This is a small niche in the International District. It is to go. The food is excellent. My favorites are the beef shanks, meatballs are huge and the best Vietnamese Saigon meatballs I've ever had. Their braised pork belly with hard boiled eggs is really really good- I like to crumble the whole egg over my pork. The pork and beef and chicken is so very tender- it's excellent. Their bàhn mí is excellent- the bread is so fresh. It tastes like they bake their own bread. I've had the roasted pork bàhn mí about three or four times now, it's excellent. The roast pork is super tender and the flavors are wonderful. I'm not quite sure if the vegetables are pickled and or what butter they use- along with paté but the flavor is superb. I would try their other sandwiches but the pork really hits home. The people that work there are very friendly and it's a nice atmosphere- I walked in one day and the place was packed full of people and they quickly served everyone in minutes- extremely efficient and great quality. I used to make my own braised hot pot - tendon, cartilage, beef, meatballs etc. but why when you have it done perfectly by this nice spot in the city. Totally worth the drive~ Thanks everyone!

Very hole in the wall. Very Vietnamese. They got Banh Mi sandwiches going for $6ish. They got hot food combos for $10+. Affordable. No idea what any of the hot food items are or much of anything since nothing there is labeled. To go spot

No frill spot for viet sandwiches, ordering is easy and it comes out fast. There is parking in the lot but I would be careful and read the signs. The spots on the same side of the store seems safe bAlmost got a ticket from those private parking inspectors within the 5 minutes of running in and out of the store.

I happened to be near the CID and decided to stop by for a takeout. The food is plentiful. I mean, I wish I had some photos but they were stacked. I decided to get two item combo with pork belly and beef stew. Additionally, I got a premade drink which I have no idea what the name is. It was milky drink with jellies and beans. Delicious! The to-go container was so packed. The food was enough for two meals at minimum for under $15. Not a bad deal. I didn't see any seating but it was very clear the place was best for quick takeouts or pick and pay. The parking was pretty plenty at the time and there's a fence around the whole mall which makes it seem safer. I would definitely check out the spot again for a banmi and the Vietnamese iced coffee.

Overall Thoughts: This takeout only spot in Seattle's Little Saigon is small but quite chaotic with workers buzzing around you and a busy line usually forming around lunch. For $6, the banh mis are very solid and hit the spot; the bread is fresh and flakey. They also have a large selection of packaged foods and hot lunch boxes, which all looked delicious. The service is quick and efficient with no frills. They accept both card and cash. Food I tried: - Roasted pork belly banh mi (4.5/5): The pork belly was really fatty, but flavorful and delicious. The ratios of bread to pork to veggies were good. - Three kinds of ham banh mi (4.4/5): The pate was creamy and the cold cuts were tasty; this is a classic that you can't go wrong with. - Banh cuon - prepackaged (4.4/5): Tasted good; its soft and delicate texture paired nicely with the crispy shallot toppings and delicious sauce. -- Price (relative to peers): 4.6/5 Food: 4.4/5 Ambience: N/A Service: 4.5/5 Overall Value: 4.5/5

Whenever I'm driving in South Seattle, I always try to make a pit stop at Saigon Vietnam Deli. They have so many pre-made, ready-to-go food items on top of a vast Banh Mi & plate lunch selection--it can definitely be a bit overwhelming if you don't have a game plan! Nothing is labeled so I'm never 100% sure what I'm getting, but it's hard to go wrong. I'm very partial to their banh cuon and what I think is pan-fried radish/turnip cake w/ egg. The Mango Salad is also very refreshing, and a great deal at $10 (and comes with shrimp)! Their banh mis are solid for the price point, but I usually try to stick to the pre-made or plate lunch options to try to eat as many unique options as possible! Parking lot is super convenient, and the employees are friendly/helpful. Note this is a to-go spot with absolutely no seating, so take your delicious food for the road!

