Best breakfast sandwich I've had in a LONG time! The toasted challah made the sandwich even BETTER! They had a ton of staff working, so everything was made quickly, but accurately! They were all friendly and very helpful. The space is a little small, so I can't imagine how crowded it can get on a busy weekend, especially if it's rainy outside so no one would sit outdoors. Will definitely go back if I'm in the area again!

We were in town to handle so business and our flight landed early so we chose this spot for breakfast. Wanted a place close to our destination and this was a good option. When we walked in, we were a bit confused at first as Noone acknowledged us and we thought we'd have to order in a screen. Finally someone came to take our order and we each got a sandwich, no drinks. While there is some seating, it's not extensive and seems to be laid out more for quick eating and moving on which I don't have a problem with. What I had an issue with is that none of the tables had been wiped down so we had to clean off our tables ourselves. My son and I got the Major sandwich and my other son got something different. Sandwich was good and very hot and filling. The bacon on the sandwich was thick and well cooked with a hint of sweetness which rounded out the flavors nicely. My bottom bun was falling apart which made it hard to hold the sandwich. It's a busy spot with loads of delivery people constantly in and out picking up delivery orders. Great location for a quick bite on the way to work or if you live close by.

Cracked Eggery is good but could be a bit more flavorful. I've been a few times. On my recent visit, I got the Green Eggs No Ham, which has scrambled eggs, tomatillo salsa, chives, and goat cheese. The sandwich looked great, with a golden bun and fillings peeking out the sides. There wasn't too much salsa inside, though, as some spilled out into the container. It tasted good, but needed a bit more flavor -- maybe more salt, or more salsa, or one extra ingredient. I had the same opinion on previous visits and with other sandwiches -- they look great, taste good, but just lack a little something. The Shaw location is pretty barebones, with a handful of seats. It's just counter service so nothing special.

Ordered this via Uber eats and let me tell, it was absolutely delicious even though it didn't come as fresh/warm! I can only imagine going to the actual location physically and having a bagel right then and there. My girl and I tried the southern charm, the animal, and garlic parm truffle tots. Everything was so good! I ordered the animal but actually liked the southern charm more. I highly recommend this spot to anyone looking for a delicious breakfast sandwich! I am looking forward to trying more of their items.

Food was great! I loved the garlic tots and their burger. There's not a ton of seating area.

OVERALL: does the work when you're hungry but leaves you wanting more flavor FOOD: don't get me wrong, the sandwich was good, but I was expecting something more. Maybe more flavor. This was great quick, casual breakfast. The atmosphere was relaxed and inviting, perfect for a quick meal-in or grab&go. I ordered the Soul Bowl, and while it was delicious, I found it to be a bit heavier than I anticipated and more of a lunch dish. The flavors were spot on though and the service was friendly.

This is one of our go-to breakfast order spots at work. Our order for 4 people is always correct and ready on-time. The sandwiches are fresh and filling. We've tried a variety of them and none has disappointed. Southern Charm is my favorite so far. The tots are good too. The best we've tried is the garlic parm truffle. These tots are better than most and not overly oily.

Great hearty breakfast egg sandwiches for DC-inflated price. A group of us checked out Cracked Eggery when it opened. At first, we were a little thrown off by the price- over $8 for a breakfast sandwich seemed a little pricey. However, the sandwiches were quality, the kind you would get at a brunch restaurant. Also, all the staff there were so friendly and helpful. I would definitely go back if I had the chance, but probably won't go there just to go get the sandwich.

Ordered the Loaded Tots, it was very good. I suggest trying this place if you are in the DC area.

2nd time here and instead of trying the bowls, we tried the sandwiches. Very filling... so be prepared for a bit of grease but very tasty. Quick service at the counter and casual ambiance.

YUMMY !!! Don't pass this place up this is a must try if your in the DC area! Very filling serving size you can honestly share one sandwich since there loaded! The ingredients tasted so fresh and everything was cooked just right. Whenever I am in the DC area I will definitely be having breakfast here again! I had a few custom request for my sandwiches and they were so nice and accommodating about everything. We got our food in less than 10 min, overall a great experience here that left me craving more. It's a small bright and open space quick grab and go ambiance with a few seating arrangements in the front to enjoy your breakfast.

In my opinion, there aren't enough egg-centric fast-casual experiences and Cracked Eggery is among the top. I had the St. Elmo's Fire bowl, including fried egg, buffalo-flavored chicken tenders, blue cheese, cheese and tots (possibly more). Loved it. Will return. Located a few blocks from Howard University.

