"Hidden down an alley, I stepped into what feels like a playground of exotic tastes where Afro fusion, jazz and Middle Eastern melodies meet a commanding, open oak-powered stone hearth. The decor’s vibrant eclecticism—glass globe fixtures, honeycomb wooden paneling and a living wall—matches a menu that pays tribute to Rose Previte’s Lebanese roots as well as Caucasian, North African and Middle Eastern cuisines and is meant to be shared. I recommend starting with the spreads and the light, sturdy flatbread that keeps coming, pairing Syrian muhammara (rich with walnuts and darkly sweet from pomegranate molasses) with tangy Lebanese labneh lifted by mint. Order at least one kebab or a seafood specialty like head-on sardines with herbaceous chermoula to offset the brininess; the spatchcock chicken, brined in turmeric, adds a golden glow to the crispy skin, and you should ask for all seven condiments—like whipped garlic toum—upfront to flavor the meal." - Tierney Plumb
