"The American Royal, West Bottoms. Many in KC think of the Royal as simply the World Series of BBQ. But it is a pretty big part of Kansas City’s history, dating back to 1899. For instance, sports fans, did you know that our beloved Royals were named after the American Royal? And that the crown was inspired from the American Royal’s logo? For the purpose of this website, I’m talking about the building itself versus the fall festival. I recommend going inside and poking around the American Royal Museum. It is a bit outdated, but full of really interesting stuff, and some juicy history of the many American Royal buildings before. And there's a mechanical saddle. Just saying."