Came on a Thursday around lunch and it was busy with a small stream of people ordering and moving in and out of the store. It's cramped but certainly loaded either way lots of grab and go items, some refrigerated items, and hot food items. I ordered some viet coffee, chicken curry, banh cuon, nem nuong banh mi, and a rice platter. All of this came to a total of $37 which is an amazing deal since this can be eaten over multiple meals. The value from this small deli is amazing! It's such a great option for a quick and affordable lunch. I'll be coming back for sure!

I came by for lunch and to grab some items for family. They have another location right around the corner, but I found the parking here to be easier in their shared lot with the strip mall this location is in. Once inside, there was a large menu board and some prepared foods laid out for purchase. I ordered 3 banh mi dac biets and 1 charshu banh mi. I also picked up some banh cuons, which were prepackaged. Upon arriving home minutes later, I discovered I was given 3 charshus and 1 dac biet, the opposite of what I ordered. This made it difficult to give people in my group the right banh mi. Otherwise, they were pretty good, but nothing special. I did like how the banh cuons came with just the rolled stuffed with meat and no sides except fish sauce as I typically don't enjoy the sides as much. There is an upcharge for using a credit card so bring cash!

This tiny Vietnamese spot is a hidden gem when it comes to affordability. While I didn't find the eggplant or shrimp dishes particularly flavorful, it's great to support a local business. Plus, with such budget-friendly prices, it's hard to complain. Just keep in mind there's a $5 minimum for credit card payments.

Omg Bahn Mi for $6 and a plate lunch for MAX $11. I was so filled up after and had plenty for left overs. It's a hole in the wall and don't expect the kindest/best service, but the food is going to be quick, hot, and delicious. There is no place to sit and it can get crowded during rush hour. Be prepared to get in and out. I also got pandan honeycomb bread which I have been craving and it was super moist and yummy. 10/10 recommend

An affordable grab and go spot that offers hot takeout, premade meals, and freezer/fridge bulk food for later. My bahn mi was toasted, creamy, acidic, savory and the perfect size for lunch. The sandwich was transportable and not too messy to eat straight from the wrapper, factors that don't always hold true for bahn mi.

A friend recommended this place to me, and I'm so glad I bookmarked it! I found myself in the international district with a friend and needed a quick bite. We made our way here and were in and out within five minutes. There was a wide range of options, including prepared and packaged foods and menu items made fresh. We got two banh mis and a coffee smoothie. The banh mis were warm and well-filled with veggies and an ample amount of meat. The smoothie was huge and only $5! This establishment has some of the most affordable lunch and dinner items in Seattle. I'm definitely coming back to try more menu items in the near future.

Amazing customer service! We had called ahead and ordered 50 sandwiches. They were ready first thing in the morning. They helped me load the three giant trays of sandwiches into my car without me having to ask for help! Would recommend Saigon Vietnam deli for any catering events!

The man behind the counter was so friendly and charming! I ordered the pork bahn mi, and he gave me a to go box of bo la lot for nearly 1/2 off as it was close to closing. I ate the sandwich driving home, and it was absolutely delicious, But, the pork was quite tough. The next day I warmed up the bo la lot and it was delicious too! Especially the sauce it came with. Sadly, I was sick after. But it might have been something else I ate as I had some problems in my fridge. So, a mixed experience, but I'll try again, earlier in the day.

Buss or Sus... Fat Buss. $6 for a banh mi sandwich. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? My boyfriend and I got 2 banh mis and a Viet Iced Coffee each. The banh mis came warm with the usual fixings. Such a good affordable meal. I will say the french baguette will scratch the roof of your mouth, but it's so worth the pain. It'll be a great place to grab and go when you want something filling and quick. Service reflects the same. They standing on business. Comin back again for sure!

Little shop where you come and order Togo food. It's small but has so many food options to select from. They also have pre made dishes you can grab and go. Got bbq pork banh mi it was yummy! As well as spring rolls and pork and egg bun Bao! All their food are cheap and tasty!

