"A resort with unbroken ocean views and luxurious villas with rooftop pools." - CNT Editors

"How did it strike you on arrival?Opened as Mar Adentro, Viceroy has taken over this stunning Miguel Ángel Aragonés-designed resort that's just minutes from town (San José del Cabo). Built from glass and concrete, the hotel has seven different buildings for guest rooms, all offering unbroken views of the ocean beyond. What’s the crowd like?Well-heeled families and honeymooners. The good stuff: Tell us about your room. All rooms feel like a dreamscape, with floor-to-ceiling windows and private outdoor space. Villas even have rooftop pools. Decor is mostly white, with light wood accents, letting the stunning natural setting speak for itself. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that find its way into your suitcase?Rooms have customizable lighting, aromatherapy, and butler services. Tech is big part of the stay here, but it's integrated in a way that feels welcome and natural. Room service and food: Worth it?A new restaurant is opening in February 2022, bumping the total number of restaurants on site up to six. The dramatic Nido resembles a bird's nest and serves cuisine inspired by Mexico and Japan. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The property's renovation brings an impressive new fitness center, designed by celebrity trainer Harley Pasternak. Bottom line: worth it, and why?Worth it. A stunning modern hotel that's close to nature and far from typical Cabo." - Laura Ratliff

"Arriving at Viceroy Los Cabos (formerly Mar Adentro) is like getting a glimpse into the future of hospitality. Linked by a seemingly boundless plane of water, a series of minimalist white cubes—housing a rooftop bar, spa, world-class fitness center, movie theater, and more—rises from the desert landscape like a mirage, the work of Mexican architect Miguel Angel Aragonés. The view is memorable at Nido, a ceviche restaurant that sits under a nestlike dome of twigs. Equally striking are the 104 modernist guest rooms. Unlike the region’s traditional stucco and terra-cotta haciendas, they’re serenely spare, with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Sea of Cortez and tablets that guests can use to create their own lighting concept."

"This sleek, sexy Cabo resort is proof that “Resort View” doesn’t always mean you’re settling. Most of the “Resort View Junior Suites” at the Viceroy Los Cabos come with their own outdoor hot tub plunge pools. Call the hotel at the time of booking to make sure you score one—the modern architecture, striking views, and dazzlingly neutral palette make for an unforgettable Cabo experience."

was invited back to give the hotel another try, and my experience this time was okay. While the wait staff and spa services continued to impress, the issues with the design and overall comfort still leave much to be desired. I appreciate the management's efforts to make this an enjoyable experience and genuinely admire the professionalism of the staff. However, I do hope that the comfort issues will be addressed for a more satisfying stay in the future. The bathroom lighting remained a problem; it was too dim for tasks like shaving or applying makeup. Additionally, the very firm, thin mattress and low quality linen’s didn't provide the restful sleep I had hoped for. On the positive side, the wait staff were exceptional. They were attentive, friendly, and consistently went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed especially Jacob and Victor. Whether it was dining in the restaurant or ordering room service, they were prompt and professional, which truly enhanced the experience. My spa service was another highlight. The treatment was top-notch, and my therapist, Naian, made sure I felt completely relaxed. The ambiance in the spa was peaceful, though it could use some updates to match the overall quality of the services. Overall, while there are some great aspects, a few comfort-related improvements would make this hotel experience truly outstanding.

My son and I recently had a wonderful stay at the Viceroy. The service was impeccable, thanks to Jacob and Victor, who made our experience seamless. They provided just the right amount of attention: always present when needed but never intrusive. The food was incredible, and the rooms were very clean, creating a relaxed atmosphere. This is our favorite place to visit, and we’ve made it an annual trip. In fact, you don't even need to leave the property; next time, we plan to stay on-site for our entire visit.

What an experience. Came out here for a couple days for my first time in Cabo and I couldn't have asked for a better place! The hotel entrance itself looks fairly nondescript from the road, but inside lies a massive and luxurious expanse! From the multiple pools and cabanas to the rooms themselves, no expense was spared for this resort! And let's not forget the attentiveness of the hosts! I had the pleasure of Samantha and Oscar tending to my every need via our own group chat. Through them, I was able to order room service, answer questions about activities, and even book reservations for hard to get tables! This hospitality was present among every staff member, from the valets, front desk, to even the room service attendants. I look forward to future stays at the Viceroy!

My partner and I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Viceroy Los Cabos, and it was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were enveloped in an atmosphere of luxury and impeccable service. The concierge (especially Victor, Butler/concierge) was exceptional, always ready to assist with a thoughtful approach to meet our every need. The culinary experience was a highlight, with delicious meals at every turn. The environment was immaculate; everywhere we looked, we were met with stunning, modern architecture that perfectly complemented the calmness of the Pacific Ocean. It truly felt like a modernist masterpiece. What stood out the most was how highly the Viceroy Los Cabos is regarded in the area. Whenever we mentioned where we were staying, we were met with nothing but praise and admiration. It's clear that the Viceroy has established itself as the epitome of luxury in Los Cabos. Viceroy Los Cabos truly goes above and beyond. We were showered with unexpected delights such as complimentary champagne, a delectable dessert, a celebratory cake, and a generous spa discount. These thoughtful gestures made our stay even more special. Our only regret was that we couldn't stay longer. If you're seeking a luxury experience with a thoughtful concierge, spotless accommodations, and breathtaking modern architecture, the Viceroy Los Cabos is undoubtedly the perfect choice.

