"Ghost Church, Pilsen. One day exploring the neighborhood, I happened upon a local ruin. The facade of an old church caught my eye because something was not normal. Light was pouring through the windows and doors. Turned out it was just a facade and all else had been excavated. A little research revealed the Podmajersky company that started rehabbing old buildings as artist lofts years ago, created this destination within the blocks of Pilsen for everyone. They "saved" the Evangelical Lutheran church at at 19th and Peoria by stripping it of its stained glass windows, altar, pews, and back and side walls leaving only its facade and spirit. It is lovely and works every bit like a church should."
