"When Ursula first opened as a tiny Crown Heights takeout spot in September 2020, it drew a line that was 90% due to its New Mexico-style breakfast burritos, and 10% due to the fact that there was nothing else to do. We were all starved for human interaction, and excited by the prospect of standing around on a rainy fall day, fantasizing about who else in line might turn out to be our future spouse. Since then, Ursula opened as a larger space in Bed-Stuy, where you can share small plates with a date at a counter overlooking an open kitchen. It's one of our favorite brunch spots and we’d still seek out the burritos (either smothered, or plain), above all else. They’re stuffed with soft scrambled eggs, hash browns, and other fillings like chorizo with red chiles. Proudly wear a little neon orange grease around the corners of your mouth the rest of the day—a little reminder to everyone that your lazy Sunday started a whole lot better than theirs. photo credit: Kate Previte photo credit: Kate Previte photo credit: Kate Previte If you do stumble in with a friend on a particularly aimless evening, you can also eat a lamb carnitas tostada, or poblano relleno, and have a lovely, low-key night with a mezcal cocktail or a glass of wine in the white and turquoise room. But it’s those breakfast burritos that'll keep us coming back to wait in rainy weekend lines. photo credit: Kate Previte" - Willa Moore