Google
Disappointed with the Service – Unexpected Charges & Poor Communication I stayed at Viceroy Los Cabos from January 31 to February 2, and unfortunately, my experience did not meet the expectations I had for a luxury resort of this caliber. While the architecture and location are undeniably stunning, my overall stay was overshadowed by serious service issues. The most frustrating part was being wrongly charged approximately $250 without any prior notice or explanation. When I reached out to the staff for clarification, I received no clear response or resolution, which was extremely disappointing. In a high-end resort, customer service should be a priority, but I found the staff to be unhelpful and unresponsive. Instead of addressing my concerns, I was met with delays and a lack of accountability, which left a negative impression. While the property itself is visually breathtaking, the lack of transparency, professionalism, and proper guest service made my experience frustrating. A place like Viceroy Los Cabos should ensure that guests feel valued, respected, and receive clear communication about charges—especially at this price point. I hope management takes this kind of feedback seriously and improves their service standards. Unfortunately, based on my experience, I cannot recommend this hotel and would think twice before returning. ⭐ 2/5 – A beautiful place, but poor service and unexpected charges ruined the experience.

Google
This was an amazing vacation experience. We stayed in a villa hosted by the Butler Team Jacob and Victor. Our butler team enhanced our experience by providing exceptional service ensuring all needs were met!!! The property is beautiful , well maintained with an ocean view that I wish I could take home to experience daily. Additionally, the food was incredible with lots of local flare. I highly recommend this property and if butler services are desired, ask for team Jacob/Victor.

Google
Oh my goodness. What an incredible experience. First, I have to say Chef Salvatore Morina is doing the best food at any resort we've visited—just amazing cuisine. The restaurants on property are worthy of a visit even if you are not staying at the resort. The front desk associates and bell-hop were always helpful and went above and beyond to move us to another room when there was an issue in ours. They helped book a fun excursion for us and arranged car services when needed. I am so sorry I don't have the card I wrote their names down on. I wish I could acknowledge them individually. The adult-only pool is beautiful, and the pools down closer to the beach are also wonderful. It never felt too crowded. The cabanas are reasonably priced for a resort of this caliber. The gym has everything you need. The property is modern, beautiful, and well-kept. The all-white theme with glistening water everywhere is eye-catching and serene. The buildings at the front of the property have the best beautiful full-ocean views. The buildings behind also have beautiful views, but you won't see either sunrise or sunset, depending on the building you are in. We will visit again.

Google
What a spectacular resort! It's so incredibly beautiful and we were absolutely blown away by the warmth, friendliness, and helpfulness of all of the staff. Honestly, it was the warm welcoming and care by the staff that really up-leveled the experience for us. Every meal we ate was amazing. We can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Butlers , service , housekeeping ! This is a very clean plush hotel with astonishing views and great staff ! Everyone was so attentive and helpful ! Definitely pricey but also worth the splurge ! The views alone are breathtaking!

C H.

Yelp
The views are amazing! The service is impeccable. The butlers and housekeeping are there to assist you with anything that you could possibly need anytime of day. They have several on-site restaurants that are also worth checking out. The Nido in particular stands out. Worth the visit.

Reza J.

Yelp
I have stayed in many 4 stars and 5 stars hotels in different part of the world and I am familiar with the Viceroy brand but I had never stayed in any of their properties. This place is immaculate on every level; from the room interior and amenities to room cleanliness and friendliness of every staff, this place is a 10+. It puts other brand like Four Seasons and Ritz into Shame! The level of detail in every interaction is nailed to perfection and oh my god, every restaurants at the resort offer great ambiance and quality. The gym and spa and particularly the Spa is beyond extraordinary. This is not a resort; it is a paradise!

Maya F.

