"Despite multiple re-designs throughout its history, this one block parcel of outdoor community space has long been derided by design professionals. Its current state, conceived by Ricardo Legoretta in the early 90's, is bedecked by colorful post-modern geometries that, on one hand, create an unseemly contrast against the surrounding scenery, and on the other, add a plucky air of whit and whimsy.
