"Despite multiple re-designs throughout its history, this one block parcel of outdoor community space has long been derided by design professionals. Its current state, conceived by Ricardo Legoretta in the early 90's, is bedecked by colorful post-modern geometries that, on one hand, create an unseemly contrast against the surrounding scenery, and on the other, add a plucky air of whit and whimsy. Pay a visit to the Wednesday farmers' market, or enjoy a spin around a temporary ice rink come winter's moderate months." - Canopy

I mean, it's Downtown LA, so you're bound to run up against homeless, but they keep to themselves. Otherwise, this is a nice much-needed green space in the middle of the City. Since it's named after a famous WWI general, they have other monuments related to veterans and others who've contributed in some way to the fabric of this country. As long as you feel safe, please take some time to read up on some of the people that are featured here.

This review is for the playground at Pershing Square: The playground at Pershing square is a fun one for adults if you have kids. Age appropriate for 5-12, but my 2 year old had a great time here. Definitely a playground for kids who like to climb! I love the city views from this playground, you feel like you’re in the heart of the city. The playground has soft matting on the floor which is perfect to have below the high spider web-like play structure. Nice colorful benches to sit on, and large plastic boulder rocks.

Not many trees or shades in the hot day. This Square is perfectly located in the center of the fun and historical, safe area of the downtown LA. Parking is right under the square, so it is convenient to come and go. Plus, there are many bus stops and train stations around here, so you don't need to walk long. The square has a lot of status, many sitting areas, and kids play ground, so you can bring your families here. However, this big square or park, has no running water for people to wash their hands. There are no public restrooms, so you will not be able to stay long. Plus, there are very few trees, so it is pretty hot in the summer time, or just in a hot day. There are a lot of tall and beautiful buildings around this Square, so you will be able to enjoy the gorgeous view in the background.

Pershing Square is located in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles. The square is a public place that allows community members and visitors to sit, talk, meet up and relax in the middle of the town. In November 1918, a week after Armistice Day ended World War I, the park was renamed Pershing Square, in honor of Gen. John J. Pershing. A plaque was added in his honor some four decades later. On one of the buildings you will see a huge graffiti in form of a baseball player.

There was an ice skating event there on Christmas Day. my fiance and I went. It was very fun. There were food vendors, a huge beautiful Christmas tree and a lot of lights. A lot of people and no drama! It was great. We will be going to the next event they have there Only catch is. Really Try and find parking on the street Do not park underneath Persian square in their parking garage because it says $9 flat rate for 3 hours but when you leave it's $20 and we were only there for about an hour and a half
