"Opening on Wednesday, May 31 at 29 East 32nd Street (between Park and Madison avenues), I learned Moono is Chef Hoyoung Kim’s second restaurant in partnership with Hand Hospitality and leans into a la carte Korean cooking with most dishes priced between $20 and $30. Mul naengmyeon anchors the menu — prepared with buckwheat noodles sourced from Maine and a broth simmered from brisket, shank, and pork belly, topped with sliced meats, Asian pear, and a boiled egg so it can be enjoyed year-round — and the menu is organized into sections like twigim (fried foods), jeon (pancakes), ssam (lettuce wraps), and sotbap (pots of rice). The dining room feels grand, with 100 seats spread across a ground floor and an indoor terrace, high ceilings that give it a chapel- or Wes Anderson–hotel–like air, and a planned chef’s counter upstairs; for now it’s open Monday through Saturday from 5 to 11 p.m." - Luke Fortney
