Whippet Inn

I often visited this local lovely pub and had such a fantastic experience ever time! This local gem boasts a lovely garden, which is the perfect spot to relax and enjoy a meal, especially on a sunny day, but even when it’s rainy! I had their Sunday roast, and it was absolutely delicious! Cooked to perfection with generous portions. It’s clear they take pride in their food, and it really shows. What made my visit even more special was the staff. Everyone I met was incredibly friendly, attentive, and kind, making me feel so welcome from start to finish. Their warmth and professionalism truly set this place apart. I’ll definitely be returning soon, and I highly recommend The Whippet Inn to anyone looking for great food, a beautiful setting, and great service. Always good to be back!

I like this place a lot. It serves up good food, has good beers on tap and good wines. It has some tables at the front of the pub and a beer garden at the back should you want to sit outside. You would love it.

Very nice newly refurbished pub with good outside seating (albeit a bit noisy out the front) and a good menu. Not a particularly extensive range of beer but a very good atmosphere. It was empty when I came Thursday 5pm. Came again today and the online menu was out of date. My cost £25 instead of £17.50. That said it was a very well cooked piece of sirloin. Great service as always.

Had a fantastic Christmas Day in my local the Whippet Inn and the meal was outstanding. 5 star. And a big shout out to the team working that day who made my day special. Many thanks. Garry

Our waitress was rude, kitchen out of ingredients, and what came wasn’t great. The Chamberlain over the road or Paradise are significantly better. When it comes to pubs, if there no hospitality or good food, what are you left with?

A wonderful Christmas Day celebration was had by myself and my family. Great hospitality,service and atmosphere. Thank you to Dave and all the staff at The Whippet Inn. 🎅🎄❤️

We have been frequenting the establishments along Chamberlayne Road for many years. The Whippet is one that we hold in high regard. Unfortunately, today, they have let us down quite badly. The service from the staff was sound. Really attentative and personable. Unfortunately, either the management or cookery team has shown complete disregard for the elderly, especially those with ailgments. My mother is in her mid-70s and suffers from dementia and alzeimhers. We asked politely that she have a child's portion as an adult portion would be a waste but were told that wouldn't be possible. We didn't go into the detail on my mother's disability as 1. We don't want to have to describe / discuss anything like that, and 2. It's pretty clear that my mother isn't in the best of health. The extra cost of the meal is no issue, but the lack of compassion shown. As mentioned, the service staff were sound, but whoever up the chain that made the decision may want to have a think about moving out of the hospitality business.

A really lovely Easter Sunday roast. Thoroughly recommended. Maddie who tended us was really good in seating us, taking our orders and getting the food served promptly. Would come back again.
