"This is the first location of two (the second is located in the 7th arrondissement and has more seating) opened by the chef-owners of the impossible-to-book, one-Michelin tasting restaurant Septime, Bertrand Grébaut and Théo Pourriat (as well as Clamato, next door, and Septime Cave, around the corner, neither of which accepts bookings). Once both men started families and had kids, sweets took on an outsized role in their daily lives. They also were fielding constant requests from Clamato clients to sell the seafood wine bar's signature dessert, a maple-syrup tart topped with fresh whipped cream. The small but mighty shop is a must-visit for that tart and plenty of other well-done French classics with a twist. Stock your pantry with their selection of fruits confits, wines, juices, and spreads—and don't miss trying the sweet-and-slightly-herbaceous vanilla grass cream puff." - Lindsey Tramuta
