"The coffee crunch cake from Yasukochi’s Sweet Stop is a local treasure. The tiny cash-only Japantown bakery has been around for almost five decades inside Super Mira Market, and still draws lines. Snag a slice (or seven) of the layered sponge cake coated in candy the texture of sticky honeycomb, with fluffy layers of whipped cream. It’s light, not too sweet, and should be on the to-eat list of every San Franciscan. Getting here when they open is the move (they sell out of the cake most days). Also consider adding their other fantastic baked things to your order, like the chocolate or lemon crunch cakes, danishes, and roll cakes with lemon or strawberry cream. " - Julia Chen
