Wiseguy Pizza serves up oversized, New York-style slices with crispy crusts and gooey cheese, perfect for late-night cravings in D.C.
"Thompson Restaurant’s Wiseguy Pizza announced on Wednesday that the chain would be donating a portion of proceeds from all eight location to the Marion Barry Jr. Legacy Foundation during November. The donations are the chain’s response to &pizza’s controversial “Marion Berry Knots,” which were clearly themed around former mayor Marion Barry’s drug arrest and have been getting D.C. community pushback (even after being taken off the menu). Thompson Restaurant’s board president, Warren Thompson, said in a release that he knew Marion Barry personally and it was “deeply inappropriate to use his name and legacy in such a disrespectful manner.”" - Emily Venezky
"When nothing but a big, two-handed slice of New York-style pizza will do, consider this local pizzeria. There’s also impressive garlic knots and a menu of cauliflower crust pies for gluten-free folks. Its newest locale just debuted in Dupont." - Tierney Plumb, Tim Ebner
"If you’re looking for a good slice, Wiseguy is the only place to get it. Unlike a lot of slices in the city, these snap back to that freshly cooked state when they’re reheated. The cheese is stringy, the sauce is tangy, the crust is crispy. No hardness, dryness, or staleness here. And while they’re not jumbo-sized, these Chinatown slices are at least as big as a football. Which means a single is usually enough for a quick lunch, but you’ll still probably want two to soak up a night out. The shop is extra popular on Fridays and Saturdays, when it’s open until 4am. So come when it’s busy if you want to watch folks stumble in and out after haphazardly making their way from 7th Street. " - tristiana hinton

"It’s not jumbo slice, but it is about as good as New York style pizza gets in D.C. (though Andy’s has been giving it some competition lately). Wiseguy serves up pizza, garlic knots, and chicken rolls until 3 a.m. on weekends. and midnight on Thursdays at its D.C. locations (Arlington closes earlier)." - Missy Frederick, Eater Staff
