"There isn’t a ton of Tex-Mex in New York, but that doesn’t mean you should settle for the stale corn tortillas at Güeros. That’s a shame, because this casual, counter-service spot in Crown Heights does have good meats—like grilled hanger steak and well-seasoned carnitas—as well as a perfectly gooey queso with satisfyingly greasy chips. The workaround, if you really need some Tex-Mex and happen to be in the area on a weekend, is to head here for brunch, when they use flour tortillas to make great breakfast tacos, and migas. Güeros is also a useful spot for an inexpensive after-work margarita or beer at a picnic table in the large, covered outdoor structure. Pair these with that queso." - Kenny Yang