Yelp
I had such high hopes for this hotel. The views are breathtaking. The architecture is stunning. It truly is beautiful, the grounds are well maintained and it's very clean. However, I was left disappointed by my stay. First of all, be prepared for a 15% service charge on ALL food, drinks and spa services IN ADDITION to your tip for the waitstaff. So, you end up spending an additional 30-35% on everything. There was also another resort and service charge of $500 upon check in. Their hotel car service is $220 round trip. You'll spend far less taking a taxi or Uber. The service was very hit and miss. One day, the food and beverage service at the pool was fantastic, the next day, it was almost non-existent. Our food order was forgotten twice! And this was with only 1/3 of the resort booked! Super disappointing. The food at Nido was excellent, but a family with 5 disruptive children, including a kid with a hacking bronchitis cough seated next to us was very unpleasant. We ended our meal early and left. The service at Cielomar was outstanding, but the food was either flavorless or too salty, and overpriced. The cocktails, however were fantastic. The mixologist did a superb job. The breakfast at Casero was consistently tasty, but the service was great one day and lacking the next. The beach food and beverage service was EXCELLENT. The shrimp ceviche, tempura shrimp tacos and Guabajas were delicious. Heidi, Itzia and Sammy were friendly, attentive and wonderful. The gym is spacious and clean. The spa was an incredible experience, from the facilities, to the ambience and the amazing massage. That itself gave this review an additional star. Our room was beautiful. The outdoor patio with the soaking tub and lounging bed were awesome. The view was stunning. The blackout shade, however was broken and would get stuck every day, making a horrific screeching/scuffling noise. We called for a repair. Three men showed up, couldn't fix it, and said someone would return in the morning. It never happened. The resort is beautiful, and it was surprisingly quiet. I thoroughly enjoyed the grounds, although the service was just so inconsistent. The service fees are absolutely ridiculous. I would rather just pay higher prices than feel like I'm being nickel and dimed for every charge. For the price, I would probably stay elsewhere in Cabo.

Craig W.

Yelp
Mega impressive. From the moment you check-in to the moment you leave, you are treated as a person, with a staff ensuring everything is right for you. The meals, OMG, breakfast is awesome. They make changes when you need them, from dietary restrictions to vegan requests. Dinner - yum, yum. I've stayed at a lot of four star hotels in San Jose Del Cabo and Cabo San Lucas. But I've never had the amazing experience as I had here. A must.

Dana L.

Yelp
I booked a massage at Viceroy and it was pretty good. I want to mostly highlight the actual pre service experience. There's only indoor spa experiences and you cannot go out to the outdoor pools. With that being said, the sauna was honestly the best part of the experience because they have some facial and body scrubs available. I'm still very much thinking about that facial scrub they provided!!! Massage was great but I have definitely had better (but at a higher price point).

Yelp
Best hotel ever Staff was wonderful ( Especially Mariana) Food was amazing Birthday was amazing Pool was awesome The bed was very clean and comfortable The beach was very elegant and sleek The taxi service was amazing Everyone spoke English Everyone wished me a happy birthday

Yelp
This hotel is AMAZING! The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay special. Our room was spectacular and far exceeded our expectations. We look forward to coming back soon!

Monyca W.

Yelp
One of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in. Absolutely everything was lovely. The room was beautiful. The service was impeccable. The views were stunning. Don't stay here, I'm hoping the price will come down so I can afford to return.

Dan M.

Yelp
Great resort . It is walking distance to the town . 5 min to grocery store. 5 min walk to Cabo adventures. Lots of restaurants around. Not really a kid friendly resort mostly for adults. We saw lots of NFL players here the first day becuse there was a wedding for one of them. Very clean resort and very relaxing. Enjoyed our stay .

Samantha P.

Yelp
This resort has the absolute worst customer service, every time I have called they have been extremely rude and not accommodating at all. Definitely not worth the $$$ if you are looking for 5 star service, you won't get it here.

Ryen B.

Yelp
The property is really lovely and the staff fabulous. The entire property is spotless. Nice gym with plenty of equipment. Rooms are modern and refreshed twice daily. Plenty of lounge chairs, in great condition and lots of umbrellas for shade and a luxurious number of spotless white towels. The vibe is chill with groups of friends and families with well-behaved little ones. We ate one breakfast, a few lunches and one dinner on property. The service is exceptional. Food is fine, though expensive. Live music at several of the restaurants in the evening. Grocery store is a short walk away for snacks and it's easy to get an uber to one of the fab local restaurants in town.

Kathryn K.

Yelp
Love this hotel. The pool and beach are amazing. The staff is honestly next level. Herni and Noe Perez served us at the pool all day. I highly recommend the tipsy rabbit. It was a perfect spot for our honeymoon

Jay H.

Yelp
Have to come back for longer! Enjoyed a 4 night stay at this wonderful hotel and loved every minute. From the staff, to the room, to the food! Everything was great. We had a one bedroom junior suite ocean view and OMG - seeing the sunrise from our room every day was such a sweet pleasure. There are 3 restaurants on sight (Japanese, Mediterranean, and International) as well as there "all day" restaurant Caseros - which I frequented the most (the other 3 require dress code btw). I should have turned into a catch of the day as much as I ate it. Food was great and drinks were strong! The staff was SO accommodating and friendly and I genuinely enjoyed just having simple conversations with them. To name a few - Jonathan at the bar, Alfredo at the front door, and Eduardo at the pool bar areas were our favorites! They also have a nice gym which I frequented daily! We didn't leave the resort much because it really had everything you needed for a (RELAXED) stay but when we did we took a 5 min walk to Grandmas restaurant for breakfast and then went to main city Cabo for night life and that was great too! Oh & the Wild Canyon Adventure (a must!) OVERALL - I'm going back and it won't be soon enough. Thank you Viceroy for an amazing stay - it was much needed!

Sunil R.

