The Dwarika's Hotel

This is a remarkable hotel, family run. It has a wonderful history and a remarkable atmosphere. The family have made a huge commitment to protecting the history and architecture of Nepal and restoring stunning wooden carvings and building them into the hotel structures. It is one of the most beautiful Garden hotels I’ve stayed in.

The most magical, beautiful hotel I have ever stayed out. The attention to detail in every room and special space was a treat. An oasis in a city and a special hotel I cannot wait to take my family back to visit .. oh and the food is amazing - taking farm to table to a new level of deliciousness!

Sanjit was our waiter and did a great job. The food was amazing. I would recommend this place. The ambience was beautiful as well. We ate outside on the patio and it was very pleasant. There is a variety of things to choose from. I had the penne pasta with Barata and it was delicious. One of the persons in our party had a hamburger and also really enjoyed it. If you ever get a chance to stay in this hotel, and eat at this restaurant, I would highly recommend it.

Amazing hotel, nothing to do with with the overall level of Nepal’s hotels . If you are in Kathmandu go there, you will not regret it. Food is amazing too in all restaurants , deffo one dinner try the Nepalese restaurant they have ! Highly recommended

This is a wonderful hotel - a real place of calm and uniqueness. We stayed either side of our trekking trip - and couldn't have enjoyed the time more. Excellent food, service and beautiful rooms. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting the city.

Dwarika's is a gem. It's an architectural treasure chock-a-block full of amazing Newari art and architecture. The rooms are huge and charming, and the courtyard is a destination in and of itself. You couldn't find a better base from which to explore Kathmandu if you want a luxurious and authentic location. The food is over-priced, but excellent and hygienic - you can eat the salad! Service is terrific, including a terrific spa that has amazing massages at super-reasonable prices.

We have been lucky enough to stay in some beautiful hotels on our travels , but after a while they fade from the memory. Dwarika's is different: it will forever be part of our memories of our holiday to the wonderful city of Kathmandu.|From the outside it looks ordinary , but when you step through the entrance into the main courtyard you feel like you've stepped into another world. You are surrounded by intricate carvings, gorgeous arched windows and traditional artwork and it feels like you are staying in an old Nepali palace. The whole hotel is beautifully decorated and is an oasis of calm in the bustling city. From the spacious, well equipped rooms to the stunning pool area, the high quality breakfasts to the excellent evening meal we had in the courtyard , everything about the hotel was perfect. |The wonderful staff are a real asset . Friendly, welcoming and efficient, they did all they could to help us enjoy our holiday - thank you to them all. |We are so glad that we chose Dwarika's as the base for our trip. It was more expensive than the hotels we usually stay at , but it was worth every penny. Kathmandu has so many highlights and Dwarika's is one of them.

My daughter and I wanted a bit of pampering after our Manaslu trek and we weren’t disappointed. The friendly reception area was cozy with a peaceful ambiance. After a short conversation we were guided to treatments chosen with our particular needs in mind. We were escorted to the treatment room where there were two treatments tables waiting for us. The room was filled with antique furniture, the large brass sinks reminded us of Tibetan singing bowls. The room was mildly fragrant with the scents of eucalyptus and assorted herbs. Both of my treatments were thoroughly relaxing , exactly what I needed. I would highly recommend this spa!