Confusingly there is another deli with a very similar name, but luckily both are quite good. My parents and Iike this deli for their inexpensive and tasty banh mi, the banh it tran, the bo cuon la lot, and the pate chaud. For me, the banh it tran (glutinous rice balls stuffed with mung bean and shrimp) and the bo buon la lot (beef wrapped in herbal leaves, like the Vietnamese version of dolmas) are the best. The banh mi bread is excellent and light, but the standard Viet cold cuts version is meager on the meat. The roasted pork (heo quay) version has a good portion of meat, but sometimes the meat doesn't seem the freshest. The grilled meat version is solid. The pate chaud is flaky and the filling isn't too fatty. Prices are very reasonable.

My favorite Vietnamese hot case in Seattle and the sandwiches are great as well. Not my favorite banh mi in town...but a solid choice and comes with the most pronounced pâté of all the sandwiches I have tried. Give it a try.

A pretty average banh mi place that's enough to satisfy a craving. I ordered their three kind of ham and bbq pork banh mis. I enjoyed both of them, and their value is great! Hard to find another place around Seattle that's much cheaper than $4.50 per banh mi. The bread itself was light, airy, and well toasted. The pickles could've been a bit more fermented. A little heavy on the mayo. An okayyy portion and quality of meat in the sandwich, I've seen better and worse, but again... this is a great value meal. I did feel a little sick afterwards though with a mild stomachache and diarrhea. As far as cleanliness goes, this is a pretty rustic place with heavy foot traffic from the homeless population. I really felt bad for the shop because in the 5 or so minutes I was waiting around for my sandwiches to be made... 3 homeless individuals stole food off the counter. While visiting here, I just recommend being very alert.

This is my first ever Bahn mi and omg now I crave it all the time. It was soo juicy, moist and the bread was perfect. Their topping sauce was the magic that binds it all together. They give a lot of portion so it wont' disappoint you. It is my favorite place in Seattle! Highly recommend it. The ambient is cute and the service is great! The staff recommendations were the best .

This deli has been around for a LONG time! I've been coming here since early 1990's. I think they have been around since early 1980's! How's that for a fixture in Little Saigon?!? This place may seem a little intimating when you go in. Chances are you'll hear lots of Vietnamese being spoken. Don't worry though, there is at least always one person who speaks perfect English. Sometimes it's the kid. :) Their offerings are in 4 categories: 1. Banh Mi sandwiches Look up to see their menu. I believe the current price for one is $4. Same price regardless of type. 2. Behind the counter hot foods This is where things start to get a little bit mysterious. There are no labels to the names of the foods nor prices. They sell by container size. I've bought eggplants + tofu and green beans + tofu, and was happy with both the amount of food and the cost. It was maybe ~$4 to $5 for the small container. 3. Grab and Go foods These are less intimating but still no names and no prices. The savory items tend to be $4 while the sweet items tend to be $3. You can't really go wrong just grabbing some to try it. 4. Snacks, grocery story type foods and refrigerator sweets For the latest purchase, I did #3 only and chose: Banh Cuon (savory, $4) - 4.5 stars Tender rice-flour crêpes filled with a mix of pork and mushrooms and topped with fried shallots, dipped in Nuoc Mam Cham (fish sauce mix) Taro, egg, scallion stir-fry (savory, $4) - 4 stars This re-heated really well at home. I pan-fried and it was sizzling hot in no time. Banh Da Lon (sweet, $3) - 4 stars Pandan and Mung Bean Cake - I honestly don't know what is the authentic version of this. The pandan layers are more gummy than I know them to be. Doesn't matter. I still liked it.