Yelp
Beautiful beautiful hotel! The architecture is incredible and literally breathtaking. From the location by the water to the modern lines and structures to the Nido (nest) restaurant in the middle of the pool to the rooftop bar, it's a sight to behold. The rooms are well very equipped. The staff was consistently extremely attentive and it is clear that customer service is a top priority here.

Yadira R.

Yelp
Experience was not the same as 4 years ago. Service was very pushy and hostile. The resort is nice but the service was the worse. First because they tried to charge me the same service fee 3 times 3 different people. Then they got upset I saved my receipt the first time and was able to show them. (Red flag when I came in there were two others being taken advantage of at the reception and during my checkout there was another family upset they were taking over charging them too) I speak Spanish as my first language and perfectly understood the bartender talk very Pervy about the guests. I noticed they were upset about me not being drunk to be taken advantage of, after all that's how they prey and up charge on all their guests. I had left a bad review and really didn't want to stay the rest of the time. A little later what happens to be a manage going in and says who is this table to a server and he responds with our room number. Already extra creepy then the staff was following us around . Truthfully if you're not super American looking they will not treat you that well. I came here 4 years ago you can see my previous review we literally spent like 5k here and we're super happy had a great time. But this time was not the case I would never come back nor reccomend. To top it all off idk if they got upset because we forgot to tip when we returned the car to valet but we didn't have any small bills we were intending on tipping the following morning and had already tipped the same people during pick up but I guess that wasn't enough after leaving our car without a tip at night they slammed the doors passive aggressively and the next morning they tampered with our car battery and it wouldn't start. It was a brand new battery but upon coming in to the valet garage we noticed they purposely left the key in the fob turned on all night , purposely . Then when I recorded the situation because I was scared they treated us even worse to the point that I just checked out and left to a different hotel. If you want a nicer place for similar price point I highly recommend las ventanas Or cabo azul. Vice roy is not as nice as it was and the service can get scary and judgy if you're not super white :/ which sucks because it's 2023 . They need to get their act together I would never ever return.

Brian G.

Yelp
Poor service, food was ok and resort was very noisy. The location is great, nearby San Jose, but there are so many better resorts that price doesn't match value. Condé Nast got this one wrong.

Leo L.

Yelp
Magical view! Fantastic pool design and water presentation! Awesome gym! Good restaurants. Construction felt cheap. Service was lacking. Still a recommendation because of the view and the design.

Carolyn C.

Yelp
What am I missing? Not only is there nothing special, there is absolutely nothing here. The pools are too few and too small for capacity of people; the selection of (overpriced) food and drink options is very limited... and the last drink is served at 10:45 (but u r made to feel uncomfortable even being there at 10:30). It is extremely odd that everyone we met seems to have drunk some Kool-aid making them think something here is cool. Maybe it is an east coast disability - as we cannot see/feel the vibe no matter how hard we try. I HAVE TO MENTION NO AIR CONDITIONED BARS OR RESTAURANTS ON THE PROPERTY, WHICH IS SHOCKING!!

Sunia L.

Yelp
I love & miss you, Viceroy. Top notch staff and A1 professional service. I came here with a gf back in Oct of 2020 (yes, during a pandemic - safely so, might I add). We stayed here approx. 3 nights and UGHHHH WE FELL IN LOVEEEE!!!! From the modern designs, the pools, the hotel room, the views, rooftop bar, everything!!! It is indeed a hotel that is truly worthy of a 5 star rating! Every day felt like blissful paradise waking up to the sound of waves. We got the chance to try two of the restaurants based in the hotel. The rooftop is a must try. It was one of the most enjoyable and delicious meals I've ever had in Cabo plus it was during sunset hours (much romance)! The food was spectacular and tasteful, service was superb, and it was socially distanced and not crowded at all. The Nest restaurant was also great, with delicious options but if you only had time to choose between the two, I'd definitely recommend the rooftop restaurant. :) I do want to note that we came during the weekdays so it was a lot more empty (way more enjoyable this way) - we would probably see 2-3 other parties at the hotel in a day going to the pool or in and out of the hotel so that was great. Thank you Viceroy & staff for such a wonderful and beautiful experience. I am definitely coming back in the future!

Victoria R.

Yelp
A beautiful resort!! It is beyond stunning! I love the atmosphere here and the vibe. They have a great view of the ocean and you can walk to the water. Love their sushi restaurant on site too. A must see and stay when you are in Cabo!

Claudia L.

Yelp
superb architecture, menu, rooms, rooftop restaurant. Does anyone know how they prepare the Grilled Chicken dish - outstanding!!!!

Nicole L.

Yelp
I think this place is overrated. Very expensive for a small ocean view room. I stayed at Nobu the night before and came to this hotel. This hotel price is higher but quality can't compare to Nobu at all. The AC was broken and pool area closed very early.

Scott G.

