Venda Velha

Probably the best poncha in Funchal. There really isn't much more to say than that. It's a hole in the wall for sure and it doesn't really catch your eye but this is the one place that all the locals recommended to me for poncha. It's definitely not the ONLY place but every poncha I tried here was fresh and delicious, and it's properly sized for the price (which you can't say for some of the more touristy spots).

Good poncha (in this tourists uneducated opinion) but don't expect a smile with it. Or any help choosing. And be aware that just because there are 15 versions on the menu doesn't mean 15 versions are available. Locals love it, and presumably they love locals. Tourists? Not so much. Preferred Tapas do Anibal.

Good place to taste a wide variety of Poncha. The place is typical and the service is relaxed. The ponchas could be bigger. Very small glasses

Great traditional and tangerine poncho drink in an informal setting. I put a 3* for service since we had to ask for peanuts while the locals got theirs without asking

Great mix of fruit flavored poncha’ sa must try. Situated in old town Funchal, this place is lively and has a good ambiance. Great place to visit when in Funchal.

Visited this quirky bar as we walked around the old town and tried a couple of local drinks. Nice place.

Good service, the atmosphere was amazing and lively, the drinks are really delicious, and the location is excellent in the old town of Funchal, Locals and tourists flock here, and it gets so busy that everyone spills onto the surrounding streets, a great place to visit in Funchal.
