"Bookstar, Studio City. This location, originally the Fox Studio City Theatre, was designed by renowned theater architect Clifford A. Balch. Its doors first opened in 1938 and the movie house was an early attraction to the Studio City neighborhood. Now a branch of Barnes & Noble, much of the original facade, ticket booth and marquee remains as a salute to the historical landmark. The interior continues the splendid, art-deco experience navigating visitors through neon signage and restored original murals."
