Nestled in Cole Valley, Zazie is a cozy French bistro where you can enjoy brunch favorites and dinner delights under charming patio vibes.
"Not only is Zazie dog-friendly, it’s also a hub for Cole Valley families—parents hunker down with some wine and the kids can run loose on the patio. The French restaurant has a spacious back area that easily accommodates high chairs, strollers, and your kid who finally learned how to wear shoes after a meltdown or five. If you’re here for dinner, we like the seafood stew and charcuterie (or plain burgers for some), but at brunch, it’s all about the home fries." - julia chen 1, patrick wong
"Zazie is best known for brunch on the sunny back patio, with every type of eggs Benedict overflowing with hollandaise. But dinner is an unexpected pleasure, with generous portions, affordably priced. Inspired by the peasant food of Provence, dig into garden tomatoes, zucchini, and eggplant, or crispy duck legs and thick pork chops. Longtime owner Jennifer Bennett sold the restaurant, but fortunately, she handed over the keys to her existing team." - Dianne de Guzman, Eater Staff
"While the Cole Valley French-inspired restaurant is always swarmed for brunch, dinner is a calmer affair with a much shorter wait. If they can swing it, try to get a seat in the parklet or on the patio and order the french onion soup that comes with a thick bubbly layer of cheese and the country pork chop as an entree—the side of thyme potato gratin alone makes the dish worthwhile. As a bonus, there’s a kid-friendly portion of the menu with mac and cheese and mashed potatoes." - julia chen 1, lani conway, ricky rodriguez, patrick wong
"The French bistro in Cole Valley is a brunch staple thanks to their "miracle" pancakes and crispy home fries. The service is friendly to both humans and animals, and there's a nice heated back patio to enjoy your casual meal in. The only problem: Zazie doesn't take reservations. So, similar to many spots on this guide, expect to wait on the morning your hankering for brunch kicks in." - ricky rodriguez, julia chen 1, lani conway
"While you can always bring your dog to one of Zazie's sidewalk tables, on Monday nights "Zazie Goes to the Dogs" and you can dine with your pooch on the heated and covered garden patio. What's crazier is that Zazie actually rewards you for bringing in your dog by providing endless dog treats and $10 off any bottle on the wine list." - Dianne de Guzman, Paolo Bicchieri
