"Tom Dixon's Water Tower, Kensal Queens Park. This disused water tower has been renovated by Tom Dixon along with Peter Harris from studio SUSD, extending the circular structure in order to celebrate its brutalist form. It was built in the 1930s and used to store 5000 gallons of water in case a nearby gas structure caught fire. The tower now has three floors of living space connected by spiral stairs and offering views of Portobello, Trellick Tower and Kensal Green cemetery. The project was intended as a design exercise and has previously been listed on airbnb."