Yelp
Family of three booked a week stay. Upon arrival we're upgraded to a wonderful multi bedroom casita beach side by the beach pool with a roof top deck, BBQ (we bought charcoal and the staff lit it for us to make dinner one night of our fresh catch.) Service, ambiance, architecture are all in point. Concierge services amazing. Too much good to list, our stay was amazing. Highlights include: NIDO Japanese restaurant prepared our fish we caught earlier in the day (Bonita) five different ways for dinner. Was absolutely amazing. Pools and pools service very attentive. Feels a little bit like Hollywood comes to Baja Sur with an eclectic mix of guests. Concierge booked a wonderful photographer to do an hour family shoot, for a very reasonable price we paid directly. Roof top restaurant bar is great for a cocktail at sunset and then enjoy the incredible lighting of the property as it gets dark. Hotel manager invited us to do s'mores with a group of travel writers one night on the beach with cocktails was an awesome experience. Game room for kids is top notch, theater with actual movie theater seats you can watch movies for a $15 per person (you have to place to yourself) and the gym is one of the best we have ever seen open 24 hours. Note this is an upscale property and food & drink prices reflect it but still a great value. Probably the only place we will stay in Baja Sur in the future!

Justin L.

Yelp
Speechless. This luxury hotel and experience is above and beyond. The hosts and staff are like family, the food is spectacular, & the aesthetic, design, and attention to detail here is like nothing I've ever experienced. I spent 3 days here and easily could've spent a week. The spa is 5 stars. I was privileged to try the detox + wrap and it was 2.5 hrs of bliss including the sauna and steam room treatment. This property and experience is next level. Kudos to everyone here. We can't wait to return! :)

Brenden K.

Yelp
This has been said before but it's really not a five star resort. It's more of a four star resort with a fancy filter on it. I see the allure of this resort as it is really instagrammable. We opted for the one bedroom suite and while it was roomy, the toilet would run sometimes, the water from the shower leaks all over the floor, and the tv is very glitchy. The service, while it seems attentive, seemed more judgmental than anything else. With the exception of the maitre'd at the cielomar restaurant on the roof (she was the only person on property that made any kind of impression on us - she was fantastic) the rest of the staff seemed like they were there because they had to be. The food at their restaurants are vastly over priced. I wouldn't mind paying for good food, but using tuna for fish and chips is a very weird and unappetizing combination. We were here to celebrate a birthday, which was mentioned before we arrived. The hotel did absolutely nothing. They didn't even acknowledge it. Pretty disappointing experience here. Will definitely be staying at another resort next time we're in Cabo.

Jeffrey D.

Yelp
This place is an Instagram lie. This is a 3-star desert motel masquerading as a decent hotel. The restaurant food is photo worthy, priced for fools, and flavorless. The weekend noise is pure Vegas. Talentless cover bands echo from the roof. Weekend Instagram sex echoes from the "balcony spas." The noise is endless, and you can barely hear the waves. Good luck getting to sleep before 4am. The rooms are basically giant all white bathrooms with zero privacy overlooking a beach that's too dangerous to swim in. Why would anyone stay here? To take pictures and fool other idiots to stay here. No wonder they have already changed ownership and management at least once. Oh, and PS, unlike the other upscale hotels in the area, masks are only worn by staff. The guests are entitled Dallas types who could give AF. The COVID measures are only for show Also, the entire building 1 reeks of smoke. Our clothes, the room, it's everywhere. The Cielomar rooftop grill shares the same ventilation as the guests, so the stink is everywhere. It's disgusting. Everything will need to be dry cleaned when we get home. We're never coming back, but feel free to stay here.

Saeed Y.

Yelp
We are very disappointed with finance management at Viceroy. We cancelled our reservation over two month ago (within Viceroy's cancellation guideline/policy). However, to date, we have not received our deposit back from them. We have contacted them on several occasions, however, we have received excuses rather than our money back to our credit card. We have not been given any logical reason for the delay. WE have been told it is up to their bank!!!!

Shelly L.

Yelp
We were here for a $200/person meal at Nido. Went to "walk the property" which FYI very small property, and a worker told us we can't see the pool because we aren't staying here and the amenities are "guest only". Like excuse you..... we are staying at nearby Cabo Azul and we we're just saying before dinner how we would stay here next time. After that rude interaction NEVER WOULD WE STAY HERE. I just can't believe it. Prospective guests and restaurant patrons are not allowed to see the pools? We were literally there for no exaggeration for 1 minute. So rude. Additionally, we started at the hotel bar beforehand to have some drinks. They incorrectly charged us dollar amounts in pesos (their mess up) and chased us down half way into our meal about it which my date and I were super nice about and signed the new copy. After a 10 minute walk around town, the valet guy stops us on our walk on the sidewalk telling us we must fix the receipt. This was THEIR fault and we already fixed it. So ghetto and cheap.... any nice class would first off realize their mess up and eat the cost, and second off not show up to your restaurant, and third off not have a sidewalk guy an hour later ask you again about it 30 minutes after you even left the hotel. All so embarrassing. They need some training

Amber S.

Yelp
For the price, stay somewhere else with better food, service, and atmosphere. The property and views are indeed beautiful, but that's about it. Management was also extremely disinterested in feedback. I would not return.

Frank M.

