Rosso Coffee Roasters - Inglewood

Coffee shop · Inglewood

SM: “When I was 19, one of my best friends, Cole Torode, was planning to open a coffee shop. He's been the Canadian National Barista Champion 2018, 2019 and Top 5 in the world both of those years. It was cool to see how Rosso Coffee Roasters grew into a big operation. They have a sick pour over — it's a rotating exotic or competition coffee, always a unique flavour experience.”

Native Tongues Taqueria

Mexican restaurant · Beltline

SM: “Whenever I go back to Calgary, I make a reservation at Native Tongues. It’s always tasty. I get the guacamole, carnitas, pork belly pibil and hongos (mushroom tacos) and the Patrón margarita. I get all the salsa so you can top the tacos yourself — lots of salsa options. I’m a big sauce guy. Hits every time. The servers are very friendly and chill."

Canmore

Canmore

SM: “Canmore is the perfect getaway spot for the weekend. It's a beautiful place at the start of the Rocky Mountains surrounded by forest, little streams and nature. Perfect for hiking, skiing, kayaking, mountain biking, et cetera. It has a really quaint downtown to walk through or stay overnight in.”

LESS 17

Men's clothing store · Beltline

SM: "[My favorite piece from LESS 17 is] a sick pair of dry denim jeans by Nudie. I always used to rock them and wear them for years without washing them to try to develop as many fades and creases as possible. The store has a super laid back atmosphere and they always have a good eye for threads to bring in and put on the shelves. I love the feeling of leaving the store with a bag full of fresh clothes."