Been coming here ever since Seattle Deli was demolished across the street few years ago. While you still get similar banh mi, egg roll, and other deli items, hygiene level can definitely be improved. Ladies behind the counter had their masks pulled down that they pulled back up to make the banh mi but makes you wonder what goes on when patrons aren't watching. Never disappoints when you're craving a $4.50 banh mi that will fill you with grilled meats and pickled veggie goodness but be aware of where the food is being made. I try to eat a new deli item each time I go - I'll learn the names of these one of these days!

Food- great variety for typical VIetnamese (VN) deli. All made in house. Food is fresh! I enjoyed the food, though my family had mixed reviews. On par with other VN delis. Dislike prices are not clear on the packaged food. Service- very nice and friendly. At first they seem abrupt, but they warm up. Grab and go service, no seating area. Ambiance- small and dingy looking (but that never deters me). Value- fair. Food is "cheaper" then other delis, but quantity of protein in sandwich and pate chaud are less. Location- in a not so fancy strip mall. Going west bound on Jackson, you make a right on 12th. Then immediate right into the strip mall. Has parking! Recommend- yes, to support businesses. The warm service makes me want to return.

My go to place for my banh mi and other vietnamese comfort food to go. Sweet people who work there. Super tight and often get crowded due to popularity and small space. You can tell its a place for regulars or local construction workers. The owners know their customers and know their orders as soon as they come in. Super cheap and living in Bellingham I order bulk when I find myself in Seattle. Never leave Seattle without spending at least $40 worth of all my favorites.

Everything from here was SO.BOMB. We tried the hum bao (HUGE, had an egg and sausage piece in it which was crazy), two of the banh mihs (these were only $4.50 each and were large and filling), spring rolls, and mango salad. Whatever seasonings and dressings they used in that banh mih - omg so good! ALL this food was 20 something dollars. It's located in a strip mall and it is a tiny store, takeout only. It is BUSY but food is prepared super quickly.

Takeout only deli counter with cheap viet food! This place is tucked into a random strip mall, but had tons of foot traffic coming in and out. I called ahead to order a bunch of banh mi's and they were ready by the time I arrived. We got 6 banh mi's to go. They were all pretty bread-heavy and didn't seem to have enough veggies/meat in them. Roasted pork: best of the 3 I tried. Roasted pork was pretty tasty but I wish there was more meat in the sandwich Bbq pork: pork was chewy and not super flavorful Shredded chicken: chicken was super shredded and super dry. Definitely the worst of the three Feel like I've had better banh mi's elsewhere, so maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. I'd be open to coming back and giving this place another try given it's good reviews and variety (and also try non sandwich foods).

Please be forewarned that the service style here is quite old school and blunt, but this style is suitable for crowd management when it gets busy, in order to keep the line moving. So don't be afraid if the shop looks busy, the line moves fast! *#1 Thit Nguoi ("3 kind of ham") Banh mi: Current price is $5. Pretty sure they don't charge tax if you pay in cash. The portion size is moderate, not huge, and the taste is quite decent and simple. It's not overflowing in meat and pate, but it's balanced with the pickled veggies. There's also a variety of freshly prepared take-out items (ex. steamed bao, rice, soup). Not the most exciting or fancy items but it looks authentic.

If you want to try some common dishes that Vietnamese people usually eat for lunch and dinner, then definitely give this place a try. They do have a variety of options to choose from. Food was well-seasoned and tasty. I bought chè thái here, and I don't really recommend it. They also have bánh mì as well. The neighborhood is a little sketchy imo, and this is take-out only. Cash only, if I remember correctly.

If you like Vietnamese Bahn Mi the # 1 and # 8 (spicy) here at Saigon Deli are Bomb. 10/10. We come here every time we visit LBC next door and it is always a win.

Great spot for a banh mi sandwich. Super cheap and quick service. Good parking lot out front. There are additional items in the fridge and pantry items inside. It's a small space, so there isn't a straightforward line or clear waiting area that doesn't feel like you're in the way of someone. RE COVID protocols: Social distancing is nearly impossible, and although it wasn't required, I kept my mask on inside. I've never had a meatball banh mi before, and I really enjoyed it. The meatballs were saucy and flavorful and the veggies felt fresh. Definitely worth $4.50. I think they used to only accept cash. I saw about about 5 people pay with cash, but I saw one person paying with card.