Yelp
We simply had an OUTSTANDING vacation! I cannot say enough great things about The Viceroy. First and most important - the people, I'm not sure how everyone could be so nice, kind, smiling, helpful, and simply fun ... but they were! Every single person! They remember you name - and made us feel like "family". The resort is stark white lean, super clean, artistic and hip - just beautiful. If you want fancy/stuffy - this is not for you. If you want an amazing, relaxing, great energy and a beautifully elegant vibe and an A++++ time with 5-Star treatment you'll love it. The restaurant Cielomar on the roof deck was outstaying - again, great people and great food and drinks. We stayed one night in an oceanfront suite - was perfect, clean and good energy. Then a full week in a 2 bedroom oceanfront residence - just perfect. 3 TV's, washer-dryer, and enough bottled water to last a lifetime. The gym was big and had everything. The pools - many pools were so great! Oceanfront - chaise and service rolling out to the beach too. A quieter area and a more spirited area - choice is good, we went to all! Boring folks - stay elsewhere, all great folks will love The Viceroy. Pool service for food and drinks - just perfect. And the pool bar food was outstanding! Bellman - Conscierge - Front Desk - everyone, and I mean everyone so nice and happy and helpful. Every request was met with over the top grateful service. The bars were great and chill, and even our final breakfast was outstanding. Yes - a PERFECT trip, we just booked our next trip to go back again! The perfect balance of superb service with chill vibe, great people, beautiful rooms - ok, I'll stop - my fiancé and I both loved it - and we are very seasoned picky travelers. Thanks to everyone at The Viceroy, thanks to the fun friends we met every day, see you soon, you're all great!

Carl L.

Yelp
This hotel really surprised me in a good way. I have to say all the staff have been really nice and helpful. The food has been good all around, weather by the pool, at the breakfast spot, or the restaurant on the roof. Yes it is a bit pricey but at the same time it is worth it for the quality and the experience. Be prepared for a lot of Instagram addicts posing all over the place -- which gets a little annoying at times -- but you can't blame the hotel for that. Overall a great place and I would recommend it to anyone.

Ali G.

Yelp
Modern, chic, minimalistic, luxurious. A small handful of adjectives that can be used to describe the artistically captivating beauty that is Viceroy Los Cabos. The 192 room beachfront property exudes sexiness and tantalizes all of your senses from the moment you walk into the airy and stylish resort. Upon entering the lobby, you're met with the smiling faces of the accommodating staff offering refreshing drinks adorned with seasonal fruit. But your attention is immediately drawn past the refreshments and the chic lines of the check in area, and towards the outdoor futuristic looking nest like pod. The architecturally pleasing pod is adorned with interwoven pieces of driftwood, and accessible only via a lighted concrete pathway surrounded by water on all sides. This magnificent sculpture is actually a fabulous Japanese restaurant called Nido. Once you've finished marveling at the flawlessness of your surroundings, one of the incredibly helpful staff members escorts the guests to their elegant rooms, and provides a tutorial for the smart room. From freestanding bathtubs nestled next to oversized bed loungers on the balconies of the suites, to three bedroom waterside casitas with floor to ceiling windows, no detail was left unchecked when it came to designing the accommodations. Cielomar, the rooftop restaurant, provides guests with panoramic views of the water. Dinner up there is a must, and a sultry low lit vibe can be felt playfully dancing amongst those dining under the canvas of the moonlit sky. The architecture of the entire property oozes avant- garde, as various sized paintings in bright colors and fanciful designs adorn the walls throughout the property. A glass encased art studio complete with instructor sits on- site, and is readily available for those who feel inspired to create a painted memory of their own. As guests wind their way down the swirling concrete path from the hotel property towards the ocean, the high walls of the unusual pathway break off at various points. One secluded door leads to a cinema, another to the state of the art gym that was designed by famed trainer, Harley Pasternak, one to a full service luxury spa, and finally- after walking through another nest like poolside bar, you've reached the beach; complete with the coziness of umbrella covered daybeds that make the perfect resting place for an afternoon nap. There may be a variety of lodging options sprinkled amongst the edge of the Sea of Cortez, but there is no other sanctuary quite like the design marvel that is Viceroy Los Cabos.

Yelp
Beautiful property but that's where it ends. I can't get information on the spa or dining because the hotel app on my TV does not work. I have reported it twice now. Walked into spa and the cannot give me a list of treatments- you have to scan a QR code. Sorry I don't carry my phone or computer around with me at the beach. Went to the fancy Japanese restaurant and asked for a menu. He gave me a coffee and pastry menu. Not one person ate at that restaurant tonight. High tech does not work in Mexico. Just put a book in the room!!!!!!!

