"As a visitor in Abu Dhabi , you often ask yourself: “But where are the Emiratis?” Many of the attractions in the city were designed specifically for tourists, and you may not get a sense of how the typical Emirati family spends their leisure time. Open until midnight daily, Umm al-Emarat Park is a wonderful place to seek out such interaction with the locals. An oasis in the heart of Abu Dhabi, Umm al-Emarat offers visitors a botanic garden, a small zoo, and an amphitheater that hosts films and performances from all over the world. Be sure to enter the Shade House, an open-air structure that houses warm-climate plants and trees and employs louvered mechanical shades to regulate the sunlight, providing a cool space with no artificial air-conditioning."

9 Best Things to Do With Kids in Abu Dhabi | Condé Nast Traveler

"Umm Al Emarat Park, a meticulously designed public park, blends nature with modern design. Rows of palm trees lead to water features that evoke an oasis, but one made to look like a contemporary fountain. The park is home to a number of sites, including an amphitheater, gardens, a playground, and an animal barn. The Wisdom Garden is particularly beautiful, with well-maintained indigenous plants and marble slabs with quotes from the late Sheikh Bin Sultan Al Nahyan." - Melinda Healy

Umm Al Emarat Park is, in my opinion, the best park in the UAE. The park is named in honor of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, the "Mother of the Nation," recognizing her foundational role in the community. The Wisdom Garden features the foundational words of Sheikh Zayed on topics like "Education and Economic Development" and "Gender Issues," adding an important reflective layer to the visit. The park is a lush green space, with sophisticated landscape design. I particularly enjoyed the mature date palms and specialized desert and flowers gardens. Also, it is perfect for family activities, including a lively falcon sunset show, animal stables (with Arabian Oryx and camels), and a popular small train for children. Getting a photo with the owl was a great memory! I highly recommend visiting this park to appreciate its design, its commitment to heritage, its family offerings, and its tribute to the nation’s visionary leaders.

I absolutely loved my visit to Umm Al Emarat Park, it’s one of the most beautifully designed and family-friendly green spaces in central Abu Dhabi. The park blends lush landscaped gardens, open lawns, and fascinating attractions like the Animal Barn, Botanic Garden, and interactive play areas for kids that kept everyone entertained all day long, it feels both peaceful and fun at the same time. The Shade House offers stunning views over the park and the evening garden is perfect for a quiet stroll as the sun sets. I also appreciated the community events and relaxed atmosphere that make it more than just a park but a real place to connect with nature and culture in the city. Ticket prices are very reasonable for what you get, and you can easily spend hours exploring every corner. Highly recommend it if you’re looking for outdoor time with family or friends in Abu Dhabi — great balance of recreation, relaxation, and beauty.

I visited a lot of parks, but Umm Al Emarat Park, has a kind of different (good) atmosphere. After buying my ticket and arranging my camera permit I was able to enjoy this park. Especially the Wisdom Garden is very special. It's a kind of place of meditation as well. The park is not very big, but absolutely worth the visit and I will be definitely come back!

Wonderful park! Fun on a Friday night and much more than I expected compared to parks in USA. So clean, and organized and easy to walk around. Beautiful trees and plants and grass. I love all the culture and tolerance theme. Definitely a must-see for exposure to nature in this busy crowded city!

I absolutely love Umm Al Emarat Park! It’s one of the most beautiful and relaxing spots in Abu Dhabi. The greenery, open spaces, and family-friendly atmosphere make it perfect for a walk, picnic, or just enjoying nature. The animal barn and fountains are great for kids, and the food options are always nice. A must-visit place—I always leave feeling refreshed! 🌳💚

Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi is widely regarded as a great urban oasis and family-friendly green space. The Children’s Garden features water-play areas like splash fountains and a “wadi” to cool off. Animal Barn / Petting Zoo: Kids can feed or ride ponies, camels, and interact with smaller animals (rabbits, goats, etc.) There’s a large Amphitheatre for events, concerts, or community gatherings. The Shade House is a unique elevated structure with 40+ plant species, offering great views. There is a small entrance fee. According to Visit Abu Dhabi, it costs AED 10.

A nice park with plenty of good photo spots and a relaxing environment to spend time with family. When I visited, there were some food stalls and a small market area as well, though I’m not sure if it’s a permanent setup. Overall, a pleasant place to visit.