I looooooove it here! My co-workers and I are here as often as we can be. There are a lot of options for breakfast, and the service is always stellar! They have a cute setup, allowing you to dine in if desired. My favorite dish by far is St. Elmo's Fire, it's the perfect blend of spicy, tasty and filling! I also love the fact that I can redeem points, which often times means I'm not paying the full price for my meals!

My friends and I were in DC for a long weekend and needed to grab breakfast. Saw this place was close by and it had good reviews. The atmosphere was clean and inviting but seating options are limited if you want to dine in. It's more of a grab and go place though. There were only a few customers when I arrived but the place quickly became very crowded, especially with to-go orders. Service was quick and the food was very good. I had the Abe froman which had scrambled egg, sausage, cheese and their special sauce. Bun was toasted nicely and it was a good portion size. We got the large old bay tots to go with it which were fresh, crispy and loaded with old bay.

Saw this place on TikTok and figured I'd give it a shot. Wait wasn't long. Food came out hot. While it may be for some it's just not for me. I can totally deal without the sauce as it is a little too sweet for me. The bread is amazing, along with the bacon but the sauce overshadows the sandwich for me. The same goes with the tots as the presentation is amazing but the egg and sauce mixed in don't do it for me. $40 bucks for two sandwiches, tots and drinks which isn't bad, just not for me.

First of all, I love a sandwich lol This had a great portion of smoked salmon and the blend of flavors melted this altogether so perfectly. I devoured this sandwich. The service was super quick with a call-in and the ingredients tasted so fresh. I wanna try the half-smoked next time..

This food was quick and delicious. I was deciding between the Mayor and the Inigo. And the server Faye suggested the Inigo. It's a chorizo with a hard egg, arugula and lemon aioli. Everything was delicious!

I've ordered from here twice now through DoorDash since it's close to my job! If you need a FILLING breakfast without ordering a whole lot, this is the place for you!!! Natalie's OJ is a MUST every time!! It does have pulp but I'm a pulp lover so I order it every time. So refreshing. The first time I ordered The Animal. It is a sandwich with bacon, egg, cheese, sausage AND hash browns all in one! My only complaint was that either it didn't have enough of the 'cracked sauce' or that it was all on one side, so it came off a little dry. I was full almost halfway through. The second time, I ordered Mr. Briggs Stuff. This sandwich had a halfsmoke, egg, cheese, chopped onions, and mustard. Perfect (!!!) brunch combination. The halfsmoke was a good size and not too small. So cohesive and delicious. The buns are soft every time. Everything worth the few extra pounds I might've gained!

I had one of the worst customer service experiences I'ved had in my whole life. I ordered two sandwiches and two tater tots, and everything was fine until I politely asked for a sauce for the tots. The 'manager' responded rudely, telling me it would cost extra. I frequently visit this location, as well as the one in Arlington, and have never been charged for a sauce. When I asked if a complimentary sauce came with the tots, he snapped 'no' and walked away. I then asked what sauces were free, to which he replied, 'ketchup.' When I asked for some and extended my hand, he threw the ketchup into the bag without acknowledging me. I told him that his behavior was extremely rude and unprofessional. He then started yelling at me, getting uncomfortably close to my face, and shouted that he had been a manager for over 15 years and didn't need a lesson in customer service. I was so shaken that I left in tears. My husband went in to ask for his name, but the man refused to give it. The so-called manager had brown hair and a septum piercing. Overall, his behavior was incredibly rude and uncalled for.

This place is a hidden gem, located at the kiosks on Water Park at Crystal City. My wife and I were looking to eat lunch and she located the kiosks, let try it out. It was amazing, starting with the ordering, the young lady that served us was friendly and inviting, took our orders patiently (first time orderers are usually lost). The food took a little bit to be cooked, but since it was being cooked fresh, no complaint. The food was amazing, my wife ate the Hamilton Porter and I had the Cracked Burger, delicious, cant go wrong with either. I highly recommend this place.

I am so not a fan of messy sandwiches. Unfortunately, this was a messy sandwich. I got the "Mr Brigg's Stuff", which contained smoked sausage, a fried egg and cheeses. Well, I was definitely interested in the fried egg. But I didn't know the yolk wouldn't be cooked. So, when I picked up my order and opened the package, the yolk had broke and was at the bottom of the container, and all over the bottom of the bun. Of course this would make this hard to pick up and eat. Instant deterrent from enjoying this sandwich. All the ingredients tasted fine. The bun was fresh, the smoked sausage had that crispy snap, and what was left of the egg tasted ok. But it was still a disappointment because of the mess. Too bed there wasn't a scrambled option for this particular sandwich. Now, as a side I got the small old bay tots. These hit the spot and were way better then the sandwich. And dunked in the cracked sauce took them up a notch. If there is a next time, I'm definitely going for something with scrambled eggs.

