"How did it strike you on arrival?Energetic downtown hotel with a great River North location and a happy sense of place. The good stuff: Tell us about your room.Fun rooms with bold color accents, and artwork above the beds that channels the Chicago World's Fair of 1893. Picture windows frame views of the modern city. We’re craving some deep, restorative sleep. They got us?Definitely. The beds are comfortable. How about the little things, like mini bar, or shower goodies. Any of that worth a mention?Loved the supplied yoga mat and wellness channel on the TV with yoga, pilates, and meditation programs to follow. You can call down to have a goldfish delivered to your room as a temporary pet. Residency gives you access to free loaner bikes ideal for exploring the city. You've got to go down to the lobby for a.m. coffee, but it's plentiful and free. Please tell us the bathroom won’t let us down.Crazy animal print robes are fun! Nice amenities from C.O. Bigelow. Wi-Fi. What’s the word?Good strength and included in the rate. Anything stand out about other services and features? Whether it’s childcare, gyms, spas, even parking—whatever stuck with you.The top-floor pool is small, but especially welcoming in winter and ringed in nice views of the surrounding city. Sable Kitchen & Bar on the ground level is popular with locals as well as guests, and has one of the city's best cocktail programs. There's a free wine hour daily. What was most memorable—or heartbreaking—about your stay? This hotel touches all the bases, but sitting fireside with coffee in the living-room-esque lobby is a nice way to start each day. Bottom line: worth it, and why?Good value for the amenities offered with a nice array of freebies, from the daily wine hour to the complimentary bikes." - Elaine Glusac
