2 Days In Reykjavik

"Head back towards the same building as the Jungle Cocktail Bar to enjoy a leisurely brunch. A quirky local icon, The Laundromat Café serves a concise, unfussy brunch menu, which you can enjoy while catching up on some holiday washing! Just south of The Laundromat, take a walk around quiet, leafy Austurvollor Park, flanked on its southern edge by the Icelandic Parliament Building, Alpingishusio, an unsuspecting 19th-century brick property which looks more like a grand house than a seat of government." - The MICHELIN Guide Nordic Editorial Team

"The Laundromat Café Reykjavík’s Laundromat Café is one of the city’s most casual and upbeat places to hang out, whether you want to drink a fine craft beer, enjoy brunch, or—yes—do your laundry. The sister enterprise of the original establishment in Copenhagen , it’s kitted out in a classic American-diner style, with leather stools around a central bar and a smattering of perpetually full tables and booths. The menu spans healthy brunches, Sunday roasts, soups, sandwiches, and burgers, and there’s also a decent list of wines and beers (including local craft beers). Plus there arehundreds of books you can borrow, trade, or buy, board games to play (Yahtzee, backgammon, chess, or cards), and newspapers and magazines to read. Laundry machines can be found in the basement, and there’s a playroom for kids plus a children’s brunch option."

I had a very disappointing brunch experience here. The food did not look fresh at all. The orange slice and grapefruit were clearly old and oxidized and even smelled like they had started to ferment. I was also served pineapple skin instead of edible fruit. Seriously, how much does it really cost to include a slice of fresh orange or grapefruit? The eggs were very bad and did not look fresh either. The place itself was dirty and dusty. It’s not pleasant to eat under dusty lamps. Overall, the quality of the food was unacceptable, and I would not return. The price for brunch was 4400 isk (30-35 euros), for that price you can much better place in Reykjavík. Not recommended.

A beautiful place that has quickly become our new favorite spot for breakfast and brunch. ❤️‍🔥🥯The avo toast could have been seasoned a bit better, but everything else was excellent. We had a really great meal. The place is clean and has an interesting atmosphere, and the coffee especially with Baileys 😛 was absolutely delicious. it’s also a nice spot for kids 👧🏼

After a long morning or exploring Reykjavik, the Laundromat was a chill spot to sit, rest, and enjoy a beer and some great food. We stumbled past the storefront while walking on a food tour or Reykjavik (something you MUST try), and the exterior was so inviting that we made a note that we needed to return. The inside is fun and vibrant. The ROYGBIV bookshelf bar counter is pleasing to the eyes, and the jet red chairs and chairs and lamp shades give a vibe of a cozy yet trendy coffee shop. The food was incredible and was affordable. You should definitely try one of the local beers. I'm not lying when I say, Iceland Beer is some of the best beer I have ever had, and I'm bummed you can't find it in the states. Viking beer was my absolute favorite. This location was very welcoming and the staff extremely hospitable. It's also located in the heart of Reykjavik. It's a must try place if you find yourself in the land of Fire & Ice! Cheers!!

Seems like a popular place for Sat breakfast. Interesting vibrant eclectic decor. Self order via QR code at table. Nice venue & location. Not very good croissants/ham/cheese, ok pancakes, decent coffee but cup handle too small. They pre-poured too much syrup on pancake.

While exploring the city center, we stumbled upon the Laundromat Cafe, whose distinctive decor and laid-back ambiance immediately caught our attention. The friendly service and enticing menu encouraged us to linger. Although we had recently eaten lunch, we couldn't resist ordering a chai latte at the bar, which turned out to be one of the creamiest we've ever had. The cafe also features a functional laundromat on the lower level, as well as a play area for children. We're already looking forward to returning for brunch. 🤩

Food was mediocre, you order from a qr code and everything came at once. The had to put our dinner under the heat lamp while we finished our app on the tiny table. Cute atmosphere though!

Came here right after we arrived to Reykjavik. Very popular spot! We waited about 10-15 minutes for a table. Cute atmosphere inside and downstairs there’s bathrooms and an actual laundromat that’s in use. Once we were seated there’s a QR code on the table where you order and pay all at once. Food came out decently quick considering how busy. My pancakes were excellent and my friend enjoyed her eggs. Very pricy but to be expected in Iceland. Right in the center of town and close to lots of things!