Review for Banh Mi enthusiasts: Went here because Saigon Deli was closed and I was craving a banh mi. Hoped for a similar quality, with high skepticism that it'd live up to the Saigon Deli across the street on Jackson. Consensus: Really dry, flavorless banh mi. Very rarely do I get a banh mi that I struggle to finish, but I truly did struggle with these. My recommendation would be to skip this place for the banh mi and go to Saigon Deli.

Small place located in a small strip mall with many authentic Vietnsmese dishes. The prices are super reasonable and definitely worth it. I had the #1 banh mi and was impressed with the quality and taste of the sandwich.

Great little shop located in International District that offers eats from Banh Mi, Banh Cuon, hot foods, Che (dessert), various drinks, etc. My go to at Saigon Vietnam Deli is their plain Banh Cuon and Banh Cuon with meat. Banh Cuon consists of thin sheets of rice batter. Its usually paired with Nuoc Mam (fish sauce), cha lua (pork roll), greens of choice (cilantro, sliced cucumbers, etc) and topped with dried onions/shallots. I can't wait to pick some up this week! Yum!!

Tasty yet affordable grilled pork bánh mì and taro bubble tea. Yum! Of note: this is a run-in and pick-stuff-up place, not a sit-down restaurant. There is no seating inside. Great for a grab-and-go picnic!

Such a variety of appealing food that we have to go try some! Will revise after we do. Meantime, while waiting for my wife to finish shipping next door, I got an iced Vietnamese coffee here. It cost about $5 and the container was a couple inches short of full (HUH?!) but it was delicious. Hope to report more soon, the food does look good!

I've been coming here since I was a freshman in high school. They've always had amazing prices and are very very fast. So fast you better move out of the way when your order or they'll remind you, lol. This place is a well oiled machine and don't dare take it personally if you happen to linger too long and someone tells you to move. It's kind of the beauty of this place. I prefer the bbq chicken to the shredded and always ask for extra Mayo. My favorite is their Won ton Soup but you must either call ahead or wait 20 minutes. Keep in mind this place is very authentic (ie, maybe different than typical Vietnamese places you've experienced) and serves all types of people in Seattle. If you don't know what something is, just ask, clearly. The priority is getting food out fast so don't take any offense if you feel rushed. Also its deli, so no seating. It warms my soul places like this still exists. Show your gratitude and please make sure to tip, say please and thank you to the staff.

There is not much to it from the outside and the location could be sketchy for some people with littered parking lot and transients hanging out but once you get pass that, the place is a treasure cove. They have a good variation of home cooked Vietnamese food items ready to pack and go. The Vietnamese sandwiches are the better ones in the area and their iced coffee will get you buzzing for days. I love the guy running the place. He is probably the friendliest and most polite person you would find in a Vietnamese deli. I am happy to support a local small business and would go out of my way to frequent them.

Great little spot in Little Saigon to get some Bahn Mi. I came on a Sunday night about an hour before closing. There wasn't a line, so I was able to order right away. I got the roast pork and barbequed pork Bahn Mi, each was $4. I also got one of the already-prepared spring rolls, which was also $4. I'm writing this after only eating the barbequed pork Bahn Mi, which was was delicious. The baguette was nicely toasted, and they gave pretty thick slices of barbequed pork. You get the classic combination of pickled carrots and daikon, cilantro, cucumber, and jalapenos. Not much to complain about, just a very solid sandwich. The spring rolls were okay, they did overdo the iceberg lettuce. They also don't contain any vermicelli noodles, so it's literally just shrimp and lettuce. Not the best, and definitely not worth $4 for just 2 rolls. The interior is very bare. There's a counter that houses some food already prepared, both hot and cold. That's also where you go to order. There's a fridge on the opposite side that houses some drinks and frozen items you can buy. At with most places in Little Saigon, it doesn't look to be the cleanest of places. And there aren't any tables inside, which is more reason to just get in and get out. They're pretty quick about getting you your food, so that shouldn't be a problem. The outside is pretty hard to notice driving by, it'll just say "Saigon Deli" - the "Vietnam" text is very small. There's a small private lot for the whole plaza, which was pretty empty when I came. It's a Bahn Mi place, so expect that raw, rugged atmosphere. There's Vietnamese employees yelling inside, no sense or order, etc. But the Bahn Mi are pretty worth the visit. A great, cheap meal.

