"Street To Kitchen’s tom yum is a diabolical concoction that punches you with heat, lemongrass, and delicious tang. The bowl at this East End Thai restaurant comes with thick slices of mushrooms and perfectly pink shrimp bobbing in a broth layered with lemongrass and stewed tomato. It’s also spicy as all hell and will make you wish people were still carrying handkerchiefs. Got a sinus problem? Not anymore, you don’t. Due to the tiny size of the dining room, reservations at Street To Kitchen are already difficult to get. And since the chef won a James Beard Award in early 2023, getting one (especially at peak hours) is now actually impossible. Unless you’re able to plan a couple weeks in advance, try going for a table right at 5pm or get a little European with a 9pm visit. Walk-ins are not recommended." - gianni greene, chelsea thomas, julie takahashi
