"Samudra, Jackson Heights by Diane Shaw. Even the most carnivorous of eaters won't miss the meat here. Samudra’s offers a great variety of satisfying Southern and Northern Indian specialties. They are known for their dosa’s of which they offer over 15 different types. Try both the paper dosa which is thin and crispy and the mysore dosa which is porous with a satisfying chew; both are served with a tasty coconut chutney and sambar. They also have a long list of perfectly spiced curries (okra and roasted eggplant to start), Mumbai chaats (like a flavor party in your mouth), and hard to find rice dishes (tamarind!) to explore. If you get overwhelmed by the options, the hospitable owner Jagdish Shetty (aka Jack) is always on hand to offer recommendations."
