"Dinner with family at Savio Volpe was unbelievable: in a big group we ordered nearly the whole menu — a ball of burrata with garlicky toast, dry meaty prosciutto with shaved apple and Grana Padano, white anchovies with mixed citrus and Calabrian chilies; two incredible salads (kale with lemon‑pepper dressing and crunchy breadcrumbs, and farro with chickpeas, squash, dates, and ricotta salata); and every pasta on the menu, from reginette with beef braciola, meatballs, pork rib, and Sunday sauce to lemony linguine with shrimp scampi, tagliatelle with pork ragù bianco, and stuffed pastas (tortelli with greens and ricotta in red sauce and chicken‑duck‑pork agnolotti in roasting juices) — everything stood up, and we finished with a dark‑chocolate torte with olive oil and salt and tiramisu, capped off with a little amaro." - Alan Sytsma