Yelp
I wish could give this more than 5 stars!! This is the best resort I've ever visited. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with a breathtaking view of the Sea of Cortez. It looks exactly like the photos. So new and modern! The staff is so friendly. It's the white-glove service treatment all day! This was my first vacay post-pandemic and I was feeling a bit uneasy about traveling, but this place is extremely clean and you feel extremely taken care of here, knowing they following all the appropriate protocols. I ate at two of the restaurants twice while there, Cielomar Rooftop and Casero, and both have amazing food and spectacular views. We also visited the spa and I had an amazing facial by Adelaide. The spa is gorgeous with a pool, jacuzzi, and a meditation room. While waiting in the meditation room, they serve the most delicious chai tea. I felt like an absolute queen. I literally didn't want to leave this oasis of peace and tranquility. It's literally walking distance from downtown San Jose with cute shops and some tasty traditional Mexican food. This is the ONLY place to stay in Cabo.

Yelp
What a great experience!! for someone who travels a lot, I'd say this one was one of the best ones out there. ambience, location, vibe, staff, food and overall service was out of this world. we went to all the restaurants and man, food was fresh and outstanding!!! we came as a big group and the staff by the pool was able to cater to our every need, even to the point of adjusting our umbrellas to ensure that the shade was to where we watned it to be! ( spoiled much?) lol.. but man, this place was really outstanding!. super picture perfect / IG worthy both during the day and especially at night.. its awesome how the water serves as a mirror of the entire resort at night!. I highly recommmend this place!

Yelp
Ahhhhmazing experience! Everything was incredible. I want to give a shout out to the spa here. I've been to spas worldwide and this is one of the BEST! It's a total experience from the minute you walk in. Mauricio was our assistant who guided us to getting some pre-treatments before our service. It was so lux and incredible. We started with a sauna and he brought us a cold aromatherapy towel for our eyes. He collected us and guided us to the next room where we got body and gave scrubs and then rinsed off, our skin was so soft from the body scrub. We finished with hot tub then cold plunge. By the time we had the massage we were so relaxed. I had the detox massage and it was perfect! Couldn't be happier with the service. If you stay here you must go to the spa for a wonderful spa service.

Yelp
The word that kept coming to mind while staying at Viceroy Los Cabos was "elite". Everything about this place has been thoroughly thought out and the grounds are unbelievable. As if the photos aren't proof enough, it even looks better in real life! Truly. The staff was so accommodating and friendly. Yeah, the food is a little pricey, but what do you expect? When you go to a place like this you're on vacation, just enjoy what you're eating and drinking and chalk it up to a part of the expense of having an excellent time. There are plenty of cheap restaurants in town if you want to get away for the day and save some money, which we did a few times. I wanted to give a shoutout to ChuChu, Eduardo, and Enrique - all three gave us unreal service throughout our stay and we can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Beach pool waiters: Don Carlos and Andres Main pool waiters: Edguardo Huge thank you for my time at Viceroy. My wife and I definitely enjoyed our time at Viceroy. The food is absolutely delicious. All of it. Shrimp tacos, Mexican pizza, and the Free Range chicken at the rooftop was the best chicken I've ever had. All the food is highly recommended. The service at this hotel is top not. They don't want you lifting a finger! Honestly, I only have good things to say about this place. Will definitely be coming back. The service here is elite. Also, the views! Wow! Sleek looking hotel. Clean and simple yet classy and had a super high end feel. Can't wait to come back to this hotel and do it all over again!

Yelp
We enjoyed a wonderful week at the Viceroy Los Cabos. The grounds are simply beautiful and the beach area is really top notch. We stayed in a One BR Ocean View Suite, which was spacious, modern and perfect for a week getaway. Service throughout the hotel was another strong point. Despite it being Christmas week, many of the staff knew our names and greeted us personally. Food at the hotel was overall very good. Breakfast was very enjoyable each day (thank you to Karina) and Nidito by the beach was great. We also thought the food at Cielomar Rooftop was ok. Overall, this was a great travel experience.

Yelp
Pros: * Really unique design resort. Futuristic definitely. * Lots of pool. * Easy access to beach. * Every staff was really attentive and helpful. * Located pretty close to a grocery store to get water. I walked to La Comer for about 10 to 15 mins one way. It's not bad at all. * The room is really modern. Curtain has automatic control. There's some ambiance lights too. * Even at night, there's a staff near the beach that could help you get towel. Cons: * Only 3 restaurants on site, one of them only opens for breakfast. One of them is super expensive. The other one is rooftop bar with somewhat ok food. * All pools are not heated. * There's one jacuzzi, it's heated, but not hot enough. It's still chilly. Especially because that jacuzzi is connected to the next pool. They don't put some kind of separation, so the water just connected with each other. * House keeping is inconsistent. One time it's really good, the other time is just okay. Conclusion: I got upgraded to Ocean View room from Bookings.com because I have Genius status with them. If you want to reach them, best to call the concierge (number is on Google Maps). Enjoyable stay. Though I wish it was more of an all inclusive resort. Would I come back? Probably not. If I were to be in the area again, I would try different place first. This is my first time in Cabo, so can't really compare this with others.

