"There are a handful of restaurants to dine at within the swanky Shops at Wailea , an upscale mall just behind the resorts along Wailea’s beaches, but only Lineage strikes a genuine chord when it comes to both food and ambience. The most recent incarnation (post-coronavirus) has a menu that leans more Korean and Chinese in flavor with to-share dishes like the Korean fried chicken, garlic szechuan noodles, and a wagyu kalbi short rib served with a roasted bone marrow. If you want to start light the smashed cucumber and Szechuan peanut vinaigrette is a delicious option; on the other side of the spectrum, the aji tamago, a soy-dashi marinated six-minute egg filled with potato whip and truffled mushroom duxelle is decadent and heavenly. For dessert you’ll want the Mauka Road ice cream sundae, made with Valrhona dark chocolate ice cream, candied mac nut, mochi, and topped with a coconut and white chocolate fudge sauce." - Juliana Shallcross, Kris Fordham