This is my first time at the 8th Street location and it's cute, with minimal seating. As always, the food is so so good!! It seems they may have expanded the menu a bit as well? Not sure. Not pictured -- but I also tried the French toast and it was amazing!! Service was spot on too, like always, Please bring a location to Richmond !!

I ordered takeout from here so I'm giving them the benefit of the doubt that perhaps their food just doesn't travel well. This sounded like a great idea as a hangover breakfast, I'll have to circle back and try it in person, but don't make my mistake. Go in and try it to stay. Not recommended as a to-go spot.

I mean it when I say Cracked Eggery is my holy grail. This establishment just does not miss. They do a wonderful job on classic breakfast items while still providing all the right taste/seasoning. I'm a huge fan of their healthier plates but will devour those crispy tots any day, any hour! I often order from Uber Eats and can I just say presentation 10/10, delivery speed 10/10. If the food is still tasty, crispy, and hot being delivered then they gain my full respect lol. Grab you some Cracked Eggery asap!

The best egg sandwiches around. The best part are the many flavors of tater tots/potato crowns. The bbq, old bay, and ranch are all great options to pair with those fluffy brioche sandwiches. Also love the canned Gatorade.

Came here for dinner because I had a hair cut at The Burrow and needed a place to wait - the place is clean, quiet and has seating for about 20 people. I ordered the Green Eggs, No Ham b/c I love goat cheese and I could definitely taste that. The bun looks like it was brushed with butter. There was some tomatillo salsa but I didn't really taste it - so wouldn't mind more of that.

This place is good for what it is - a quick breakfast stop where you can get egg sandwiches and/or bowls. My personal favorite sandwiches are the Inigo Montoya and The Animal. I love the variety of sandwich options that they have to fulfill almost any craving. The portions are perfect to fill you up in the morning and they also offer a variety of tater tots styles/flavors as a side - garlic truffle ftw, always! A simple and fast yet satisfying breakfast spot.

We went out of our way on New Year's Day to grab a sandwich but they said they were too busy & weren't accepting any orders. We were absolutely starving & would've accepted anything at that point, so certainly would've appreciated alternative options than just to leave.

I've been waiting to try this place because I usually don't eat breakfast. I was especially interested in The Bubby and The Mayor, so I carefully read the reviews and decided on The Bubby and Salted Tots. I was surprised when I received my warm sandwich, which looked promising. My tots were crispy but not hot. Overall, if I happened to pass the restaurant, I would possibly get a sandwich, but I wouldn't go out of my way to get one.

Got takeout for lunch today. Blew away expectations. Seriously big portion for the all meats, cheese, and hash browns. Their own sauce has just the right amount of heat. Bread is thicc and they put just a little something to make sure it doesn't get too dry. And to top it all off it doesn't fall apart at all like a lot of over the top sandwiches.

It was my first time ordering and John was friendly and helpful. I ordered The Basic :No American No Cracked Sauce Add Avocado. It was delicious! I came in search of Avocado toast and found something new and delicious!! At John's suggestion, I added avocado Thanks John!!!

I was blown away by this place ! Such a delicious breakfast spot. Customer service was A1. The dining area is small but nice as you can sit by the window and see the street view. The food was amazing, from the bacon all the way down to the other toppings. The orange juice is made fresh and it was delicious. Highly recommend !

This is one of the few places in DC that's opened for breakfast at 7 am and it's super tasty! I had the Southern charm that was $12 before tax and tip. It had fried green tomatoes, egg, bacon, pimento cheese, arugula and aioli and while it was delicious I wouldn't recommend it for breakfast. The tater tots are fried fresh making them super crispy and tasty. The staff is nice but for $14 I don't think this could or should be anyone's regular routine.

I really liked this spot! I'm not much of a breakfast person anymore, but when I crave it, I need it BAD and it CANNOT be subpar. Luckily, I stumbled upon this spot while I was in town! This place can get busy, but everything moves VERY quickly, including receiving your order. My cashier was really sweet and patient. The tater tots are delicious, the coffee is good, and most importantly, the sandwiches are amazing. I really like the bun in particular. I got The Animal without cheese, but it looks just as yummy with it. I'll be returning here whenever I need a quick breakfast in the area!

