant with amazing beer. My recommendation if it's your first time is to get the sampler- you'll get 6 tastes (I think, maybe 7) so you'll get to experience a lot of what they have to offer. Personally my favourite is the Kolsch followed closely by their Ginger Beer. You can also get beer to go from here, so once you've found your favourites you can take them home with you! As far as food is concerned you definitely have to get their "chunks"- perhaps a terrible name, but they're probably 4-5 times fried over french fries that are out of this world. Pair that with one of their burgers and some beer and you'll be in heaven.
