"I learned the Buckhead location on Howell Mill Road recently dropped “Takeout & Catering” from its name after owner Chris Smith found that people driving by assumed it was only takeout and passed on trying it because they wanted to sit down. Despite large windows, bright lights revealing tables and chairs and a small patio with rainbow umbrellas, signage still wasn’t communicating seating, so Smith wrote in a lengthy social media post explaining the change. The front of the building now displays big, bold graphics describing the menu as South African-inspired sandwiches, wraps, and bowls, and Smith says that within ten minutes of installing the banners five people walked in to inquire. The shop also weathered a bit of controversy over its longtime motto “Shit Yeah,” prompting a posted explanation at the entrance and staff sometimes calling the condiment “SY” sauce; as Smith put it, “Shit Yeah” is their promise that they hope customers leave saying, ‘Shit yeah!’ and that they want to make it right if they don’t. Their most popular sandwiches include the fully-loaded Conquistador with chicken, Romaine, and tomato dressed with SY sauce and Zunzi’s dressing, and the Godfather with chicken, two kinds of sausage, provolone, Romaine, tomato, and parmesan topped with marinara, SY sauce, and Zunzi’s dressing; both are served on French bread." - Beth McKibben