Starting out as a food truck, this Shaw location is Cracked Eggery's second location in D.C. Specializing in egg sandwiches, they serve them for breakfast, lunch and dinner. After ordering takeout for a group of friends on a Friday in June, here's our experience: 1) Food: They have 14 different sandwiches most with fried egg on top, six bowls, 10 different tater tots, four items on the kids menu, a few sides and salads, drinks and Compass Coffee (they have a location next door so it makes sense). Each sandwich is really good, but if you like a sweet-savory combo, order the Southern Charm with a fried egg, pimento cheese, bacon, fried green tomatoes, arugula, and lemon aioli. My five-year-old daughter enjoyed the kid's egg and cheese, which comes with a small fruit cup and a hash brown. 2) Space: It's in a development full of restaurants and shops. With large windows, lots of natural light pours in, hitting the tables. Neon signs decorate the space, including one that reads "Shaw," honoring the neighborhood. 3) Service: It's friendly and you can tell the staff are proud of what they are making. 4) Ordering: For some reason, their online system didn't let us order ahead so we ordered when we were 15 minutes out. It was ready on time!

Cracked Eggery was so delicious! There was a line out the door when we arrived but our order was taken almost immediately. Seating is limited but we were lucky enough to grab a booth. I ordered the Bubby sandwich was absolutely delicious! It had a good helping of smoked salmon and the fried egg was a perfect touch. I wish the bun was a little more crispy but overall very happy with my meal!

Great food, but maybe a little overpriced for what you get. Very nice atmosphere. A great place to meet friends for drinks.

My partner and I popped in here on a random whim for a quick brunch, and it turned out to be a great choice. The woman at the cashier was so friendly and welcoming as soon as we (and everyone else) walked in the door, and she was super patient as we read through the menu trying to make a decision. We decided on the Mayor and the Inigo Montoya, as well as garlic Parmesan truffle tots. The Mayor was like the quintessential American breakfast flavor profile, while the arugula in the Inigo Montoya made for a good "healthy" balance LOL. I really liked both, but honestly the Mayor might have been too much for me if I ate a whole one for myself. I wish the bun was just a little bit softer and fluffier, but otherwise no complaints. The tots were crispy and delicious too, with no flavor overpowering the others. We got lucky with parking but it's definitely not the easiest to find in this neighborhood. But after a good first experience (and my fav compass coffee next door), I'll definitely be back to try more sandwiches!

Omgggg!! No really, OMGGGGGG!! Who ever thought that a breakfast sandwich could taste soooo amazing!! The Cracked Eggery has really stepped up the breakfast game and has completely redefined breakfast sandwiches! I was placed my order through Grubhub. Iselected the Southern Charm sandwich and the honey butter tots! The sandwich was so huge, I couldn't even finish it all. Not your normal bacon, egg and cheese, the Southern Charm comprised of a fat bun, topped with bacon, egg, arugula, pimento cheese and a lemon aioli! The flavors were indescribably amazing! Definitely not like any another breakfast sandwich that I've had before! The tater tots were also very good! I really wish I could have grabbed another sandwich to take back to Baltimore. I definitely wouldn't have survived the drive. I guess that means another trip to DC in the very near future!!

This is my second time at the Cracked Eggery and I can't get enough. It's small inside but not super packed either time I've went. I wish I could replicate this sauce! The loaded tots are so good and filling and loaded with all the toppings. The French toast is soft and buttery and does just enough. I will definitely be back my next visit!

a breakfast sandwich that isn't a bagel makes me feel sacreligious but sometimes we do hard things - all these sandwiches are on thick glistening challah which was super tasty and added a slight sweetness! however there was so much bread that my more mild flavored sandwich was slightly overpowered - here we got the bubbie, lox, a lil cream cheese, a fried egg, and a caper tapenade (once the bread was picked down to normal quantities) added the best kick!! loved that. everything bagel seasoning too was nice for texture change from pure ~slime~ - the animal had scrambled eggs, bacon, cheese, and sausage....I think it quite earned the title of animal. this was very much destroyed and appreciated by my company. - overall decent breakfast sandwiches, nothing like crazy but I'm not mad. an abundance of packaging for like tiny sandwiches (they should make the bags something you take if you personally want).

I first tried Cracked Eggery as a food truck so I was proud to see them have their own brick & mortar location. Not one, but two brick & mortar locations! This one in Shaw is sleek and fresh looking embellished with their signature neon signs. The food they make always hits the spot. I'd recommend "The Animal" decked out with eggs, bacon, hash brown, sausage, and crack sauce - you'll feel like an animal as you take your first bite and aggressively continue to scarf it down! Not only are the food and vibes on point, but the people running the place are genuine, hard-working people. Much love Cracked Eggery!