That roast pork Banh mi hit it out of the park. It had two meats, the roast pork and the char siu. It felt one two punch. The flavor is amazing and I would totally recommend that sandwich

Probably the best banh mi in the greater Seattle area. I've tried banh mi at several other places but this is the best. I like the meatballs the best. I always tell them I don't want the chili pepper but they add them in anyway and I have to take them out manually. Lately I've asked them to separate the veggies in a bag when I get take out. Then when I go home I put the bread and meat in the toaster oven and add the green stuff later... ah heaven. I love it. I've also had the hot food a few times. Not too bad. Sometimes there's a long line in the small store when it's busy but worth it.

Price is absolutely unbeatable. Selection is wide and staff is friendly if you have no idea what you want. There's a bunch of food out and available for you to look at or order from the menu. The wings are bomb, but always forget to take a picture when we buy them.

The best Bahn Mi I have ever eaten. This tiny Vietnamese deli is tucked into a strip mall near Seattle's International District, and despite being relatively easy to miss, is always packed. Mountains of various dry goods are organized around a counter displaying an incredible selection of freshly made and packed to go traditional Vietnamese meals and snacks. Steamed buns, fresh rolls, stir fried vegetables, vermicelli, and other plastic wrapped classics are available at extremely low prices. I got the Bahn Mi Chay (aka Vegetarian tofu) which was superior to any vegan bahn mi I have ever eaten before. I feel like Bahn Mi's are similar to pizza in the sense that even bad ones are kinda good, but truly great ones are rare and to be celebrated. Saigon Vietnam Deli's is packed with huge chunks of fresh tofu, marinated in a sweet and subtly spicy chili sauce, along with heaps of pickled vegetables, fresh cucumber, and jalapeños. The bread was obviously baked that morning, soft and substantial with a lovely crunch on the exterior. It is difficult to comprehend that this exquisite balance of textures and flavors costs just $3.50. My boyfriend likes their BBQ pork version best, if you eat meat. We also got a large container of broccoli and snow pea stir fry, which was prepared with thinly sliced bean curd-do not skip this dish. I loved their "French Coffee", which is brewed in the intensely rich Vietnamese style. They use Cafe Du Monde's dark roast beans with chicory, which is one of my personal favorite coffees on the market. If you like Vietnamese food, you must try this place.

It was really small space, fit around 5-8 people max but the auntie who served us food was super friendly and the food was also amazing. We got the grilled chicken banh mi and the coffee in the morning for our hike. The coffee was really strong and the banh mi was SO GOOD.

This place has always felt like a hole in the wall kind of shop and I enjoy coming here ever since I was a kid. This is my usual go-to when I want to get cheap, tasty, authentic Vietnamese food. The sandwiches here are the cheapest I've ever seen and comes in a variety of choices. I usually go with the combo (three kinds of ham) or grilled pork. I also love their Hum Bao, Banh Beo, and Banh Uot. They also offer to-go lunch box combos that seem to be very popular. I haven't tried it myself yet, but it looks worth the price which is very reasonable. They even sell Vietnamese coffees to-go which is great. A lot of good things for me to say about this place. Definitely my favorite out of all the Vietnamese Deli places in the International District. Highly recommended.
