"Slightly south of Silver Lake Junction, I found the site for the forthcoming Silver Lake Pool & Inn, a project that will bring a hotel to this surprisingly hotel‑barren part of Los Angeles: when complete it will house 54 rooms and boast an elevated pool deck, and the development will include a new restaurant called Marco Polo. The project is a partnership between Palisociety and Timberlane Partners — Timberlane co‑founder and Silver Lake resident John Chaffetz (part-owner of Botanica with his wife Heather Sperling) is involved — and Palisociety’s Avi Brosh brings experience operating Palihouses in West Hollywood and Santa Monica. The building was originally a motel and was converted into the Sunshine City Apartments before developers took over, and the Venice‑based architectural firm Electric Bowery was tapped to design the hotel." - Mona Holmes