Yelp
Not even sure where to start! We really really enjoyed our stay here in May 2021. The rooms and views are amazing, very modern but still luxe feel. The staff and service was amazing and the food is excellent as well. You really can't go wrong with any of the restaurants on the resort. We also did a spa day that was great. Paloma and Celia gave us the best massages ever and the spa was beautiful. Melissa, the hostess, was was very friendly and so helpful every day of our stay. Miguel at the pool provided such food service and had great recommendations for us. All In all it was a wonderful stay will definitely be back!

Yelp
I wish I could give more stars but five is the max. Me and my boyfriend stayed this past weekend for his B-Day and it was an incredible stay. The hotel has a very relax vibe to it, for sure not great if you want to party and get loud. It is very quite and tranquil, the staff is super attentive, the food is amazing at the Cielomar restaurant as well as in the "Nido" (Do yourself a favor and order the guac) We had one of the bigger rooms with the outdoor jacuzzi, which was very calm and romantic, definitely great for couples, not sure about kids, although we did see some super well behaved children. There were really nice details around the room like two tv's, outdoor lounge area and jacuzzi and super comfortable bed, everything well designed and gorgeously balances with the view. The pools are not warm (at least the ones that are in the middle of the towers) but the two smaller pools near the beach are warm. Jumping in the ocean and riding waves to later rinse and jump in the warm pool was and amazing relaxing feel! I loved the "nidito" area and the overall feel of the beach is relaxing and fun. The gym as literally the best gym I have ever seen at a hotel, it had everything from cross training equipment to spinning bikes and weight lifting bar... they offer classes and stuff which I did not take but I'm sure they're great! We came in in the middle of the week and left on Sunday, I did noticed that the quickness of the service slowed down as more guests checked into the hotel. It wasn't anything terrible, to be honest why are people in such rush, relax and enjoy the views ! If I had to make a comment on anything in the hotel would be. Please get rid of the water bike that is in the artificial lagoons, it's gimmicky and it lowers the sophistication of the hotel. And the mural by the gym is terrible, totally not on brand with the hotel. Other than that LOVE THIS PLACE!

Yelp
What can I say besides this is Atmosphere at the top of the food chain Loved our stay here will remember forever, Visit the El Nido Bar for a drink or 2 or 3, the best of the best for Sunset time through the tiny millions of tree branches made to surround and shelter you under the oncoming night of stars!!!

Yelp
The property is beautiful, and the staff is wonderful ... which is why I can only give one star. The owners and managers do not care for their employees. Upon checking in, I was told that masks were not necessary by an employee wearing a mask - to which I was surprised, as I was told over the phone that they would be required for both guests and employees. It was clear they were catering to rich tourists who don't care about the people's lives they might affect by not mandating mask use, while the staff was diligently wearing their masks. The employees were protecting the guests from getting COVID by wearing masks - but the guests were not protecting the employees from getting COVID. The guests are incredibly rich and privileged, the employees are not. The guests have health insurance and are largely or close to millionaires, the employees are not. I pray for those employees, who need the work and cannot say no. They don't have the financial security and healthcare privliege that the guests do. Their health and their family's health are not being protected, and they deserve that, no matter their socioeconomic status.

Yelp
The absolute worst. My wife and I was treated very rudely and unfairly during our entire stay here. They tried to charge us service fees 3 times!! In addition, they tampered with our car battery and weren't even able to fix it. Our cousin luckily had a tool kit in his trunk or else we would have been completely stranded here. The acquisition of the Viceroy has seen their service standards plummet. I have never felt so personally disrespected. They were racist and unprofessional. (I'm asian btw). My wife is mexican and the second she started speaking Spanish, the treatment went downhill. Stay away!

Yelp
This is an old review. I went here with my boyfriend this past August and upon arriving I was blown away. The pictures are already good, but in person is even more amazing. This place doesn't make you feel like you're in crazy Cabo!! It's so quiet and relaxing. We ended up staying half of our time in and around our room due to the storm but everything was near us and we still enjoyed our time. Pros: - GENUINELY AMAZING STAFF. All were so kind and helpful throughout the entire stay - the hotel offers free bicycles during your stay that you're able to use to grab groceries at La Comer or food from the outer areas - room service dine in AND restaurant downstairs both have great tasting food - the architecture is different and something you haven't seen before - walk down to the beach from the hotel - infinity pools are set at good temperatures - the hotel offers water bikes on their mirror pools that you're also able to use for that morning cardio - gym is small but contains equipment in excellent condition - many different hidden spots throughout the hotel, so you can never get bored Cons: none really except construction during our stay, but the hotel was very considerate with guests as they only worked mornings and it wasn't bothering noises. I know they have just renovated and have more in store this upcoming November? I'm looking forward to it, as me and my boyfriend would love to come back!!! Thank you for such a relaxing stay Viceroy!

Yelp
Beautiful resort and very friendly staff. The view is fantastic . The restaurants are excellent . The only complaints here are the windows vibrate at night with the crashing waves and the mattresses are very hard. Location was great.

Yelp
One of the best hotels we have ever stayed at! Hands down! Would highly recommend to anyone who's visiting Cabo. Exceptional service and cleanliness. Don't even get me started with the views from your room. Everything exceeded our expectations..it was beyond perfect!
