"Trattoria Ultimo, Ukrainian Village. They’ll offer a paper menu at Trattoria Ultimo, a little slice of rustic Florence right on Chicago Ave., but you won’t need it. The stars of the show will be presented table side courtesy of the constantly-changing chalkboard which will feature a range of appetizers (recently rosemary-flecked chicken liver paté and housemade blue crab ravioli), entrees, and fresh pastas. As in Italy, seasonality heavily influences the menu – in late-October we were treated to a simple bowl of taglioni and cherry tomatoes generously covered with freshly shaved black Burgundy truffles. There’s no bar, but bring a bottle of wine (or three) to enjoy with your meal for a small corkage fee."
