A South African Wine Bar in the Heart of Manhattan

"Kaia wine bar, a South African mainstay in Manhattan's Upper East Side neighborhood, is a warm and welcome respite off the beaten path. Suzaan Hauptfleish, the owner, opened Kaia on Third Avenue in 2011. The wine list features 44 South African wines, with 42 available by the glass and two in Suz’s Private Collection. Chef Billy Dineen offers dishes full of local ingredients and South African flavors. The menu changes seasonally and includes a variety of dishes, such as The Gatsby sandwich and all South African cured meats and beef jerky made in house. Kaia has been a Michelin Guide Recommended restaurant since 2015." - Abbe Baker
