"While the menu at Zunfthaus zur Waag is influenced by cuisines around the world, the highlights are the local dishes. Under the leadership of chef Erik Schröter, Zunfthaus zur Waag has become a venue for showcasing Swiss cuisine, especially the Zurich version of kalbsgeschnetzeltes (Zürcher geschnetzeltes), thinly sliced veal in a creamy sauce with tender mushrooms, here served with rösti and optionally calf’s kidneys. The creativity extends to the dessert menu, where you’ll find plum tart with cinnamon ice cream or dumplings with apricots and vanilla sauce." - N.A. Mansour

"Guild Hall Dining with a View of the Münsterhof Zurich’s original 14 guilds were established in Medieval times to represent different crafts- and tradesmen, and their grand, stately buildings that still dot the city are a testament to their one-time power. Fortunately, most are well-preserved and now serve as fine restaurants. Zunfthaus zur Waag, house of the guild of wool and linen weavers, has a Biedermeier-style dining room with lots of wood-paneling, stained glass windows, and a terrific view of the Münsterhof. The dish to order is the Zürcher Geschnetzeltes, the classic Zurich specialty of pan-fried veal with a creamy white-wine sauce."

Fantastic meal from start to finish! Loved the roasted duck liver appetizer. The beef filet was tasty and cooked to perfection with a beautiful array of vegetables, and amazing oyster mushrooms that were so meaty. Amazing service. A very special dinner, worth the cost.

Great food in a very historic building in Zurich center! The food was delicious and the meat really tender The wine list was small but with nice wines! The staff was really friendly and would accommodate every need. The interior is very beautiful but could use some renovation! Reservation strongly recommended Only public parking available nearby!

One of the best émincé de veau that I have eaten. The service was even friendly. There were several business group dinners when I was there on a Wednesday evening in January. The only thing I would propose to the chef is to have the option of spätzle or rösti with the émincé.

Excellent restaurant specialized in classic Swiss and Seasonal dishes! They offer one of the best „Züri Gschnetzeltes“ in town but also the mushroom tartar, the venison, and the chocolate mousse deserve a lot of praise 👌 We will definitely come back !

A staple spot in Zurich you cannot miss the building. Food is savory but on the smaller portion side. Great wines and the Schintzel is the house soecial but honestly I would pass they have better dishes. They do have a daily menu that is the best choice

We tried our luck and walked in requesting a table for two. Luckily after a wait at their really cool (and tasty),pop-up holiday bar we were seated. Everything about our meal was perfect. Our waiter was wonderful and the food was delectable (mushroom tartar, weiner schnitzel and saddle of lamb). Much praise to the host who so graciously accommodated us and made sure we enjoyed every second of our visit. I definitely recommend enjoying a meal at this very special place.

Wonderful Swiss restaurant in beautiful old building in Zurich's Altstadt. I loved my traditional "Zürcher Geschnetzeltes" with kidneys and Rösti. The Rösti were nice and crisp while the kidneys added an interesting twist to the dish.
